I can’t believe there’s not a thread. I just started watching this last week; I’m 12 chapters in. I’m not normally big on drama or twists but this show is? So pure? Gina Rodriguez is fantastic; the supporting cast is great too.

I FREAKING LOVED THIS SHOW...until they killed off Michael and started doing weird, inconsistent things with Jane's character in Season 3. Now it's just akin to an old friend that I visit every now and again, as opposed to the best friend that I had to see and could enjoy spending time with every week.

I’m an incurable spoiler reader...

I’m glad Michael dies. As of chapter 12 I really do not like him or his determination to lie to Jane and then repeatedly justify it while ignoring every rule of being a cop. Jerk.

Oh nooooooo...I hate spoiling things for people, even with the tags. Sorry, I had no idea. I just saw the thread and got excited. Ughsad.

But no, the show is great. And the quality is surprisingly consistent so you're definitely investing in something worth your time.[tup]

But again, ughsad.

Lol, not your fault! I read the entire TV Tropes page for the show while watching the first few episodes. You told me nothing new :)

Edit: just realized Gina Rodriguez doesn’t have a page, and now I’m sad.

Random thought (that no one will probably see or respond tosmile):

I have been catching up on this show and I forgot how much I actually care about all of the romances in this show. Even when I don't like the pairing or I know things are not going to end well, I'm genuinely invested in every single romance Jane gets into (except Fabian, though, he was nice to look at). I get swept up in the drama when Rafael, Michael, or Adam fall in love with Jane. I get those warm fuzzy feelings and swoons when they make Jane smile. I feel the joy and heartbreak with her and somehow it always feels earned.

I'm trying to figure out what exactly this show does differently from other shows on television. Even with some of the bad writing decisions regarding Jane's character and the redundancy of the {{Will They or Won't They}}, the romance still feels genuine. When it comes to romance and drama, the show just gets it in ways that so, so, so many other shows do not.
