Nearly identical to the bottom panel of Age Cut. I'm inclined to pull from Hakuna Matata — the image doesn't portray that they're singing about the good things in life; given that none of their mouths are open they may just be sashaying across a bridge.

Agreed, pull from Hakuna Matata...which needs a more clear name to start with.

idea Maybe keep the image in Hakuna Matata since The Lion King is the Trope Namer, and pull the one from Age Cut.

Vote for keep on "Age Cut" and pull from "Hakuna Matata".

^ Going to make the counter-argument that exactly the fact that a certain work already is a Trope Namer, would be reason not to choose it as the Trope Image as well. To avoid associating the Trope too strong with one specific work and keep it about the general Trope description.

That, and the image on "Hakuna Matata" doesn't really portray they're singing about being happy, while for "Age Cut", it illustrates very well.

This trope is needlessly named after the concept in the Lion King, so I don't think the image should stay just because of the name. The image on Age Cut illustrates that trope just fine, if not better than the current on HM.

A possible replacement may be this image (or a better quality version of it) from The Jungle Book.

Much like the current image, in 5 I only see characters walking funny / maybe dancing.

How do you represent "singing the happy song" in a picture? Is overly happy people singing good enough?

[up] I think that works better than the Jungle Book pic.

It isn't just about being optimistic, though. It's about being optimistic despite your troubles. A group of clean, healthy kids singing with healthy adults in a well lit place don't really look like they fit that.

The Jungle Book one at least looks like there's reason for the kid to be sad, but he's dancing anyway...

^ Yeah, he's dancing. The trope is about singing and the picture doesn't show that at all.

Also, I think you are reading too much into this. The trope is just about an optimistic song. It lists an optimistic song despite being troubled as an option, but it isn't a requirement.

I'm not exactly married to my previous suggestion. There's really no reason to say I'm reading too much into this, especially since the same could be said of you ignoring most of the trope's description.

The description doesn't say "this is just about an optimistic song" and spends a lot of time on the more negative stuff surrounding the optimistic song than on the song being happy-go-lucky. It's probably suffering from Trope Namer Syndrome if it's literally just an optimistic song.

For me, just showing people singing is lacking; they could be singing about morbid things despite a happy-go-lucky image (especially considering the trope name is not particularly indicative). Could subtitled images similar to in this gif work?

[up] That's just a face and a subtitle.

I'm not sure this trope actually lends itself that well to being demonstrated visually.

[up]It's not. We can use this still with Simba singing under the spotlight in the middle of the jungle:

15's actually pretty good.

Yeah, I like 15. The spotlight makes it look like a musical number, his facial expression looks happy, and the lyrics are clearly in line with the trope. My only concern is that it's from the trope namer, but this trope probably needs a rename or a couple of good redirects more than anything.

EDIT: ...Anyone up for swapping the quote, too? Possibly with Bare Necessities lyrics?

For a quote from "Bare Necessities":
