The one in the IS crowner is well into the green...both are good, but I personally lean toward the one in the crowner.
I agree with OP. The one in the crowner is quite old-fashioned and even confusing. I support the countersuggestion.
They're both aesthetically pleasing to me, and I don't share the OP's concern that the one in the crowner will confuse editors into thinking that it doesn't include more modern works. I think I prefer the one in the crowner. But the suggestion should be put on an Image Links page.
In fact, I think that we should find examples of all the more common formats and put them on the Image Links page, with a note in the description that they're there for reference.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I concur.

For the page image, I would prefer the crowner. IIRC, there are actors playing multiple parts and it's presented in an aesthetically pleasing way.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they pretty"Pleasing"? Having two brackets on the sides of a list of characters is utterly confusing to me.
I like the crowner pic.
Check out my fanfiction!... yes, pleasing. There's more to the crowner pic than just a list of names, including the curly brackets.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyFor reference, this is the crowner suggestion at wiki size. It was at 8:2 votes last I checked.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I've hooked a crowner with the suggestion that was in the IS crowner, the OP, and three new pics that I found.
This one never got bumped for votes, so I'll give it another coupla days. Two in the green.
...or four days. This is definitely ready to call, so the new pic's up and tagged. Caption?
Hearing nothing, let's lock up.
