That’s leagues better than the current.
Wouldn't we need permission from the author though?
Health sure is versatile. It's possible to be both light-headed and dim-witted. At the same time, no less. Those are both good, and shouldn't carry the permission requirement for the OP that bitemytail correctly pointed out.

I prefer 4.2 over 4.1.
(Annoyed grunt)I think I'd advocate for 4.1 since the thief's archetype is more pronounced with the lock-picking

So far, OP>8.2>8.1.
The stark contrast between the mage and the fighter in 4.2/8.2 makes me favor it more than the first. The thief is relatively unclear in both, but I find the details are more easily discernible in the second one.
I'm fine with the OP, or 8.2.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Any of the ones in 8.

None of the suggestions really illustrate the trope though.
The trope is how RPG classes revolve around those three archetype. It's about mechanics. The pictures are all "Things with Mages, Thieves and Fighters" with no illustration of how that relates to RPG Mechanics. Which is only going to invite misuse and Trope Decay as people shoehorn the trope for any work that has has mage, thieves and fighters.
The current might have issues, but the big giant "CHOOSE A CHARACTER" makes the point that this is a trope about RPG mechanics.
At least pick something that has a character select screen or something. The OP is probably the worst of the shit suggestions as it's clearly from a comic and so it invites the idea that any work with characters who fit those class names apply.

Yeah it's not like there's a folder for non-Video Game examples...
You suggest something.

This signature says something else when you aren't looking at it.^ The point raised in 13 is that the image should indicate that the player is limited to choose between those three archetypes.
I never said I had one. I'm not the one that opened the thread either. My point is the suggested replacement are worst than the current in terms of showing the actual trope. And it's not because a thread is opened that we're forced to change if no one's got anything better.
Based on the definition it doesn't have to be a Videogame RPG. Pen and Paper and Gamebooks and certain board games would qualify. Anything else, well, that's just illustrating my point about Trope Decay.

Character select screen from Shadow over Mystara Arcade◊
Fighter and Dwarf are fighters; Thief is a thief; and Magic U, Elf, and Cleric are mages

This signature says something else when you aren't looking at it.It's confusing if there are more than three of them, it looks more like Five Races or something (even though there are six of them).
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Crowner's hooked.
The crowner options for post 8 are duplicates, though.
I've always seen the TES one frequently and honestly their look is perfect.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.^ The pic (as all other suggestions) lacks to show "exclusively" Fighter Mage Thief.

Nominations for replacement images:
The current picture on Fighter, Mage, Thief isn't a great illustration, mostly because it depends on the in-picture caption, and furthermore the three characters looks and dress identical.
I really favors this picture from Flaky Pastry, which very much illustrate the three archetypes with no need for words, and has good color contrast to boot.
