And there goes Takizawa killing his former CCG colleagues.

And yeah, looks like Nutcracker's and Takizawa's slaughtering of Doves was slightly censored. Can't say I am surprised, the manga was really graphic about it.

I thought the censoring was well-done, all things considered. We got creative angles and cut-aways, as opposed to lame color changes or dark shadows that made it difficult to see things on screen.

We still got the sense of the horror going on, without needing to see it clearly.

Oh no, comparably to even the first anime series its pretty well done. I always found shadows blocking the view or colors going all wonky infuriating.

Another action-packed episode.

  • Urie's meltdown was incredibly done, with all the voices and surreal imagery and then him crying. DAT MUTSURIE hug.
  • Scarecrow's raspy little humming was such a good touch. It sounds painful.
  • Lil Shiro seems to have his own voice actor.
  • Unravel returns for the climax of Haise vs Owl.

[up] It was a good episode, my only issues with it is that they missed some key details in regards to Nutcracker's motivation (the leering men in the back when she was a child which implied some....horrible reasons as to why she became Nutcracker) and Takizawa's kakuja mumblings. In the manga he said he ate his parents during that scene. The anime folks would understand why he is so crazy immediately if they included that detail. Ah well....

Wow, I did not expect them to keep the Yoriko scene. Very cute, if a bit jarring to see that they changed her hair color. I guess that could be taken as her having dyed it while in school?

Hairu was ~perfect~ so perfect.

I wonder how they are going to deal with things, going forward? Since Root A never had Kaneki's gang, but they seem to be sticking to the manga in terms of how Tsukiyama is being handled this time around?

Either way, the character designs are an ENORMOUS improvement over the previous seasons. Ayato in the flash back looks like a 14-year old brat, Tsukiyama and Ui both look insanely pretty, and Dorito Chin has mostly been banished.

I really like Hairu's design in the anime, she's very beautiful.

Huh, so it does seem like they are completely ignoring Root A and retconning some of the things it messed up.

Tsukiyama mentions playing Squash (which the anime left out in the first season) and references Kaneki's gang which didn't exist in Root A. I suppose they looked at that mess, and decided that the arc simply wouldn't work unless they just tossed Root A into the dumpster where it belongs.

There should be an episode devoted entirely to people taking turns throwing Torso out a window.

Man, why was Torso even there? Why the heck is he suddenly part of Aogiri's hit squad? It's not like he's competent in a fight.

And then he just kind of stands there like a dumb sack of organs getting stabbing repeatedly and then defenestrated.

It's just Torso being Torso. Useless and a massive creep. I am surprised Grave Robber didn't kill him, but then again she might of tossed him out the window in a attempt to do that.

Also, I forgot just how much of a bastard that particular Frankenstein looking investigator was. And hello Shikorae.

And it's official. It seems like they totally retconned Root A, between zero mention of "Eyepatch" as a member of Aogiri and showing Kaneki's group.

Eto is pure Queen, and I love her so much.

Tsukiyama is a soft and good boy that doesn't deserve this.

Haise needs all the hugs in the world.

There is supposedly a big announcement next week. Betting on an announcement of a second season.
