Because its derailing the Justice League Dark topic, here is a board talking about the upcoming DC Animated Movie: Teen Titans Judas Contract.

. . . Yeah I was going to post a video of the trailer and a clip of the movie with a comment made by me on said clip, but then I keep on getting an error when posting said videos.

Ah well, somebody will do it for me later.

It looks like it will be pretty good.

I'm looking forward to it.

Wonder what happened to Speedy, Bumblebee and Kid Flash?

That is a good question. Perhaps we should wait and see when DC makes an animated movie out of Titans Hunt. Cause if Speedy, Kid Flash and Bumblebee are members of the previous Titan team, what's to say that Aqualad and Wondergirl were a part of the previous line up.

...I'm too used to seeing the original Teen Titans cartoon's own "Brother Blood."

I see we are using Damian Wayne though, since the Robin in this movie has a sword.

I'm so disappointed we'll never see the original project, which was an outright adaptation of the Wolfman/Perez story, down to using the same lineup (and presumably a similar artstyle as well).

It's already twice we get this story, and never following the original's pattern. Even something like Public Enemies got a faithful enough adaptation.

[up] From what I understand, their original plan was indeed to adapt George Perez's artstyle, which would have been something to see.

I think it's a mistake, actually, to do this as a movie. The audience needs to get to know Terra and learn to care about her for her actions to have any kind of impact (I didn't think they took enough time with her on The Teen Titans cartoon for it to work well, either). And oh look, another Damien movie. Damian is starting to feel like a Mary Sue to me, a character that the writers seem to like a lot more than then fans do. Or at least more than I do (which is not at all).

Pity they brought Damian back. Dying was about the only thing of value the little shit ever did.

While I can understand that, he was actually pretty good in the last movie (after Blue Beetle blasted half his face off that is).

I don't know how Damien is in the comics, but I suspect if given the right opportunity to defrost, he'd be less of a little shit.

From what I've heard, he's awful in the comics.

I remember seeing an article for this movie like 10 years ago on Wikipedia. At the time, there was so little to go on that it was an article that was listed as a candidate for deletion. Hard to believe it's actually being released finally.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

I don't mind Damian (and I think his arrogance can have some merit), but Sam Liu stated that Nightwing would have a bigger role in this. Therefore, Damian will probably be an upgraded cameo (like Spidey in the MCU's Civil War) compared to his past appearances. Plus, Damian is nowhere to be found on the official cover art. Guess who's front and center?

[up]x4 and [up]x3 Hi, comic book reader here. Damien is actually pretty likable in the comics. Granted he started out an ass at the beginning, he did eventually defrost into a likable character (especially during the run on Batman & Robin where Dick took up the mantle of Batman).

In the New 52 it pretty much continues to help developed him into a better character from his relationship with his father, to his own solo series where he became a vegan after becoming disgusted by the ideas of killing, to that Robin War crossover event that won me over to liking Damien (also Duke from the We Are Robin series, who ended up becoming Batman's partner in the current Rebirth line). Speaking of Rebirth, apparently he is now friends with Johnathan Kent (you know, the new Superboy); and apparently their developing friendship is a better take than Batman and Superman's relationship in that base breaking Zack Snyder film.

I guess it helps that the writers of the character actually grounds him by making him as vulnerable as all the other characters and don't present him as a big deal who can do anything like the animated movies. Which is ironic as at one point in the comics he gained Kryptonian powers for a while after his resurrection and he pretty much acted all giddy like a kid in the candy store upon using them.

So yeah, he's not really a hated character in the comics as he is in the movies. Though weird how you all think that he is going to be the main character even though Dick is the focus in the trailer, box art and clip which shows him leading the Titans and saving Kory.

Though the whole subplot of him becoming Nightwing is definitely going to be dropped in this movie main plot as he is already Nightwing (though it could appear in Flashback).

Well good to hear Comics Damien managed to defrost just as much.

Though compared to dying, being blasted in the face by Blue Beetle is far less harsh a lesson...and that's getting half your face burned off.

Fortunately, the kid does seem to learn.

[up][up] Possibly because Damian has gotten so much attention in the last several Batman animated films. Seems like most of 'em have been about him in some way or other since he was introduced. Some of my antipathy for him might be related to just how hard DC has pushed him.

Glad to see Dick getting the spotlight. He's been criminally underutilized in DC animation, in my opinion.

[up]Very low. They already have Damian as their current Robin, and Nightwing is pretty much taking Tim's cues of having a relatively uneasy relationship with him. Though, Young Justice Season Three may feature more Tim (and hopefully, Stephanie Brown).

Minor sidetrack, but while it's a shame that Miguel Ferrer won't return as Vandal Savage, I think his Deathstroke's vocal presence are an improvement over Son of Batman's Thomas Gibson.

Speaking of Tim, he seems like the only Robin to not make an animated movie appearance. Dick made plenty of appearances. Jason headlined Under the Hood (the second best animated Batman movie until I revised the list to include The LEGO Batman movie). Damien hogged the spotlight in many recent Batman movies. And Carrie made her second and third overall animated appearance in the adaption of The Dark Knight Returns (her fourth is on Teen Titans Go).

Other than that Robins gang and Stephanie, he is the only Robin to not be featured in any of the movies.

DCAU Tim cribbed a lot of Jason, though.

Yeah. Tim has only really been Tim in Young Justice, where he hardly had much development at all.

It's rough for the kid, and he was Robin for a long time before Damien came along.

[up] (x3)The mainline ones, yes. However, Tim (as Red Robin) is featured in the Toyetic Batman Unlimited movies (Animal Instincts and Monster Mayhem) and shorts (like this one, this one, this one, my favorite one, and this last one playing on Tim's fears) usually pairing him with Dick or Bruce.

And that Direct-to-DVD adaptation of LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes has Tim as Robin. The only odd one is JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time, since that Robin is pretty much a Composite Character of all the Robins in personality, fighting style and mental prowess. Though the YMMV page stated that most people's head canon leans towards Todd.

I guess with four male robins and two female, it's easier to just trim them down and combine elements.

Dick is obligated to appear at first, then become Nightwing, which then leaves his successor to be some kind of In Name Only Composite Character most of the time.

[up]Tim is also Robin in the Arkham video games.

Dick is already Nightwing and Jason is the Arkham Knight then he became Red Hood.

I mean, if you're talking about members of the Batfamily who have been shafted adaptations-wise, I think nobody got it worse than Cassandra Cain and Jean-Paul Valley.
