Final Fantasy general:

[up] It probably can't be much worse than the Version 1.0 PC release.
"Genocide: Over my dead body 'cause I get first go!"

I've been to some streams and forums on the occasion throughout XIV's lifestyle, and it seemed that most problems have already been dealt with - battle is much faster, not as much HORRENDOUS grind, and the added jobs seemed to add much life into the game. The worst problems: the menus, the lag and the utterly attrocious system for crafting/cooking etc I don't know about, but seeing as there haven't been complaints about them, it seems to be improved.

To be honest, I'd love to play this game - playing FF online with others? Sweet. But Uni, somewhat mediocre internet and the likelihood of the game being a monthly subscription turn me off somewhat. It'd be cool if it was a one time payment with extra for expansions, but that's really unlikely.
My movie made $28 billion. Where's my share.

10 may be in my top five Final Fantasy games but blitzball is one of the worst mechanics the series has ever had. Just putting that out there since I'm currently at that part of the game.

Fastest Thing Alive.
Fortunately blitzball is optional (Unless you like breaking the game and/or being a completionist) . The one mandatory game there is you don't even have to win.
Blue Mage
I wonder if FFIII's PSP version will have voice acting like IV's.
I absolutely love the new UI they've got going in XIV 2.0. I might end up picking it up since I'm both interested in the game, and sustaining a subscription to both it and XI gives you a discount on the latter.

Don't like Blitzball? No World Champion for you.
It's not a "cheat disc", it's an anti-frustration device.
Good thing I don't need Wakka in my party post-airship Sin.

Cheeky son of a....
Need? No. Want? hell yes I do. Nothing like a rulebreaker with Poisontouch, Stonetouch, AND Deathtouch on it at once. ;)

Blue Mage
You only have to win five matches to get World Champion. Considering that none of the other players' stats upgrade until you start playing, I wait until Brother is available and then sign him up for my team. Then I completely destroy everyone with him and Tidus. :3

You don't have to, but I still save scum until I win it. It just doesn't feel right to let those poor guys go home losers again.

Blitzball is the only minigame that's actually fun in FFX.

Because I've had to do the bullshit Chocobo racing twice because apparently I need a mirror for some guy to move away from a 'dangerous' ledge, and the butterfly game gives you horrendous treasure for too much effort.

...Lightning Bolts was actually surprisingly easy, though. Probably because I somehow didn't get zapped a millisecond after every battle.

Also, note to self: Never kill Geosgaeno when he's just eaten someone. You will not survive the indigestion.

I will never understand the hate for Chocobo Racing. It took me precisely three tries. It wasn't very hard at all.

[up]I have no coherent response to that other than Angrish.

Chocobo racing made me want to grind the disc to powder, atomize the powder, and blow those atoms into space.

Well, I just suck at FFX chocobo racing in general, so it's not as much hate as it is severe ineptitude. That's why I just made Tidus a fake celestial weapon which works just as well even though it doesn't get the celestial weapon bonuses.

and every gasp of breath i grabbed it just to find you

Never thought it'd be so upsetting...guess I'm just weird. I saw a video on YT describing the process, and the uploader was really mad at it. I was prepared for the worst and then, poof, three times and I'm done.

What made me go into raging fuck-this-game-I-must-kill-it mode was butterfly hunting. Mostly because I don't use Kimahri at all and did it for completion's sake.

And Lulu's thunderbolt gimmick was so booooooooooooring.

Given how the chocobo has a tendency to not turn when you need it to, how it seems incredibly easy to dodge balloons and hit birds, and that said birds love homing in on your location regardless of position, the whole thing feels like someone on the dev team really hated Tidus. Probably the same guy who hated Lulu and Kimahri as well.

But... the butterflies were really, really easy. I did that in one or two tries.

[up]And for that, I have problems telling which side of the path the red ones are on. Also, sometimes I simply run through the blue ones and nothing happens, wasting several seconds.

Really? I didn't have either problem.

Could be a problem with my disc for the second problem, but with the former, camera angles are simply evil.

 17298 lu 127, Tue, 12th Jun '12 11:21:58 AM from the Keep
The camera angles were awful, and my controller didn't want to move properly.

As for the chocobo thing, the birds simply didn't want to touch me. Hell, even when they did, it didn't particularly hurt my time.

As long as you have at least thirteen more balloons than bird strikes, you should be good... but they also randomised balloon locations, so that also probably helped.

Okay, Operation Mi'hen is just pure nightmare fuel. Esepecially what happens to the people on the beach.

During Opeartion Mi'hen you fight this one Sinspawn, I think it's called a Gui. There's this really interesting music playing during that fight but I can't seem to find it online.
