If we decide to use the Bomberman pic, we can find a replacement for that work page easily. A cover or a title screen can do the trick.
The Pink Panther one's good, too...
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportIs the infamous Batman with a bomb◊ already being used somewhere else in the wiki? If not it would work here.

This signature says something else when you aren't looking at it.Alternate shot of that is on Camp.
All of the suggestions are good. Leaning more towards the Pink Panther one, for being live-action.
Spiral out, keep going. In that case 1.1
This signature says something else when you aren't looking at it.1.1
Health sure is versatile. It's possible to be both light-headed and dim-witted. At the same time, no less.1.1.
(Annoyed grunt)All suggestions so far have been worse than current.
What's wrong with current? So what if it's "kind of boring"? It's simple, concise, and to the point. It's instantly recognizable for what it is. It's even from a work, so we don't have to use the "find a work-related image" argument here.
Including other stuff in the image just clutters it up. The cartoon bomb takes up way too little space of 1.1 (my eyes are drawn much more naturally to the guy holding the bomb than the bomb itself), and the characters and speech bubbles in 1.2 are distracting.

... until SUDDENLY DINOSAURS.I’m inclined to agree with . Current gets the trope (which is really just about the standard cartoon appearance of a bomb) across succinctly without being cluttered by extraneous elements.
Current.
Check out my fanfiction!^^^ Not sure if current image is actually from the game. It looks like a stock image added on to promotional images◊.
I actually think 1.1 is an improvement since it shows the trope isn't restricted to cartoons.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Since it perfectly fits the artstyle of the Bomberman cover, Occam's Razor would suggest that this image was made for that cover, rather than some pre-existing stock image slapped on it.
Concisely illustrating the trope is probably more important than illustrating its flexibility. Therefore, a picture that clearly shows the bomb (and only the bomb) is a better illustration than a more visually-cluttered picture of a live-action character holding a bomb. Potential confusion over the trope's flexibility also doesn't seem to be an issue, considering we have rather large folders for "Films" and "Live-Action TV" on this page.
EDIT: For reference, here is 1.1 cropped to show just the bomb and smoking fuse. Notice how tiny the image is compared to 1.1, and how it's so visually cluttered that the subject is hard to make out. It's a mess.In contrast, if you cropped the Bomberman cover to only show the bomb, then it remains a clear and clean visual illustration of the object we're trying to depict. Since that's basically what current is, I'm voting for "keep current".

... until SUDDENLY DINOSAURS.I've taken the liberty of moving the largest folders to their own subpages. 1.1 could go on the Film page, the current could go on the Video Games page, and 1.2 could go on the main page...couldn't find a source, though.
Clock is set.
1.2 is Cucumber Quest.
(he/him) ANIMAL SPORTSKeep the current. Focus is in the bomb itself. All other suggestions are just more cluttered for clutter's sake and don't actually improve the illustrativeness (?) of the picture.
PeabodySam's arguments are sound that this is a really weak reason to even consider making a change. I question why the thread was opened by mods at all.
Also the OP's assertion that their picture shows the bomb "In action" are false. The current picture shows a bomb with its fuse lit. All his suggestions show bombs in the same state. They are no more "in action" than the current.

How about a pic of the Goblin with a Bomb from the Blood Bowl Goblin secret weapons set
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellStill not seeing how that's better than the current.
Not enough consensus on anything and the clock's past due; locking up.
