I have the setting and environment figured out, yet I'm looking for solid plot ideas for a detective/noir story? Suffering from some writer's block here, any help is appreciated.

Someone goes missing and all detective has is their old video diary and some records? Shady company involved? With emphasis on cyberspace?

A modest offering (pick and choose whatever you find useful):

A reclusive blogger disappears shortly after claiming to have uncovered a hidden code in The Big Sleep. A mysterious woman offers a 100 Bitcoins bounty to anyone who can recover him in one piece. Dodging SJPD investigators, hordes of comically incompetent but occasionally dangerous bounty hunting geeks, a former client holding a grudge, and a terrifying copyright infringement attorney hired by the Chandler estate from Smith, Dupont, Giovanni, Suzuki & Associates, which may or may not be a front for a murder for hire outfit, our protagonist knocks out teeth and VR sets right and left through the seedy underbelly of the capital of the Silicon Valley, and is left facing a daunting question: was Raymond Chandler human?
It's just another day on the job for _______, PI.
