Oh huh. Apparently in an earlier draft the Heptapods' gift was that each country got a different part for a faster-than-light spaceship, meaning they'd need to work together to build it.

The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."

YES YES YES! Best Picture, Director, and Screenplay noms!

And well-deserved, I'd say.

Finally got around to seeing this. I love this kind of high-concept sci-fi. We don't get it as often as we should, and it doesn't get the attention it deserves when we do.

I liked the implication, if I understood it correctly, that the heptapods open up a different compartment each time...which would make sense if they perceive ime as nonlinear. Helps them keep track of 'when' they're dealing with us.

No, he just experiences the future at the same time as the present so to him, a Jason Momoa interview is relevant because he's actually in the third sequel of Arrival.

Jason Momoa can communicate telepathically with all creatures of the sea. It's actually really smart of them to cast him for this and as Aquaman because of that.

Clearly, they edited out the part where he talked about the inevitable crossover.

So we only got Sound Editing. Granted, sound effects were a big part of the movie and they were amazing, but meh.

Shame it didn't win the best picture (okay, realistically it wasn't going to happen).

Against that competition, I'm not surprised Arrival didn't get Best Picture, but Amy Adams being snubbed for Best Actress, that hurts.

We're probably just lucky La La Land didn't sweep everything. Hollywood does love its movies about Hollywood.

Although, my god was it cathartic to watch them seem to win...and then nope, it's Moonlight!

[up][up]Well, it was a science fiction going against "proper" cinema like Moonlight and La La Land.

It doesn't help Adams is playing "The Amy Adams Character".
