I've decided to make a thread separate from the main Gundam thread for us to talk about all thing SD Gundam-related, including BB Senshi Sangokuden, SD Gundam Gaiden, Mobile Suit SD Gundam Festival, SD Gundam The Last World, SD Gundam Force, SD Gundam Musha Banchou Fuuunroku, Gundlander, ect ect. The reason I decided to make a separate thread for SD Gundam is because it is a sub-franchise of the Gundam franchise, much like how the Wario games are offshoots of the Super Mario Bros. franchise, so I thought it deserved it's own separate thread.

On the subject of SD Gundam Musha Banchou Fuuunroku, though, does anyone know where I can read it in English? I would really like to check it out.

Okay, so Tri Gunvoy looks awesome. I would love it if they made a figure for him. BTW, what story is Gunvoy from?

[up][up]I'm not talking about Tri, I'm talking about the original Blue Gunvoy. While I already figured that Tri Gunvoy is an original character made specifically for Last World, Blue Gunvoy's artwork looks a bit more "old-school", so I think he's from a previously established storyline.

Well, you should be more specific. The article on Gundam Wiki has image of Blue Gunvoy noted that he's from SD Gundam Jikuden Gun Voyager (SDガンダム時空伝 ガンボイジャー)

Quick question to anyone with knowledge about SD Command Chronicles; Are there any images for GDV-178S Super Gun Diver and Rogue Gundam? And if so, can I have the links to them?

Has anyone here ever heard of SpaceBoy_001? He's a fan artist who mostly does fanart for SD Gundam. The reason I'm bringing him up is because he made a concept for an opening of an SD Gundam anime, and I wanted to share it because IT LOOKS FRIGGIN' INCREDIBLE!

A new chapter for SD Gundam The Last World has come out, and with it a new header image with new characters. It features two gundams seemingly surrounded by Psycho Golems. The first one I'll point out is Barbatolander, a Gunlander made specifically for this story based off of the Barbatos. I think he has a cool design, not my favorite but still good. I don't know who the other one is, but I like her design. She looks cute. (At least, I'm assuming that she's female because her eyes are pink and she has eyelashes.)

Some new information about that girl Gundam has been released. Her name is Zanka Ninja Throne Drei, and she seems to be based off of the GNW-003 Gundam Throne Drei.

To answer your question on Musha Bancho Fuunroku, I've only seen the first chapter translated into English. The remaining chapters I've seen translated into Chinese. I have a physical copies of the manga in Japanese, and am currently translating them into English.

[up] Well I wish you the best of luck on that.

If it's alright, I wanna ask if you could give me some clarity on something. On "Ask The Tropers" I asked what type of work a Cardass series counts as on the site so that I could change the SD Gundam Gaiden page into a page for SD Gundam Gaiden: Sieg Zeon Hen. However, I met some opposition with someone saying that I should make the Sieg Zeon Hen page a separate page and leave Gaiden's page as is. I was in a moment of weakness at the time, so instead of explaining my reasoning I caved and agreed to not change the page. The reason why I wanted to change the page is because I felt that if were not enough changes from the source material to the adaptation, then it would be redundant to have two pages for ultimately the same work (Like if Naruto had both a page for the manga and the anime despite both covering the same story with the only difference being filler). So I have to ask, how many differences does Gaiden have between Sieg Zeon Hen, and are they enough to warrant a separate page?

That's a very difficult question...I don't fully know how different the original Carddas series is from the anime (or at least any differences that are as glaring as Seikihei Monogatari VS the Matsuri adaption), but I know that Carddas series has a few extra works that shed a little light on the series. (The Carddas Half series, for example.) There's also the manga, but that's not considered cannon mostly because of how it contradicts both mediums.

Using Wizard Nu as an example of contradiction: Manga: "The Gundam Clan of the olden times can't use magic. Therefore Nu, as in New, Gundam."

Carddas Half: Nu Gundam had the potential to use magic, but refused to become a mage because his family is a family of knights. It isn't until he realized he sucked at using a sword that he became a mage.

In summary, there are differences between both, but they are extremely minor from what I know, such as giving form to the Shadow Knights.

[up] Ah, I see. For now I think I'll just leave the anime's page as is and make the Cardass' page separate, as if I try to change the page I have a feeling that I'll be met with resistance.

On an unrelated note, a new SD Gundam series called SD Gundam Cross Silhouette has been recently announced. The link only leads to a teaser site for now, but more information will likely be shared later.

I've heard about that, and I was discussing that on G+ with a friend of mine. He guesses it's going to be something like EX-Standard. (Where the parts of the SD kit can be used for HG kits, even though I've seen someone put Legend BB Strike Ryuubi's equipment on an HG Strike, but that's besides the point.)

Personally, I'm more excited for the new arc of New World Advent Legend being released next month and Ganso Chaosgaia being released in a few months. (I'll freely admit: Kikōshin Densetsu is one of my favorite Knight Gundam works...)

[up] I just wonder what the name "Cross Silhouette" means. Is it some sort of special crossover where the SD Gundams fight against people from the main series? Will we have Commando Gundam fight against Setsuna piloting the 00 Qan[T], or Domon and God Gundam going up against Gundlander?

Also, have you heard of Gundam Build Divers and the "Brave SD-Kaiser"?

As cool as a SD VS Real Crossover would be, it would likely be very one-sided in favor of the SD Gundams. (And I'm not just talking about the Daishoguns, Gods of Gaiden, the Machine Soldiers, Final Formula, etc. Zero Gundam had the highest HP, or strength equivalent, at the end of his series, being 80,000. That was higher than SUPERIOR DRAGON at the end of Kikoshin Densetsu!!) G Gundam would probably be the closest to a fair match-up...As I mentioned, it's probably going to be something like EX-Standard where the parts can be used with HG kits...

I've seen the Prologue of Build Divers and the main MS, and I am not impressed (The 00 looks so unoriginal...). I'd watch it mostly because I think Hiroki Mutaguchi is on the mech animation team. (He's the man behind the SD fights in BF Try, and the reason there's so many hidden references in it.) Brave SD Kaiser? I've seen the orange Gundam on its own and it looks fine. The combined form...I had no idea how to react to that. It just looks a little weird to me because of how bluntly you can see the individual SD Gundams. To explain it better, the combined mech idea with SD Kaiser doesn't look as "nice" as Gungenesis.

[up] This is probably silly of me to ask, but do you have an image of Knight J Jackson from Shin SD Gundam Gaiden: Knight Gundam Monogatari and do you know who this cool looking Gundam is?

Also, check out this cool thing I found while searching "SD Gundam" on Twitter. I'm thinking that I want to get it someday for one of my major projects.

Here's J Jackson. The image you linked to on Tumblr is Wakamaru from Mushamaruden 2 if I'm correct. (My memory's fuzzy outside of Maruden 3)

Oh right, I almost forgot they made a bunch of handheld games for SD Gundam! The one you linked to specifically was for Chijou Saikyou Hen's Ark arc. Chijou Saikyou took place in three different places at once before bringing everyone together during the final battle. In order it was Abram (China), Ark (Japan), and Albion (India). The one in Ark focused around Musha Efukyuujuichi (AKA F91) and his childhood friends Full Armor and Heavy fighting Orochi Big Zam. I have a copy of the compilation volume of Musha Fuunroku it's in and I have translation notes, but it may need a revision since I did it back in 2014 and I wasn't as experienced as I am now...

New teaser for SD Gundam Cross Silhouette has been announced earlier today, and it seems to have something to do with inner frames. It looks like more information will be announced at 2/23 12:00 (Probably Noon considering it's Japan time).

Hobby Japan beat them to it. It seems to be an SD Gundam version of RG series or MG series, where there's a frame inside. Seems to be meant to encourage customizability. I need to see more of the lineup to determine if I'm going to buy this....My brother would probably want the Crossbone though.

[up] Oooh, that sounds cool. I hope they do figures for characters from the SD Gundam series', like Knight Gundam or some of the Sangokuden characters. The official website has multiple suits in the background that may be an indication of what will appear in the lineup is the future, including the Zaku II, the Zaku II Commander Type, the Efreet, the Zeta Gundam, the [G] Gundam Ground Type, the Blue Destiny Unit 1, the Unicorn Gundam, the Banshee, the Crossbone Gundam X-1 Full Cloth, the Crossbone Gundam X-2, the Crossbone Gundam X-2 Kai, the Crossbone Gundam X-3, the Freedom Gundam, and even the Zeta Zaku of all things. Another thing I saw in the website was the two models for RX-78-2 Gundam being associated with Super Gachapon World: SD Gundam X and SD Gundam G Generation Genesis for Nintendo Switch, so I assume this line was made to tie-in with those two games. Also, by the look of how the models are shaped, I assume that this is meant to replace the "SD Gundam EX-Standard" line. I really liked that line so I'm sad to see it go, but I think this is a proper evolution of the concept.

As a side-note, I got my copy of SD Gundam space-time transfer gun Voyager 1 today. I ordered it from Amazon as a Birthday present for myself. It's in Japanese, but I'm hoping to use it as a motivator for learning the language.

Really? I heard that a lot of people didn't like EX-Standard. (Mostly because they just re-released existing kits without anything to make them special, like the BB Senshi line). Gachapon World and G Gen were the main inspiration for the proportions of the kits, it seems. The SD frame is meant to resemble more of the modern BB kits though while the Cross frame resembles G Gen. They just need to announce a Re-GZ to get me completely sold on this line. If Cross Silhouette is going to be the successor to EX-Standard, there may not be any kits from the main SD series. I mean, they have no reason to since there's the Legend BB line for everyone in general and Ganso for fans who have a P-Bandai account in Japan.

I have a copy of the Gunvoyager manga, actually. It's a neat concept, but I haven't been able to get into the manga as much as I did with the Musha Gundam and Knight Gundam series. (I haven't seen enough of Command Chronicles to get an opinion and Gunlander just confused me) Also, if you're going to learn Japanese, I recommend memorizing hiragana and katakana first, since they make up the foundation of the language. The hard part will be memorizing kanji. That said, I wish you luck!

[up] Sorry it took so long for me to reply back.

The most exposure I've had with The Last World is going to it's page on Gundam Wikia and the Yatate Bunko website to see if any new images have been released. I'll admit I wasn't keen on it at first because I didn't like the idea of SD Gundams tranforming into full-scale forms. It is one of the series I want to give a page to in my SD Gundam franchise project for TVTropes thought, and I have been wanting to check it out for myself, so thanks for the link.

On an unrelated note, have there been any characters in the SD Gundam franchise based off of the ACA-01 Gaw?
