Looks like the cute little sister of the robot from Captain Earth. With some fashion advice from Tauburn.
Did they actually tell what its gonna be? Full anime, OVA, Movie or even just the action figure?

Well, if it's a collab between A-1 and Trigger, it's definitely gonna be more than just an action figure, though I have no doubt that figures will come of this.
I should have read the the whole article before posting.
Also, the picture with the boy and the pink haired girl have her shadow with what appear to be fox ears and a Slasher Smile. The latter is hard to see at first glance because of how fant the shadow gat and how bright the pic is.
PS: I wonder how relevant the main mech looking like a lady is gonna be relevant to the plot. Is it gonna be just a pretty robot like the Valsione? Some temperamental god machine like Unit-01? Or maybe a full on AI equiped mech like the ones from Buster Dress?
Well. This is an interesting development.
Wasn't expecting a giant robot, much less one that looks like a merging of Earth Engine (the robot from Captain Earth) and the robot from Star Driver with Eva-01's horn and humanoid eyes.
So apparently these two kids are Artificial Humans who are meant to pilot a giant robot, but the pink haired girl wants to see the world (presumably). ...Okay.
Those are fox ears? I always thought they were demon horns on account of the Slasher Smile...I still wonder if that shadowy presence is supposed to be a hint that she's (somewhat) like Lucy or some other cute anime girl capable of mass destruction.
Hm, very interesting. Seems likely to be one of those shows that attempts to be something grand - we'll see if it works.
It's been fun.Just had a chance to watch the trailer. There are lines in there that suggest that Franxx was a girl who became a giant robot.
It'll be interesting if we have three main characters here - the two pilots and Franxx herself.
It's been fun. This is gonna be something unique, that's for sure.
This means of 4 series Trigger is doing in 2018, 3 of them are Mecha shows. The 4th is Inferno Cop 2 which will be animated like the first one was.

We're probably getting more details later! (I'm guessing since I can't read kanji.)
Like that illustration snippet on the right? Here's a better view of it.
I'm guessing that there will be coverage on the October issue of the Newtype magazine.

- The leads, Code:016 and Code:002 have more human-y nicknames: "Hiro" and "Zero Two" respectively.
- Their Franxx (the female-looking robot we've seen so far) is named Strelizia.
- Stand by for another reveal of characters and mech next week!
EDIT: Fixed 002's codename since "Zero Two" seems to be the preferred codename.

Other than the fact that they come from different shows and the robot's conciousness has been confirmed to be that of the devillish girl? I mean, you're already in full Crack Ship territory here. As for the show itself, it looks interesting. The MC's design is pretty bland, but I like the girl.
Speaking of her, from the translation I've seen on 4chan, the "Jealousy" name seems to be a mistranslation. Apparently, she has no "real" name because unlike Hiro, she doesn't have any interest in naming things. She also says that she'll create a place for herself and that she may be interested by someone, probably Hiro. As for Hiro, he says that he is pretty good at naming things, that he seeks to leave a place and that he won't become a "flightless bird", whatever that means.
Apparently, there are ten kids (5 boys and 5 girls) split among five robots. Any bets about how many of them will make it to the end of the show?
Also, there's something about the kids only getting number designations while the mech get an actual game. This is not gonna be a nice ride.
- Her name is Code:015 "Ichigo".
- His name is Code:056 "Goro".
- Their Franx is named Delphinium.
- Stay tuned for another reveal next week!

Bump.
- Her name: Code:390: "Miku" (ain't she looking familiar to some Eva fans?)
- His name: Code:666: "Zorome"
- FRANXX: Argentea
By the way, somebody somewhere said the children's nicknames are supposed to be puns on their code numbers? Not sure how that works...
For instance, 015 is read 'maru-ichi-go' (or 'zero-ichi-go') in Japanese, thus Ichigo. Same with Go-Ro (5-6).
It's been fun.A new ad has come out, which means two more characters and a new FRANXX. The girl's name is Code:556 "Kokoro" her phrases are "everyone's Madonna," "kind consideration," and "small curiosity." The boy's name is Code:214 "Futoshi" and his phrases are "optimistic," "does things at his own pace," "unexpectedly straightforward," and "gourmand." Their FRANXX is Genista, which seems to be stout and sturdy.
The reason I came up with that ship is because I was thinking of how the characters would interact with characters from other Giant Mecha anime if they appeared in a Super Robot Wars game, which is a habit that I've developed as of late. When I read from RedSavant that apparently the FRANXX was a girl who got turned into a giant robot, I thought that meant that she had sentience, so I wanted to play around with the idea of her being shipped with someone from the Brave Series. Since I assumed that by girl the wording meant "little kid'', the only one I thought would be a good match for her without the whole thing looking creepy was Drill Boy because he has a child-like mentality himself, so I thought they could connect pretty easily. The reason I joked about the show having a plot twist that would "ruin the ship" is because we don't really know much about that piece of information. It could be false information due to mistranslation, or the "girl" could turn out to be much older then a little kid (like a teen or even an adult).

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests. No, the female pilot become the robot's conciousness. You totally misread it.
Ah, my bad then.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Considering how A-1 Pictures is generally reviled while Trigger is generally praised, I can't wait. This is going to be interesting, to say the least.

Points of interest:
- The show's premiering on January 2018.
- In case anyone can't read kanji, which I imagine is 95% of us, me included, here's what the preview video's kanji reads:
A place that's shut, a place that's regulated.
There is only one reason to live—
It's our battle.
For the the sake of our fathers; for the sake of someday flying away; for
the sake of the world
For the sake of someday flying away—
But she (Zero Two) was different
Won't you be my Darling?
There's also a key visual, but that got leaked a while back I think. But hopefully this is high-res.
I made the main page for DARLING in the FRANXX.
Your receipt. You can keep the freakin' change.Show's first ep is out now.
Its very obvious that Imaishi directed the action sequences, because they are very Trigger.

This collab between Trigger and A-1 Pictures gives us its first key visual:

Between the color scheme and Shoulder pads, FRANXX looks like a Mecha Musume of Gunbuster, which fits with the former Gainax employees.
