Wait, what?! I loved Titan Quest, it was the first Diablo clone that I enjoyed. Who the hell owns the TQ license that they could make this? THQ Nordic?
I see it's on sale on GOG - is it worth picking up? I got a bit jaded by D3 after a while, so something accessible would be good.
It's a really fun game. I was actually having a tough time deciding what I wanted to play this time around. Do keep in mind thought that the maps have no randomization elements to them, so you will be seeing the exact same world on multiple play-throughs.

I didn't think I would ever hear of Titan Quest again, never mind find out a DLC was actually released.
I might have to make time for this classic.
Dang, when I get a pc this is one of the first games I'll be getting. I had so much fun with the original.

Holy fucking shit.
Titan Quest has a fourth expansion now: Eternal Embers
It adds a new alchemical mastery and we're going back to China for a four act quest? That's pretty insane and a little disappointing as I understand it. We're going to be spending the length of the original game and first expansion (the combined Anniversary Edition) in a single zone? Definitely don't mind returning to China since its act did lose maybe a third or quarter of its length to Babylon and the hike from the Middle East to the Far East; but this is a crazy amount of content to just be in one place.
Will have to give it a try at some point, just not a good time for me to pick up another game. Pretty exciting that the old classic just gets bigger rather than we get a sequel.

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Not a fan of the bit about how it's only playable on Legendary difficulty though. It's probably great news for anyone going for the Greeced Lightning achievement but it rubs me the wrong way.
Also Egypt is fairly prominent in the screenshots so probably a tour of a bunch of previously used places.

I need a new sig.Same, disappointed it's legendary only. I was asking on their Discord about whether it's set entirely in China and was told to "keep playing". So there might be new areas or have it set in previous regions as well.

After 11 years there is a new expansion for Titan Quest—Ragnarok. Off we go to the Nordic lands to do...something, I don't know yet. Has a ton of new features like a new character mastery and the new act is supposed to be the largest one yet...and after Immortal Throne's act four, that is saying something.
Since we don't otherwise have a topic...
I love Titan Quest. It's the Ancient Greek Diablo III before we had a Diablo III. It's an action RPG that allows you to combine two classes to make your own character. It had beautiful maps and fun ragdoll physics where you could uppercut a cat-woman off a cliff and then eventually work your way down to where the body landed. Enemies drop the gear they're equipped with rather than a satyr with an axe hurling a longbow when he dies. Your journey takes you from Greece to Egypt to China, then the first expansion had you delving into Hades.
It's a really fun game. I just got the Anniversary edition on Steam since I never owned the game on that platform. Hopefully the online component is better here because I remember the original used like Gamespy or something and playing with a friend was a bitch.
It also had the worst game review I ever recall reading—Gamespot's reviewer bitched that it didn't have a town portal feature and that he constantly had to jog across the world. Somehow he missed the tutorial pop up, the glowing button on the UI, and the giant fountain you have to walk past that lights up and makes noise when you get the town checkpoint.
