So all the death flags, all of them!
A few minutes into the episode and I was ready to WMG that the beasts were made from humans based on Rhan's heavy hinting, then they all but confirm it by the end of the episode. Heh. This probably means that the seventeen beasts could be the transformed braves. Chtolly's latest Elq dream also becomes a lot more interesting when you consider this. It doesn't seem... metaphorical, so maybe a brave can physically gatecrash their way into a beast or something? Or possibly that white room was some sort of "egg" where a beast is being formed. Or maybe Elq is even one of those so-called Visitors? Or even something else entirely.
Aww, a sweet marriage proposal. I guess since it's a foregone conclusion we're okay with just pulling out all the death flags.
Nephren makes a SukaSuka without Chtolly more bearable. Please don't kill her off too.
Ctholly endearing herself to everyone on the ship was adorable.
Her dreams are getting more specific, but weirder with each episode.
Willem actually confessed? Man, this is great. Except it looks like a death flag...
Aww shit, that revelation. Should have seen that coming.
So, I know this is a bit gauche, but how's the series shaping up in people's opinions? I kind of fell off it after episode 2 when I got busy, but I want to catch back up, and hopefully it's still worth it?
It's been fun. Some people thought that there would be more action packed, but its more about the people that wait for the people from battle to come back home.
Its a fun series, and I'd recommend reading the LN after the anime finishes.
Watch SymphogearI'd say it's worth it. There are some fresh ideas in there and while the writing could be tightened up generally it's still decent with some particularly good bits here and there.
Ep 11 is here.
Well, may as well insert Growing Wings from Drakengard next episode:
Hoo boy. Elq confirmed to be a god that Lillia killed. And leprechauns are made from dead children's souls AND some bits of Elq, apparently. And if I'm understanding correctly the leprechauns have little regard for their own lives because of Elq's influence, whom in turn was influenced by Lillia's selflessness? Hmmmm. Tempted to dive into that LN info link I stashed a while back. This world has its hooks into me.
Seniorous is such a badass sword it can kill the unkillable.
Bittersweet kiss followed by Willem showing the beasts the guy who kicked Eboncandle's ass.
May you fare well in your final act, Chtholly. Your smugness will forever be remembered.
NOOOOO don't take Nephren too
So Elq was the last "Visitor" and she commanded the Guardian Dieties to destroy humanity before they could destroy the world? And then Lillia killed her, ensuring the end of the world. Nice Job Breaking It, Hero.
Also Ctholly was just Elq dream all this time, and now the letter is waking up. Very tragic.
Gee, things are very dire. Chtholly's technically dead and there's so many timeres that Rhantolk, Nopht and even Nephren might not survive this (I think they will though). Elq's grand appearance will be interesting.
From what I got from Elq's explanation, Those gods came down to stop humanity from destroying the world. Lillia killing Elq should have saved the world...except it didn't since humans just turned into the beasts that ended the world. In other words, humanity was screwed either way.
If all the Leprechauns were created with a piece of Elqthen does that mean that any of them could've become Elq? Also, if this is true, then I guess Suwong would have been aware that he was using pieces of Elq in creating them.

It would seem that humans were turning into beasts (probably some experiment Gone Horribly Right), which prompted the Visitors to descend to wipe out humanity. But this also led to humanity fighting back against the Visitors, and in the end everyone loses. Maaaan. Yeah, whether humanity defeated the Visitors or not, it would seem they were screwed either way.
And I would assume that, yes, all leprechauns will end up being taken over by Elq. Or rather, reverting back to their original form. Chtholly is a special case in that Elq seems to have managed to preserve her personality at the last second, but we know that's not gonna stick...
Who ordered a a truckload of kicks in the gut? Not me but I got them anyway!
This show man, this show fucked me up. I cried like a little bitch.
Seriously this was the show, basically.

Well, that certainly ended on a high note
...I really hope there's a second season
That it did, Hylarn, that it did.
I've definitely been left wanting more.

"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."It's a LN advert, so you gotta learn Japanese or Chinese to get more!
The EX volume recently got translated — there are some materials the anime could have included that would've fix its pacing in the mid episodes.
That was quite an ending to this show. I think this was a good stopping point.
I felt bad for Willem when he was talking about how useless he was when it came to saving people he cared about. At least Nephren didn't die under his watch...right? Ithea being unable to hold her tears back also got to me.
Are you going, to scarborough fair?
Watch SymphogearI choose to believe that Nephren did not die despite what Lizard guy's funeral photos indicate. Souwong's lifepulse detected two blips, so it would be logical to assume that two out of the three who fell are still alive, and it's more narratively coherent for Chtholly to be the one who died. Plus that scene with the baby at the end, though I have no idea how that works. I guess leprechauns that die are reborn, perpetuating a cycle of tragedy? Ouch.
I need a season 2. There is a lot more meat to the story that we simply haven't gotten to yet. Can't stop myself so I'm going to go ahead and look for some translations of the LN, and delving into that link I posted a while back.
What a ride. Good decision to not cram all the volumes into 12 episodes, even if it still feels a little rushed and lacking. Chtholly's tale was tragic, but it sure was beautiful.
That's actually the case.
I've read some spoilers about what happens later on and... wow things get crazy.
Um, for which part? Willem and Nephren being alive or that baby being reincarnated Chtholly?
Already found the fan translation site, with convenient EPUB files. Here I go! Or, well, I'll get to them when I wake up.
Both of those.
I agree with that. It would've been sad if it was just one lifepulse because it would more than likely be Willem and he would've been aimlessly wandering from place to place, seeking only death.
Because, without saying what it actually is, thats NOT the beasts actual origins. The real truth isn' revealed yet, and likely won't be revealed yet until we get a possible season 2. And the scene with lilly and elq is literal. That will also be revealed in season 2 if we get one.
