Man, everyone going to feel so stupid when they find out that their boss is actually the very thing they're supposed to fight.

I have to say, going in a rocket that doesn't even look like it's meant for transporting humans and just smashes into the ground is pretty badass.

Shit about to hit the fan at high speed/

Episode 11: So the psycho of the Elite Guard is the most sympathetic. Cool but they could have foreshadowed it better. Some cool action this episode otherwise (I did like the Fastball Special), lets hope the battle against the Big Bad is as good next week.

11. Tons of action this time, and a lot of it really exciting. Definitely made all the build up worth it. Yume continues to deliver with actually being a credible threat and having an interesting backstory. I can see why she's loyal to the cause. Don't think she's dead yet, but things look grim for her. The Yomi stuff is less exciting, but could still go in an interesting direction depending on how they contrast her with Sayaka. The other two remain chumps. Kanami really is on a whole other level. Hope the first final boss fight delivers.

Wow, those were some awesome fights. It definitely delivered, on the build up. I really like the sword fighting in this series.

They managed to put quite a lot of in one episode too, I'm really impressed.

Here's hoping the next episode delivers too.

[up][up]Yeah, she's the only one with a motivation that's not paper thin. The rest of them are just kind of meh.

12. Aw, Yume really is gone. Pity. Epic final boss with more swords, because you can never have too many swords. Looks like one of the Elite Guard might be having a change of heart? Kanami is a beast, but she's still too young to match up against the big bad. Hiyori is certainly dedicated to the cause. A satisfying first half, but while the main threat is gone there's still a lot to seemingly answer.

God damn it, best girl is dead

So, eh, that was alright. Don't really regret watching it, but I'm not sure I'll be watching the second cour, either

well, ep 13 is apparently going to be a recap...but it might be a Kill La Kill kind of recap

Wait, this is two cour? But isn't the story basically over?

Yume's dead, and it seem the elite gourds were just being manipulated with lies and half-truths.

Pretty epic final battle, though I feel, the mother ex machina was pretty bad.

You know who I feel bad for? Yukari, the girl who's only crime was the she loved her friends too much to do the sensible thing.

13. Not one of those times where peace follows from beating the final boss apparently. I'm definitely glad to see Kanami having an appropriate level of fame after her level of heroics. Sayaka being kind of a dick was sudden though. But it looks like Kanami is about to get some character development, and I'm down for that. Some new and old faces compromising the current villains. The two we know aren't inspiring confidence in their competence, but they do have someone seemingly effective on their side.

It seems like we're getting new arc, after the first part of the story ended. Feels kind of weird tbh. I dunno what to think about a lot of what's going on.

14. Yet more world building. This show sure loves its slow pace. Ah well. Decent development for Mai at least.

Weird, after the fast paced first half this feels glacial.

"You're just students after all." - Yeah, students that are regularly sent to fight monsters from netherworld. And apparently have no worker rights. Are they even paid?

Ah, anime and it's softball approach for absentee parents.

15. Bully Kaoru, The Episode. And confuse Sayaka. Well I'm still enjoying it. Too bad Maki isn't helping matters one bit.

Man, this second part just feels so different from the first one. The first one took risks with it's set up, this one feels much more standard.

Karou making a good case for being the best girl. I feel for her, that old hag just keeps getting on her case.

In my opinion, the second half of Toji is doing something I"ve never seen in an anime before: the aftermath and messes of the kind of shakeup defeating the Big Bad that was infiltrating your system would actually have. Major political fallout. Opposition that splinters but still remains a threat. Understandable concern from parents that what looks like an honor when there's maybe one easily beaten Aradama attack every month or so, now looks like it might get your daughter killed instead in almost daily missions all over Japan.

[up] I've seen it before... but it's rare. The only example I can think of off the top of my head is the original Macross. And that was because the episode count got boosted late in it's production run.

16. Plot plot plot. The mystery figure being Princess Tagitsu herself isn't something I saw coming. Helps explain why she's so broken. Being split in 3 could lead to some interesting places. The government having two of them is strangely competent of them. And of course Yukari survived. Don't think that qualifies as a twist though.

Well, It was obvious that Princess Tagitsu was alive, but not that she split in three pieces. This is actually getting interesting again.

[up] It's definitely not a twist since they said the very next episode that she's alive.

Episode 17:

Yukari sure seems healthy for someone who's been possessed by an evil god.

Well now we know what's the deal with aradama is. Really it sound like humans should stop messing with tamhagane, and things would sort themselves out. Stupid greedy humans.

Princess Ichikishima idea doesn't sound so bad, though obviously the procedure needs some improvements. A lot of them probably.

... Do they not understand that if Yukari didn't accept Princess Taigatsu offer, their mothers would have died then and there?

I get that Renpu director is a crazy bitch, but why does the other one is still in on this?

17. Lore lore lore. I actually think it's mostly interesting, and all three parts of Tagitsu are things I want to explore more of, but it really dominates this show more than it should. Kind of lost on why the directors are working with Tagitsu in the first place, especially the one that isn't crazy.

18. I always knew Nene was a true bro. Weird how they didn't try to use her(?) to talk to Takiri earlier, but at least it happened. And well she got some nice development before she bit it at least. I think this is the first time Kanami lost so decisively. Meanwhile, apparently Yomi isn't weaksauce anymore at close range. Guess even she can get better.

Aww, just when Princess Takiri was getting good! What a shame. sad

Nene is such a bro, and with a nice backstory too.

So now a bit of Aradama juice can make a bunch of middle-schoolers fight on par with the best Toji around?

Yomi is really the worst.

19. Lore lo-I mean politics politics politics. I know there's been a lot of focus on the world building and backstory, but I'm still lost on most of the villains' motivations and what they're trying to do. But at least Tagitsu going public like that is interesting. Meanwhile Kanami seems to be considering a more extreme path. Not sure if something interesting is going on with her, but I sure hope so.

Lol, It's funny to see our heroes being stumped by the villain just straight up lying on the tv. And it's such bold faced lies too.

I don't get why they're pussyfooting so much about this. Just go and cut her asap, it's not going to get any easier.

"Japan can size and unclaimed vessel in it's territorial waters." - So move it a couple miles farther into the ocean? Also, go under water? It's Submarine for christ sake!

I really, really hope that Renpu president is just cut down before all this is over.

20. I do like how philosophical the Princesses are. Gives them more depth than you'd expect from the kind of monsters they are. Neat to see Nene unleashed once more. RIP Yomi? Kind of ambiguous, but I don't see how she's surviving this without any backup that probably isn't coming her way. Gotta love the irony of Hiyori taking in the thing she hates in order to save the person she's wanted to kill for years. Now to see who's in control.
