So, on a lark, I decided to do a wick check.
- Abhorrent Admirer: Misuse for a character's lust for another character.
- Academy Faculty: Misused as lust for another character.
- Video Game/Accounting: Correct
- Ace Attorney: Witnesses and Other Characters - Phoenix Wright: Misused as lust for another character.
- Acts Of Cannibalism: Frankly, I have no idea because it's a chain sinkhole on a Just for Fun page. Just going to consider it as correct so I don't have to parse it.
- Ad of Win: Archive (2010): Referring to our own PSL page so for the purposes of determining misuse, going to not count this example one way or the other.
- Adventure Time: Main: Correct, but it should probably be removed as it's exactly the kind of stuff that led to it being No Examples Please.
- All Grown Up!: Correct
- All-Star Batman & Robin, the Boy Wonder: Correct.
- Amazon Chaser: Correct
- Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy: Misuse as lust for another character.
- Andrew Hussie: No idea, sinkhole. Presumably correct?
- Animated Films: Correct
- Ms. Fanservice/Anime: Correct
- Memes/Anime: Correct
So of 15 wicks (out of nearly 600), 1 is discounted due to talking about the page itself, 4 are incorrect, 8 are definitely correct, 2 are unclear but likely correct (though they may be the kind of example we don't actually want).
Might be worthwhile to do a deeper wick check to see if there's serious misuse. Personally, I thought this trope was just for "socially inappropriate lust" rather than "finding fictional characters attractive."

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I agree with adding in-universe examples. I also think that we should revisit the name issue, but if that's outside of the scope of this thread then I apologize.
(he/him) ANIMAL SPORTSClean up is great.
I think it would be a bad idea to change the name. The only reason I'm even here is that I just got linked to the page from outside the Wiki. I don't know if TV Tropes came up with it or not, but, even if it did, it's a very widely known name for the concept. Heck, they just called it PSL, and I knew exactly what page it would link to.
Really? I've only ever heard it used on the wiki, and if I had no familiarity with TV Tropes and had heard someone else use it I would just assume they were talking about any general perversion. (We 'have' coined terms that have gained wider usage such as Flanderization, Word of God, and other examples that I'm forgetting, but I wouldn't call this one of them).

(he/him) ANIMAL SPORTSI think a rename is in order. "Perverse Sexual Lust" brings to mind things like Claude Frollo, not having a crush on a fictional character.
The current name has 11813 inbound links, so the case for a rename isn't sounding really convincing at the moment.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAllow fictional examples, but per , keep the name.
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Ok, since support for expanding the page to including In-Universe examples seems to be unanimous, I've set up a sandbox: Perverse Sexual Lust
Also, regarding the wick check, I might do a more extensive one later to follow up on Larkmarn's suggestion, since going through the examples there does seem to be some misuse for things like Covert Pervert and similar.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"That sandbox seems like a good start for me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAlright, if there are no objections or further suggestions, I'll request that the sandbox be swapped in this weekend.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Clock is set. What is left to do here?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think we're done here. There's been little support for a rename, and the last time someone did a wick check outright misuse was minimal, so there's no cause for it.

Previous thread on this trope was advocating for a rename, for which there was ultimately no consensus. That's not why I'm bringing this trope here.
It is currently an exampleless page, but in the same thread it was pointed out that In-Universe examples should be fine; it is fans adding their personal Rule 34 examples as as an Audience Reaction that we don't want.
For example, Cool World is all about how a cartoonist falls in love with one of his own creations, which also overlaps with a Pygmalion Plot. Friends made several jokes to this effect about Jessica Rabbit, as did Red Dwarf about Wilma Flintstone in the scene described in the page quote. And I came across these on the Testosterone Brigade page in the animated films folder (and thus technically misplaced):
If the examples themselves are properly curated to adhere to No Lewdness, No Prudishness, I don't really see an issue if the page is made expressly In-Universe Examples Only. For comparison, there's already a page for Celeb Crush which doesn't seem to have run into any problems. Thoughts from the hivemind?
