Hikaru's House (Kitchen/Dining Room -> Entry Hall)

Hikaru frowned in thought in response to Wo's question.

"The biggest reason is that a long time ago, before our civilization had really gotten off the ground, there was a massive war that mostly men fought in. It was devastating enough that by the time it was over, there were more women than men left. So women took over roles that would normally be filled by men. From there the advancement of technology allowed for women to maintain their dominance, which stuck until the present day."

She shrugged. "Or so I've been taught."

When Raquel expressed clear displeasure at the situation, she let out a sigh before giving Raquel a completely understanding look.

"I know. I knew this plan was flawed from the start, and well...." She frowned heavily. "...I'm probably not making the best first impression as it is."

She looked as if she was about to say more, then suddenly the others pointed out that a newcomer had arrived. She glanced in the direction of the doorway as she heard some knocking and a new voice she didn't recognize, although given the distance she didn't hear exactly what it was asking.

"I...actually don't know," she said, "I didn't have a specific number in mind when I cast the spell, though I wasn't expecting a whole lot of people. I also had been assuming that I wouldn't be getting any more people after you arrived." She frowned thoughtfully. "...I call it a 'spell,' but in reality it's probably better described as a particularly complex computer program. With reality being literally infinite, I suppose it isn't too surprising that it would still be running right now."

She turned to the group and made a small bow. "In any event, I should probably go explain things to her. I'll be right back."

At that she turned and made her way back to the front door. She took a deep breath before opening it up to see the youngest girl yet standing before her. There was a brief frown on her face, before she quickly turned it into what she hoped was a welcoming smile.

"Hello, and welcome to my humble abode," she said, before offering Sayaka a quick bow, "My name is Hikaru."

Once she stood back up again, she continued, "I'm sure you're really confused right now, but I promise I'll explain everything. The short version is that I, um...basically kidnapped you as part of a desperate and extremely flawed plan to save countless worlds from a premature end. You're not the only girl who's been roped into this, if that makes you feel better...."

She sighed and frowned. "...Believe me or not, but I promise I won't hurt you." At that, she stepped aside to give Sayaka room to enter. "...You're welcome to come in, if you'd like...?"

Hikaru's Refuge (Entrance) - The Welcome Party

Sayaka didn't grasp the significance of the two spiders crawling up the door, though did blink at the fact that they crawled to just about eye level to her of all heights.

She tried to contact Kyubey, remembering that he liked to keep in touch with her telepathically, but alas, to no avail. Luckily, another girl her senior opened the door at that moment, providing a curt explanation as to what she was doing here. Unluckily, that explanation was even more alarming, in part from the revelation that she had been kidnapped along with some unknown number of other people and in part from the claim that worlds upon worlds were in mortal danger.

"Riiiight..." Sayaka answered, suspicious. She took up Hikaru's offer and went into the house, though was prepared to transform if she saw anything out of place. "Where is this, anyway? I was on a bridge a few moments ago."

Hikaru's House — Gonna need some context here

Hikaru, after seeing Raquel's reaction to her plan, admitted that she wasn't making a good first impression of herself.

"Not really, no"

The new girl at the other side of the door was an unexpected addition to Hikaru's little group of multiverse saviors even to the summoner herself. Apparently, her spell acted like a computer program. It simply kept running in the background and picked up the blue-haired girl because she fit with Hikaru's specifications.

"Uh, what's a computer? I think you people mentioned it before but no one told me what it is. Another code-word?"

Location Header - Even Though We're All in the Same Place

"What's a computer!" Inori said excitedly to Raquel. "Why, they're only the most important invention of the modern age!"

She pulled out a swipe-down tab, the large hard-light rectangle manifesting in-between her outstretched hands. "There's all sorts of neat stuff on computers! You can do just about anything. Math."

A simple calculator appeared on the holographic 'screen', showing a calculator proving that 5 plus 5 was indeed ten.

"Cake recipes." A picture of a red velvet cake with a bunch of text next to it.

"Geography!" A map of Tokyo showing all the bus stops.

"Music!" A preview of a Bon Jovi music video.

"Video!" A preview of a Bon Jovi music video.

"Games!" A rather inappropriate screen from a visual novel, which she quickly swiped away from with a nervous laugh.

"Photos!" A selfie of Inori at the front row of a Bon Jovi concert.

"Books!" A bunch of text written in some sort of lunar runic script.

"And best of all, cats!" A picture of a rather cute cat.

"And that's just what I have here! There's a thing called the internet, and it's amazing. It lets you instantly communicate with everyone else on the planet, all at the same time. And those people are always making new content, so it never runs out!"

Neko Neko Neurosis! Will Wo Willingly Pay Attention To The Potential End of Existence?!
Huh. Well, okay, she wasn't sure why men would be sent out to fight instead of both of them, but that made enough sense. Wo nodded to Hikaru and said "I see, then. Thanks for sharing that."

And, while their host left to bring in someone else to the party, Wo was even further distracted by a topic she was very intimate with. "Yeah, computers are great," she chimed in along with Inori. She wondered if her status as technically being a computer made her biased on this opinion.

Inori did bring up one thing that seemed completely strange. The cake enticed, Bon Jovi excited, and the visual novel scene confused her, but the cat was just out of her own realm of imagination.

"Wait, wait. Is that what a cat looks like?" she asked Inori. "I thought they were more like...like..."

Describing cats wasn't a pastime for her, so her catcabulary was limited. She was ready to awkwardly drop the conversation before coming up with something. Wo cleared her throat, and carefully enunciated "Drawing?" at Inori.

Lo and behold, a blank white space appeared. With all four of her tentacles working in unison, she quickly churned out a shitty picture of what a cat should look like. "Like that, exactly! They're usually different colors, but still."

Hikaru's House (Entry Hall -> Dining Room/Kitchen)

"The short answer is that you're not in your home world any more, but...that's probably obvious," Hikaru replied to Sayaka, "This particular world could be anywhere from right next door to your own world to many universes away. I wouldn't know an exact distance, sadly; reality tends to shift around a lot."

Then she motioned towards the dining room and kitchen. "Um...Everybody else is in the kitchen, currently, if you want to meet them. I could also get you some tea or something, if you'd like?"

Assuming Sayaka took her up on her offer, Hikaru would then lead the way back to the kitchen, just in time to hear the conversation about computers.

"To elaborate, a computer is a device that can be set to run a certain set of instructions automatically. A lot of the time, they're meant to do all the long, complex mathematical equations that people don't have the time to do. While they're often associated with more technologically advanced societies, they're not unheard of elsewhere. If you've heard of an abacus, it's a similar principle."

She then left Wo and Inori to talk more about them as she turned her attention back to Sayaka.

"So, I presume you've seen the black spot in the sky?"

From there, Hikaru would then elaborate further on the mission she was trying to accomplish.

"...Unfortunately, there's no way for me to send you home or even get you in touch with home at the moment, but I promise I'm going to rectify that as soon as possible. Speaking of which...."

She then turned to Fate. "I think now would be a good time to get working on that. Just...not in here. I have a specialized room for tinkering." Then she turned to the others again. "Unless anyone else needs something before we get to work...?"

Hikaru's Refuge (Entry Hall ==> Dining Room) - A Cosmic Mission, Is It?

Sayaka followed Hikaru to the dining room, even as she shook her head at the offered tea. "I'm not really hungry right now, actually, but thanks anyway."

She spared a look at the others at the table, overhearing a line of questioning about what a computer was. Did that mean at least a few of them were from worlds that didn't have modern technology? It seemed like, from the sound of it.

When Hikaru asked about the black spot in the sky, she nodded and remembered that she had seen it here too despite the previous revelation that she wasn't in her world anymore. "Yeah, it's been all over the daily news lately. No one’s figured out what it is yet but there's been a lot of commotion over it. It just showed up out of nowhere one day..."

Hikaru then explained in greater detail the threat they were facing, where it came from, how she didn't really think this plan through, and apologized that Sayaka would unfortunately be stuck with this mission for a while...at least until she and another girl, blonde and dressed in a black uniform, figured out a way.

"Well..." Sayaka began. "I'd have appreciated a warning before getting pulled from my world, buuuut..."

She pointed dramatically at Hikaru. "If it's a matter of saving worlds' worth of people, you can count me in!"

"Of course that's what a cat looks like!" Inori stated to Wo. "You must just have different types on your world. But do your cats also like laser pointers and hate cucumbers?"

"How many books?" she added to Maia, letting out a giggle. "All the books, silly. Even the biggest books are only a couple megs uncompressed, that's nothing. I mean they don't even have video."

Maia stared at Inori, a, in disbelief, and b, not knowing what a "meg" was, though it was obviously something relatively small. In context... Some sort of unit of size? Which was odd, because the computer looked rather small, and many books were rather large. Her spellbook, for instance, which was nearly as wide as her forearm and a bitch to carry.

She finally resolved to ask just ask Inori. "What is... a 'meg'? And what's video?"

Hikaru's Refuge, Dining Room — The internet is for cats

Raquel was a bit overwhelmed by the impressive array of information Inori showed her. This girl's computer was able to show things that as far as Raquel knew, shouldn't be possible like moving images, or a speaker that fit in her glove apparently. She kept her mouth open through the whole display and tried to examine the hard-light screen. Hikaru chimed in to actually explain the science behind a computer which to Raquel basically sounded, a really complex and powerful calculator that could fit on an arm.

"How do you make the glass move like that?" eventually, she also tried to tackle the very challenging task of wrapping her head around the concept of the internet "So, all these people spend all day... creating pictures of cats?"

Well, if they were anything like Wo, that interweb was a scary place.

"That thing looks horribly deformed"

Without even looking up from Inori's screen—who now was talking about having the ability to fit an entire library on her computer, Raquel addressed Sayaka.

"So, who are you?"

Hikaru's House (Kitchen/Dining area)

Before they could delve further into the matter of obtaining the interdimensional transmitter, Hikaru had to go off to greet a newcomer that had belatedly been picked up. What was most intriguing was that the way Hikaru described how her spell actually worked, like a complex program, was much similar to how her own did. The similarities seemed to never end ...

Meanwhile, the summoner's comment seemed to have sparked some discussions, as at least some of the other clearly didn't have technology such as computers back in their homes. Which might create some problems when it came to trying to contact their worlds ...

Inori and Wo went abouf trying to explain, with the former pulling out some sort of hard-light display to show some functionalities. They didn't end up tellng much on what a computer actually was, which was supplied by Hikaru when she came back with newcomer.

There was some more confusion from Raquel and Maia, so Fate tried to clarify, "It is not glass, it is a sort of projection, mainly just light, kind of like this," as she had Bardiche create a holographic screen, displaying some text on it and passed her hand through it to demonstrate, then pulling it back, as went on, more for Maia's benefit now, "And that seems to be a measure of data, not of physical size, but of how much information can be digitally stored. A seemingly small but advanced machine can store much more of it than it would first appear. As for video ... It is recorded footage, images and sound continously capture by another type of machine, which can then be played back. It is what I will be using to try to contact home, using a device to transmit such footage instantly to another place ..."

Then after Hikaru seemingly had supplied the new arrival with the details about the mission, which she seemed to have readily accepted, despite obvious and understandable reservtions regarding the manner she had gotten draft into it.

She then spoke warmly to her, "Then welcome aboard. I know these are odd circunstances, to say the least, but regardless, it stil is nice to meet you and good to have more people to help to deal with such a grave matter."

Hikaru then spoke of going to specialized room to start working on getting the means to communicate with their homes, to which she readily nodded and replied, "Yes, it really should try to accomplish it as soon as possible," before turning to Inori and saying, "As previouly mentioned, your assistance in the matter much appreacite, if we are to manage to contact worlds beyond my own. Although given that some of the others demonstrately do not possess the kind of needed technology, I don't know how we are supposed to go about to acheive it for their homes ..."

Hikaru's House (Kitchen/Dining Room -> Utility Room)

"For what it's worth, I actually did try working out a way to warn you beforehand, but unfortunately I couldn't figure out a means to do so consistently given the spell's selection was random," Hikaru said, "Of course, if I was actually intelligent I would have come up with a better plan than a spell with a random selection, but that's besides the point."

She shook her head before offering Sayaka a small, grateful smile. "In any event, I can't thank you enough for your assistance."

Then she turned to the group as a whole.

"I know the general world where the first Alpha Device is, but considering you pretty much just got here I'd like to make sure you're comfortable before sending you anywhere. So feel free to make yourselves at home, and just come get me when you're ready to head out. Or if there's anything else you want or need," she said with another small smile, before pointing through the entry way that lead to the back hallway, "Since you're probably going to be here for a while, there's bedrooms up on the second floor. The stairs are just in that hallway there. The first room to the right of the stairs is mine, but the others are all free."

Finally, she turned to Inori. "If you'd like to help me and...um...." She glanced at Fate with a confused expression for a few moments, before just gesturing in her direction, "...her with this communication business, it would be much appreciated. If you'd rather do something else, though, I'm not going to force you. I'm sure we'll be able to figure something out...." Under her breath, she added, "...I hope."

Then she turned to Fate and nodded.

"In any event, if you'd like to follow me...."

Assuming Fate and possibly Inori did, Hikaru would then lead them through the dining room entryway and back hallway, to the room directly opposite of the dining room. This room appeared to be some kind of utility area; it was completely barren of decor except for a single window. Most of it was occupied by a ton of black storage bins, some stacked on top of each other so high they reached the ceiling. There were two washer/dryers next to the room's sole window.

Most importantly for what they'd set out to do, there was a workbench of sorts standing next to another entryway. On the wall above the workbench were a number of tools that all appeared to be geared towards working with machinery, and the bench itself was covered with various unfinished gadgets.

Hikaru walked over to the bench and cleared off a space to the best of her ability before turning to Fate.

"First things first: can you describe the mechanisms for your communications systems? Before I can use it for a basis for anything, I'd need to look it over, and I can't summon it here if I don't know what it's like."

Casa de Hikaru - Kitchen/Dining Room -> Utility Room

"Coming!" Inori said, hopping after Hikaru. As she got to the doorway, she paused as she thought of something. "If you guys wanna know what a cat looks like, I got the best idea!" She reached her hand into her quick-access belt, sinking it in until it looked as though half of her arm was shoved into her skirt until she pulled it out of the accessory again. Except this time, she was holding a cute and cuddly little grey cat in her hand.

"This is Ether, she's the best!" she called to the other magical girls as she threw the cat at them before continuing to follow Hikaru.

Once she got to the back room, which definitely didn't reminder her of the sort of storage room serial killers had in movies, she thought for a moment about Hikaru's question. "You know there's so many different communications protocols I use, it would be pretty tough to narrow it down to just one. I mean I have IEEE 802.11, 4G LTE, and a whole bunch of others! I even use LF for making sure my watch is accurate!"

She exhaled. "But I guess they all use light. SO you know, just get something that makes a wave and it should be fine."

My Cat-Parents are Dead
"...Well, I mean, cats are sort of extinct where I come from, so..."

Whatever admission of post-apocalyptic reality Wo had made, at least it was quiet enough that it got swept up in conversation, lost to the tides forever. Raquel's remark would've been scathing, if it weren't exactly what she was looking for: so cats also were rendered in some kind of unrealistic style in old works? If that's true, maybe humans did place an inordinate amount of interest in them...

Man, the end of days is going on, but you'll still learn something new up 'till the last!

Wo the anthropologist then got an up-close and personal look at what cats actually look like as she received a face full of pussy from Inori. She only barely managed to catch it, more puzzled at how and why she was storing a living thing inside one pocket, but nevertheless Ether came to rest in her arms.

And, knowing proper cat etiquette well, she started to pet it...with five arms at the same time.

Hikaru's Refuge - ... Kitty?
Maia stared in confusion at the sudden cat. Cats were relatively common back home, but they were usually larger and fluffier. This was small and, while fluffy, rather short-haired.

Maia tentatively reached over and scratched Ether behind the ears.

Hopefully Ether was a nice cat.

Granted, plate gauntlets would make any scratching or biting somewhat ineffective.

Hikaru's Refuge (Entry Hall ==> Dining Room) - Meet the Hero of Justice!

"Hey, don't sweat it. We're on a bit of a time crunch anyway. At least you got a team now."

Hikaru excused herself to work out some communications method with one of the other girls, who greeted her warmly, grateful for another person to fight for their cause, before following her off. In the meanwhile, Sayaka was free to do as she wished, explore around, talk to the others brought here...

She went over to the table, where a dark-skinned girl asked who she was while the rest argued about cats.

She pointed dramatically. "Great of you to ask! My name is Sayaka Miki, hero of justice and defender of Mi—"

Before Sayaka could finish her answer one of them pulled a cat of her own from her pocket and chucked it at the rest of the group before leaving, followed by another petting the little fluffball with five arms. That probably shouldn't have been as weird as it was, considering what she'd experienced since the start of this month, but the unusualness of it still surprised and fascinated her.

"Wow," she interjected, petting the cat herself.

Hikaru's Dining Room — Cynics are in right now

Fate's explanation just raised more questions but at this point Raquel saw it was wise to drop the subject for now because her whole reality was starting to break down.

"...ok. Light. I'm not sure how you can power something like that without shiploads of coal but nothing here makes much sense anyway"

Hikaru called Inori and Fate to another room to... Raquel wasn't sure what. The girl then told everyone else that they were free to do anything and even suggested exploring the rooms on the second floor. Were they actually going to live here for a while? That was kind of creepy. Still, if this was their temporary home, Raquel was going to make the most of it and sent her spiders upstairs to claim the first room available. The arachnids crowded the floor of the room and even the bed there, just to make sure no one would try to sleep there while she wasn't looking. The sight of the bed, though, made Raquel feel a bit sleepy. It was nighttime just a few minutes ago and Raquel was starting to suffer the symptoms of jet lag. You know, just without a jet.

The discussion about cats gave Inori an idea and before leaving the room, she took a living cat out of her belt magician-style and threw it at the other girls. She was probably a summoner too and was just trying to mess with them. That wouldn't have been able survive on a such a small space otherwise. And while cats weren't really Raquel's thing, she couldn't help but smile at the sight of it.

The newcomer, some girl called Saykah Mickey, introduced herself as a hero of justice. She couldn't be more than a couple of years younger than Raquel but she really should know better than to play pretend like a child when she was already teenager.

"I have the feeling you are going to fit right in" she told her with a half-dismissive half-sarcastic tone.

Hikaru's House (Kitchen/Dining Area -> Utility Room)

Hikaru displayed some confusion while trying to refer to her, so Fate realized that while she had introduced herself to the initial group, she had never done so to their host.

"Oh right, where are my manners ... My name is Fate," she replied as she went to follow Hikaru to the room. Inori also went after them, but paused for a bit and pulled out a cat out of her belt and threw it at the other girls! It wasn't if she was unused to creatures suddenly appearing seemingly out of nowhere, one of her daughters was a summoner after all ... It still, even considering that, it was rather strange. Was it a rather literal pocket dimension? It was best not to think about it ...

Once they entered the room and Hikaru cleared up the space on which they would to work, she asked about the characteristics of the device in question.

"Right ... The device itself would be a relatively simple portable console, with a thin screen for operating it, though actual communications are done through one projected above it. Now, you said your spell picked us by random, so if you are to reach into my world again, I think you will require some help," as she finished speaking, a screen projected in front of them, filled with flashing numbers and letters, She then added, "There are the dimension coordinates for my world, Mid-Childa. I hope that helps at least somewhat. As for how the device connects, it seems to by, incidentially, calculating complex coordinates like these. Fortutely, my spells work much like yours, Hikaru, like programs. It is part of why we have Devices like Bardiche here, to help us work through the complex calculations involved faster, thought I still am naturally gifted at it and so should be able to help with this."

Turning a bit more towars Inori as well, she then further added, "And from what I have gathered so far, Inori seems to come from an alternate version of Earth, a world I'm rather familiar with in my own universe. She seems to come from the same country as my two best friends who hail from there, in fact. So with some adjustments, I should be able work something out for her case. Wo and the newcomer seem to have comparable technology in their world, but we will have a bit more of work cut out for us to figure out how to reach them. The real issue will be with Raquel and Maia, who seem to have no such technology to speak of in their homes ..."

Hikaru's House (Utility Room)

"A lot of things create light waves, but relatively little of those can actually be used for communication," Hikaru replied to Inori with a small frown, "As a bit of an extreme example, I don't think we'd be able to make any kind of communication device out of a flashlight, let alone one that's able to communicate between worlds. Even if we could, I wouldn't want to keep you waiting for weeks and weeks for a call home. So I'm looking for a more specific device that we can use as a starting point."

Then she turned to Fate and listened to what she had to say.

"Well, the spell I used to bring you here was a little different from the sorts I usually cast. Among other reasons, it was random partially because I didn't have anyone specific in mind when I cast it. If I did have someone or something specific in mind, I can usually summon it without issue...within certain limits." She sighed. "As another extreme example, in theory I could summon an Alpha Device to me because I know exactly what I'm looking for. However, if I actually could summon Alpha Devices like that then I wouldn't have bothered you at all. Just bringing you here took a lot out of me; something on the Alpha Devices' level would likely kill me if I tried."

She shook her head. "...But that's going into a different story entirely. Anything to increase my chances of getting the right device is extremely helpful." She studied the coordinates Fate showed her for a couple of moments, then nodded. "All right, I think I have an idea. Here goes nothing...."

At that she once again held out her staff so that it was perpendicular to the floor. A few moments later, a rune much like the ones that brought the girls to this place appeared on the workbench in front of her, although it was considerably smaller. A few moments after that, a machine that looked an awful lot like the one Fate had described materialized on top of the rune, before the rune vanished.

Hikaru looked the device over for a few moments before turning to the other two.

"Well, I hope I got the right thing. In any event, before we start worrying about how to use it to contact the others' worlds, we should probably see if it can even reach Fate's. If it can, then that might make our job a lot easier. If not...." She frowned heavily. "...Well, hopefully we can figure something else. In any event, you should probably try it first, Fate. It is from your world; you'd know how to use it more than I would."

Hikaru's Utility Room

"Um, but semaphore does... ack, nevermind, whatever, God." Inori said impatiently to Hikaru.

"That's not the point, I mean there's a lot of stuff we can do here. If you could make like a fixed satellite signal or something then that's the longest-range stuff you can do to reach Earth. Unless you only want to make calls to NASA."

She went around the newly-summoned device to give it a look. "That's a preeeeeeeetty useful spell you have there."

Also Ether meowed really happily cause she's a chill cat and just likes hanging out and being cute and fluffy and stuff so it's no big deal.

Hikaru's House (Utility Room) - Estabilishing contact

Fate carefully listened to Hikaru's explanation, not having much to say regarding it afterwards. Then the summoner did suceed in bring something to them. She immediatly went to check it over.

With a satisfied smile, she turned back to Hikaru and said, "Yes, this should be it. Well, here goes nothing ... Oh, I should warn that, even back home and without that great a distance between dimensions, there can be a delay of at least a few seconds during a video call. So even this is able our homes, there may be some difficulties and we might have to do with just a recorded message instead, which is still better than nothing ... Well, let's do ths then..." she then began to carefully insert commands into the machine, sometimes glancing at the screen that Bardiche had projected. As she did so, she then further added, "One last thing, Hikaru ... One of the people I will likely ended up contacting if this does work would be a friend of mine, Hayate, who also happens to be my superior in the organization we both serve in... And I'm afraid that once she learns about this whole situation, she will almost certainly insist on sending our forces here to help stop this all and I'm not sure if you would want that ..."

Hikaru's House (Utility Room)

"The thing about a satellite signal is that it's something you'd need to be in the same world to get any real usage out of," Hikaru said with another frown, "And by 'world,' I'm not just talking about a planet. I mean an entire universe." She rubbed her chin in thought. "Though if this device fails, then trying to work with a satellite or something similar might do the job. Though even in my world, satellites are big and bulky machines...." She shook her head. "...I think I'm getting ahead of myself here."

She smiled sheepishly as Inori commented on the usefulness of her spell. "Well, I did say that people considered me to be the greatest summoner of our society." Once again, she didn't seem particularly proud of that fact. "Though I guess technically pretty much every mage in my world was technically a summoner, given how our spells worked. I'm a 'summoner' in that my specialty lies in bringing physical objects across time and space, whereas a combat mage would be focused on summoning things like fireballs or lightning bolts." Then she frowned again. "Before you ask, I have a lifetime's worth of training behind me as well as a specialized PMD. This isn't something that somebody can learn how to do within a day or so."

Explanation done, she turned to Fate.

"...On one hand, I'd appreciate all the help I can get. On the other hand, I really don't want any more people getting wrapped in this than absolutely necessary." She sighed. "I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get to it."

Hikaru's Refuge (Dining Room) - Empty Stomachs Are Apparently Great for Making People Calm Down

"What's that supposed to mean?" Sayaka asked, sounding offended, looking up from the cat (but still scratching it behind the ear). "I was about to say I protect the city of Mitakihara from the witches that cause mayhem in the shadows. And when I say 'witch', I mean 'horrible monstrosities that trap people in their little labyrinths and kill without mercy'. I can do this!"

As if to undermine the image she was trying too hard to create, Sayaka's stomach growled at that exact moment, drawing attention to the lunch she had not had. She blushed slightly in embarrassment, before seeming to take the hint her body was giving her. "Eheheheh...guess I was more hungry than I thought. I'm gonna get something from Hikaru's fridge, hold on."

With that she roamed back toward the kitchen to check Hikaru's fridge for edibles, assuming no one stopped her.

Kitchen, Nek-Wo Deth
As it seemed that the Ether Petting Party was drawing to a close, probably because she dominated so much real estate on the cat's stomach, Wo decided to put him in a safe place: on top of her head. Her hands passed off the cat to her tentacles, and plopped him right in the middle of the great black plane that lay up there.

Now, she would've asked some more questions about cats, but a bigger mystery came up. Why on Earth would someone's stomach make vocalizations while hungry? That's the role of the mouth and, as far as she knew, stomachs don't even have mouths!

Wo immediately stopped Sayaka dead in her tracks, rapidly flying right next to her as she opened the dreaded fridge. "Explain that noise your torso just made. Right. Now."
