So I'm watching King's Game for shit's and giggles. It's not really as hilariously bad as Evil or Live despite being more ridiculous. Protag is getting on my nerves.
Eventually it won't just be Nobuaki, but it certainly starts with him.
Yay. I'm on episode 4 now. I can't wait.
Oh my God. Episode 6 might be the funniest so far.

You gotta give credit to Ousama Game's creators for trying to offer an explanation because A Wizard Did It just wouldn't be as funny.
It seems people in that world have ridiculously high pain threshold. Got stabbed? Burning to death? Beat the pain with the Power of Suggestion!

I quit King's Game after episode 7. Evil or Live is still the best comedy of the season.
Unintentionally? I mean, the title is hilarious to begin with...
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.An analysis on the budding trend of mobile game adaptations − its pitfalls, but also its potential upsides.
If you can really call that "upsides"… I really feel like there are way too many anime made nowadays, and it's all gonna fall apart sooner or later.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. The amount of anime hasn’t increased much actually, there are only so many time slots, it’s the fact that animes have gone from 50 episodes to 12-13.
So how is Evil or Live? Asides from having a hilarious title?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Hilariously bad and an awful attempt at a Take That! at gaming.
Watch SymphogearPretty sure it's a "fffffffffucking millenials" rather than one towards gaming.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I love how the internet addiction barely comes up.
Konohanakitan was nice.
And the last episode has such an interesting twist: Yuzu-chan *is* the reason why Konohana-tei exists. Also, young Ookami-san is cute.

I've gotta say, Shuumatsu Ryokou is really something special. It's relaxed, melancholy, and kind of hopeful all at once. I like how it never really makes a judgement, or dwells on what's been left behind; it doesn't do heavy-handed, with the possible exception of the War episode. It's just about life, going on in a dying city at the edge of a dead world.
Has some really affecting lines in it, too. I think my favorite so far is You might be the last pilot in human history.
^Yeah, I liked that last episode a lot. It didn't say too much other similar shows haven't already, but it was cute and warm+fuzzy, so I'm down with it.

It's been fun.So, at the end of this season, here are my impressions on the few shows I've watched (whether I finished them or not):
Girl's Last Tour: I liked the first episode, I really did… but I didn't watch the rest. I was honestly torn between "this is quite interesting and cute" and "I'm not sure I want to watch a 12 episode anime adaptation of Gerry". I'll probably watch the rest someday, but right now I'm not really motivated, unless you tell me there's more to it than just two girls wandering in a wasteland…
Inuyashiki: Very promising premise, interesting characters, some scenes that are really heartwarming and others really terrifying… But in the end the show is just to poorly paced and its ending way too rushed to be all that memorable to me. Dunno, by the end I felt like the author didn't really have anything to tell me with that story, and that's a shame. Even if the manga was cancelled, the anime could have been the occasion to flesh out the ending a bit more. Just a couple more episodes would have been enough.
Dynamic Chord: I expected an abundance of flash-animated musical numbers and an overall So Bad, It's Good show… and there was a bit of that, but overall it quickly turned out to be just So Bad It's Boring. Dropped after 5 episodes.
Children of the Whale: I have mixed feelings about this adaptation. At first I felt like it tried to stick way too close to the source material, but then after 7 or 8 episodes it actually started to take more liberties, have better pacing, less voiceover narration, and the animation also got better somehow. It almost feels like the director changed midway… The first half isn't awful or anything, but if there is a season 2, I hope it keeps the level of quality of the second half, because that's the half that felt like they were actually doing an adaptation rather than a copy-paste.
Mahoutsukai no Yome: What else to say other than "fucking beautiful"? It is a little slow, but in a good way… Despite the darker moments, it feels like we're living daily life at the side of Chise and Ruth, and seeing her state of mind improve as the story goes on is very satisfying. There's a second cour ahead, so well, I expect it to stay that way.
Urahara: I tried my hardest to find somethig to like in this show, but it's just… bleh. It's like it wants to be weird, but forgot to be interesting in the process. Dropped after 3 episodes.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Techinally Girl's Last Tour is just two girls wandering a post-apocalyptic wasteland in the Kettenkrad... but so worth it. This is the show that takes a relatively simple premise, grabs it with both hands and milks it for all it can.
How's this for a reason?
The only resource you need for tropes
I've only heard that come to a head with the Colosseum episode. Otherwise, people seem okay with everything else.
I at least know the Anime News Network person reviewing those episodes seems really disappointed with them.
