"Multi-Apocalypse Crossover" {Yes, that is a placeholder title until a better name comes up} (Interest Check/Brainstorming)

Have no idea how well this will go, but I'll give it a shot.

There won't be a sign-up until a better title is made for the role play. The role play involves being split up into teams, so whoever comes up with the best name for the role play gets to be the leader of their team.

I'm looking for good ideas on how to make the role play even better to make sure that it's well-polished by the time the sign-ups begin.

I call it a "multi-apocalypse" because you can choose what doomsday scenario you want to fight in when you sign up. Not so much in the role play itself because it'll make no mention that you choose said apocalypse. The current idea for how the game starts in the first place involves a mysterious malevolent force randomly teleporting you to the doomsday scenario you've chosen.

Now for the "crossover" part. You can team up with any three characters from any franchise. For clarification, that's up to three characters per person who signs up. A full team of Pokemon can count as a single character, mainly because I find it hard to choose just one. Just make sure that when you form teams that there aren't duplicates of the same fictional character, or else it'll get confusing.

The maximum number of people per group (not counting the crossover characters) is five.

As for what your starting weapons and supplies are, it's whatever you can get your hands on at home, including making your own weapons Mac Gyver-style. So no shopping for weapons before you get teleported, there's plenty of weapons you can obtain from the doomsday scenario you've selected. A communicator will eventually be given to each of you to keep in touch with each other. That way when a particularly bad problem arises and no one's around you can signal for help and any team who isn't currently preoccupied with something can assist you if possible.

Here's a doomsday scenario I came up with: Internet Apocalypse. In this world, you have to defeat a self-proclaimed "Final Boss of the Internet" in order to stop it from escaping cyberspace and twisting the laws of physics in the real world. It's real name is Final.exe, and it's a computer virus that was created from (and is made out of) the darkest desires and secrets on the Internet. Since memes had a hand in its creation, Final.exe is immune to memetic badasses. It is very much aware that the loophole is that it isn't immune to normal badasses. It's not an assimilating virus, though it can take control of electronics in the real world as it moves closer to escaping into the real world. In contrast to the memes and dark humor that it's partially made of, Final.exe is coldly serious. As for what Final.exe actually looks like in the realm of cyberspace, I'm not actually sure what its actual appearance should be. Probably something that looks bad enough to give Freddy Krueger nightmares.

So, let me get this right, this is a self insert RP, where we get to pick three characters from various settings to help us kick the apocalypse's ass.

If that is the case I think 4 characters per player might be a bit excessive. I feel like you should probably reduce it to 1 character to go with the self insert instead of 3+selfinsert.

It's real name is Final.exe, and it's a computer virus that was created from (and is made out of) the darkest desires and secrets on the Internet.

I don't think that would be allowed on this site. tongue

[up] Thanks for the input. Reducing guest characters from 3 per person to 1. I still want to have a few Pokemon with me (i.e. Meloetta as a selector of battle music) as well as having Bowser on my team.

It's a self-insert RP for the most part, though if you personally don't think that you'd last long in an actual fight you can just have a OC of yours or some other fictional character fight in your place.

Just because Final.exe is made up of the darkest desires and secrets on the Internet doesn't mean that it actually likes some of those desires and secrets. Even the "Final Boss of the Internet" has standards! So rest assured that Final.exe won't bring up that part of the Internet simply because it doesn't like talking about it nor will it partake in something it's not proud of.

The only dark things from the Internet Final.exe uses are the deepest, darkest secrets such as classified documents and secret weapons projects (for the sake of this role-play, those documents and weapons shall be completely made up). Final.exe can even use the secrets of individuals in an attempt to blackmail them. Power-wise, Final.exe is basically Freddy Krueger as a computer virus, except that its powers can work in the real world as well. It's goal is to make everywhere it goes a nightmarish dystopia in which computer viruses are the rulers.

The only reason why Final.exe don't have the powers of a memetic badass despite containing the feats of actual memetic badasses within itself is because no one has made a website called "Final.exe Facts". If someone does indeed do just that just to mess with us, then we may be in a bit of trouble since then we'd have to try to defeat the impossible.

I would be interested but how many extra characters we get 1 or 3?

I'll start the sign-up thread once the following conditions are met:

  • The amount of people who are interested in this is at least triple the current amount
  • Either me or someone else comes up with a better name than "Multi-Apocalypse Crossover"

Anyways, I came up with another apocalypse scenario: Artifact Apocalypse.

In Artifact Apocalypse, in order to stop the end of the world you must collect ancient artifacts from all over the world. You don't know what's causing the apocalypse, but you can tell that it isn't natural. This includes traveling to mysterious places, such as Stonehenge and sunken cities. Some of these artifacts have their own guardian that we have to fight, others do not. The thing that's causing the end of the world has a massive force field around it, so you aren't even able to take a good look at it unless you neutralize the force field using the required artifacts. This apocalypse is slow, but its effects are dire enough that you have to hurry.

Sounds interesting. I'm in.

As for a name, how about Endtime Roulette? Though that would imply that the apocalypses are chosen randomly...

[up] That's a better name than the one I came up with. It'll probably be an even catchier title if we can turn it into an Alliterative Title.
