Winter 2017 Anime

So I'm finally getting around to watching Yuri on Ice. The manservice scale in this show is off the charts.

It only gets better.

Watching episode 2 of Demi-chan, is it bad that when Machi had her head coddled my first thought was "Huh, now that's a weird fetish I won't be surprised to see on the interwebs." Heck, here's probably dakimakura of her, with a separate little pillow for her head. And if that's not a thing yet, then I am a moneymaking genius.

We don't have a thread for that show yet, do we? Figured I might make one for it. Plenty of interesting topics to discuss what with the weird biology and societal responses to "disability". And cute monster girls I guess

EDIT: Okay, I am pretty impressed with the scene where Succubus-sensei overhears Takahashi discussing Machi's difficulty with using a regulation bag. Very organic way of getting her to lower her guard. Apparently it was anime-original! That's Adaptation Expansion done right.

Yeah, in general I found the anime has kicked up the original manga a notch by things like that, the latter being more gag orientated and focused on sensei more than on interactions between the girls themselves.

So episode 2 of Kobayshi's Dragon Maid and Konosuba went up.

Kobayshi really tugged at my heart with Kanna and the music. Though I'm keep thinking of Curious George when I look at the background art. Must be the faded colors or something. I just keep feeling like I seen similar art somewhere before.

Konosuba had Yunyun show up, though wasn't she in the OVA or something? Megumin once again shows why she has an entire subreddit to herself. Also, I loved Kazuma's little spiel against tsundere and other cliches found in romance. Ain't no tired bullshit happening here. He's the real harem protagonist we need AND deserve.

I don't want a harem protagonist that tries to make thirteen year old girls give him a handjob.

That OVA is non-canon, so don't expect that from Kazuma.

When did he try to do that?

OVA. He put on a cursed pendant that he thought granted wishes but actually won't come off until you grant whatever wish you were thinking of at the time yourself. He used this as an excuse to horribly degrade and assault all his female friends, basically guilt tripping them into doing mild sexual favors. At one point he's in the bath with a highly uncomfortable Megumi and I think his towel falls off or something showing his stiffy, which she doesn't want to look at, so he starts trying to make her touch it. Something interrupted before she could but it was incredibly creepy.

This is also the same OVA where she had a nice personal moment where she shows she really values his friendship, too. So much for that.

OVA is non canon, as Very Melon said.

Doesn't mean that it isn't creepy or that the studio won't make more of it.

No one has a problem with you disliking the OVA. I just wanted to make sure if you knew it wasn't a canon scene (with canon characterization). If that doesn't matter to you, fair enough.

I actually do appreciate that a little.

ACCA Episode 2: The show is still slowly going through its setup but this episode seems to introduce some plot elements with the possibility of a coup in the offing. The food focus is strange but actually quite interesting and the show still has the best opening I have seen this season

as far as I know from what little info I've gathered here and there plus whats on this very site, Megu and Kazu are basically one hair shy of an official couple post volume nine so yeah, that OVA is very out of character considering he doesn't start perving on her until she's legally an adult in their world and even then he only does it reluctantly.

Huh, the first two episodes of Granblue Fantasy the Animation have aired.

I though so too...

Apparently the first two episodes are airing this season as a 1-hour special. But it will only properly start airing next season, with the same two episodes. On that note, gonna leave it for next time.

Yep. I can see them using that time to touch up the art a bit, because while the animation is nice, there's definitely some art and sound effects issues (The party scene from ep 2 has a glaring sound effect mssing that should be there.)

is it me, or does look much of it CGI?

ACCA Episode 3: This series is probably the best show of the season that nobody here appears to be talking about. This episode begins to flesh out the plot a little with a new (and rather obvious) contender for who is setting up the coup d'état is proposed. We also get to see a bit more of the King and his supposed heir. The Food Porn is still present and a little puzzling.

Kobayashi Ep.3: This show is adorable. I loved Fafnir getting hooked on Dark Souls.

Konosuba Ep.3:I want more dungeon adventure, this was hilarious and kind of cool with all the 'Forsight" Kazuma did with planning his skills and Aqua being useful for once. Makes me wish this got an actual game, like an Etrian Odyssey type of game. Also, Mimics in this universe terrifies me. Damn thing warped space.
