Oo T didn't really include much Ze Link hinting. Which makes it one of the games most open to a different ship. If Ze Link were the actual OTP of Ocarina, their descendents should continue to have bright blond hair, seeing as they both do in that one. Now that doesn't rule out Ze Link in Ocarina, and then their descendents being with someone else of a darker hair color, but at that point, why wasn't Twilight Princess Link a member of Royalty?

Same reason why Seres/Gully/Whatever Sage descends from Zelda is not a royal in A Link Between Worlds.

Eh, shipping is subjective and stuff. Though I do agree that I don't ship Zelink in Oo T.

...which wouldnt be surprising, since link never wore any to begin with.

I'm pretty sure they dropped the idea that the sages are direct blood descendants of the previous ones.

edit: Or not. HH does say they share the same bloodline as the OOT sages.

As for why Zelda isn't one of the Seven Sages in ALBW my guess is that ALTTP Zelda had multiple children. ALBW Zelda descends from one and Ceres descends from the other.

In every other game, one of the seven sages/maidens is Zelda. The sages/maidens are usually descendents of the previous sages, so it's assumed one sage/maiden is always a member of the royal family.

In Link Between Worlds there's seven sages, but Zelda isn't one of them.

Royal families branch off all the time though. The simplest explanation is that one of the sages(probably Ceres) is the current Zelda's first or second cousin.

Exactly my point. Twilight Princess Link could conceivably have royal blood but be far, far, far removed from the right of rulership because of the passage of time.

Though if ALBW's Link is simply the grandson of ALTTP's Link and that Link married Zelda, he'd have a somewhat good claim on the throne. Depends.

Or it could just be that those two only had one child and that ALBW's Link is unrelated or that Zelink didn't happen but come on!

(Don't ship Zelink in ALBW. I more ship Link and Irene)

It's possible but I don't think TP is far removed enough from OOT for that to be the case.

It depends on whether or not you think Gramps is actually ALTTP Link.

x5 If I recall correctly, there's only been two generations between OoT and TP. That's not long enough for that to be a choice.

So, because I say whatever I want, I'm going to say that the Hero of Time got together with Ruto (being Mikau for as long as he did [stupid fun swimming] altered his perceptions) and the Zora genes just so happen to be recessive.

I have some vague recollection about the Hero's Shade referring to Link as his grandson or something. I may be misremembering.

It's more vague than that. Around the time you learn the Mortal Draw, he says that the attacks he's now about to teach are especially secret techniques that do not leave "our bloodline".
