Since we seem to be in a slump that will go on a while now, I thought it might be a good time to place these character-building questions for people to answer if they're like me and want to do stuff with their character but can't:
- How old is she? (And how old is she mentally? Is she a 40-year-old in the body of a sixteen-year-old, or vice versa?)
- Did she have a happy childhood? Why/why not?
- Past/ present relationships? How did they affect her?
- What does she care about?
- What is she obsessed with?
- Biggest fear?
- What is the best thing that ever happened to her? The worst?
- Most embarrassing thing that ever happened to her?

- What is the one word you would use to define her?
I'll start us off with what I wrote down for Lucas:
- How old is he? (And how old is he mentally? Is he a 40-year-old in the body of a sixteen-year-old, or vice versa?) Lucas is nineteen years old at the current time of the plot. He tries to act older, but he’s still quite temperamental – he even got compared to an emo teen once or twice.
- Did he have a happy childhood? Why/why not? It was up and down. Despite his missing mom, his childhood was rather nice, but his bullying during his days at Lighthouse Academy took its toll. And that was before the accident at the age of fifteen that robbed him of his father and sight. Things got a bit better with the Wests, but their abandonment of him have caused a lot of damage for him.
- Past/ present relationships? How did they affect him? His mom vanished when he was a kid, his recklessness ended up with his dad’s death, and his godmother (and her almost-his-age little sister, whom he used to have a crush on) left him with just a note and some lien. Such major losses from those who he should have been able to depend on have left him hesitant about getting close to anyone again. Thank goodness his best friend Jack and girlfriend Carol are so stubborn, or he would have stayed a loner.
- What does he care about? His friends. His job as a Huntsman. Pretty much, if he has a strong connection with someone or something, either he’s going to do whatever it takes to maintain it, or it’s going to drive him nuts that he can’t.
- What is he obsessed with? Perfection. Lucas has always wanted to be the best – the best Huntsman, the best student, the best boyfriend. He feels if he can’t be the best, he doesn’t deserve what he has, which only makes him feel worse when he doesn’t meet his impossibly-high self-imposed standards. On a much less serious note, he’s got a serious sweet tooth and is fond of soft or fuzzy stuff.
- Biggest fear? Of being helpless, unable to save those close to him.
- What is the best thing that ever happened to him? The worst? The worst thing that ever happened to him was certainly the Incident with the beowulves. He’s sworn to himself he won’t fall that low ever again, but the problem is that a lot of stuff has happened that’s threatened to take that spot. As for the best… it would have to be finally making it into a Hunter Academy, after so many years. Though like with the worst spot, a lot of stuff has happened that have contended the best spot.
- Most embarrassing thing that ever happened to him? He’s not sure how it happened, but his Giant Magical Kitty plush ended up in the main lobby of Dorm White Rose, to his horror and his classmates’ amusement. Since then, Sparkolonius had been hidden well under his bed, where no one would bother to look.
- Biggest secret? The Wests, who took him in and helped him after the incident? They’re terrorists now. Tried to hurt him and his friends too, which doesn’t help matters. He’s worried someone’s going to realize he stayed with them, though, and think he’s some sort of Arcana mole.
- What is the one word you would use to define him? Stubborn. Loyal. Grumpy. Moody. It usually depends on my mood.

The Blinder
- How old is she? (And how old is she mentally? Is she a 40-year-old in the body of a sixteen-year-old, or vice versa?)
- Jack is on the younger side to nineteen. He's about as mature as that age indicates, though he does have a skill for spiritual help.
- Did she have a happy childhood? Why/why not?
- While Jack considers he had a happy friendship with his family dying being a bit of a blot, it could also be considered somewhat abusive. He's still got scars from his uncle Killian's brutal lessons, however he also has poor social skills from that.
- Past/ present relationships? How did they affect her?
- Jack's father figure is his uncle Killian, who he respects and is frankly desperate to prove himself to. Despite the fact that Killian, if anything, seems apathetic towards Jack, seeing the latter as a grown hunter who's goal is to forge his own path.
- Jack's current strongest relationship is with his captain and co-captain. He respects Remus above all else save for Ozpin and generally will follow his orders without hesitation. Lucas, on the other hand, is a bit more complicated. Jack has romantics feeling for Lucas and is often worried about the other hunter due to the stress Lucas puts himself through. That being said, he's still willing to punch them both in the face for fun. (Though this is only in fun sparring.)
- What does she care about?
- His family-White Rose. He's willing to go through hell in back to make things right for them. Even Pius. This does not extend to their own groups as he's more than willing to insult Alexia's mother to her face.
- What is she obsessed with?
- Living. Jack loves to fight, he loves to talk, he loves life and believes that he should just take what shit he has to and move on. That's how he's able to laugh off stuff like losing his arm. However, he's also fine with the idea of death provided it finds him in combat. Nor does this moving on concept appeal to things such as grudges. Jack despises Arcana and if you put him in a room with them, he'll shut out anything else in an attempt to kill them. Especially Devil.
- Biggest fear?
- Being Useless. Jack often comes down particularly hard on himself for any perceived faults in combat. Such as being unable to help out his team mates. It's been so bad that he's considered leaving his team in the past for fear of dragging them down, however that has since changed to fearing what he's done to Ieria.
- What is the best thing that ever happened to her? The worst?
- For Jack, it would be meeting up with Remus and Lucas that would become the best. The worst? Probably the fallout after the fight with the Devil.
- Most embarrassing thing that ever happened to him?
- Jack isn't self conscious enough to be embarrassed. Rather, he is ashamed of his disastrous attempt to help Ieria and in general, his behavior in the month leading up to that.
- Biggest secret?
- Jack's got a little brother. Ao, who inherited most of their faunus heritage. He doesn't actually mark this as a secret, it's just something that he's never really seen fit to talk about-he hasn't seen Ao since their parents died, so he doesn't really remember him anyways.
- What is the one word you would use to define him?
- Implacable. It takes a lot to drag Jack down, stop him from trying or anything else. He never gives up and can generally be expected to be the one escalating issues rather than bringing them down.

- Physically 17, mentally somewhere in his 30's
- Did he have a happy childhood? Why/why not?
- Somewhat. He was rather distant when he was in the orphanage, never speaking unless spoken to, but not many kids picked on him and he had a lot of time on reading. When he got adopted into the Black Talon, he found a place in life, but saw the harsh reality of said place.
- Past/Present relationships? How did they affect him?
- Grigori was mostly alone in the orphanage, but over time, he got used to it. He had to cooperate with his friends in Black Talon, but he found camaderie with them, even if some are more vicious than most. He has an on-again, off-again relationship with Olivia Oscuro, an falcon Faunus tasked with courier duty. He keeps quiet about that one, even to his "family," even if peeked at her once.
- What does he care about?
- His "family" back at Atlas, and his dormmates for who. For what, he still believes that with his talents, he can create a lot of good, to use might for right instead of might making right.
- What is he obsessed with?
- Fighting, not that he'll pick a fight with anyone, but more like he'll gladly participate in one if need be. He sees battle as an art and his spear-sniper rifle as his brush, figuratively speaking. He does know that not everyone is suited for battle and prefers a fair fight of skill and wits, rather than just bashing heads together.
- Biggest fear?
- Seeing everything he worked on being for nothing and the people he cared for die for nothing. This stems from how the orphanage was raided and how the odds are stacked against him and his friends against the White Fang.
- What is the best thing that ever happened to him? The worst?
- The best thing would be when he got admitted into Beacon. Considering the fables and stories he heard about hunters when he was little, it's like a kid going to outer space.
- The worst is either when he found out that the orphanage he went to was raided by bandits and razed by Grimm or when his mentor was lost to the Grimm. He didn't want to choose which was worse.
- Most embarrassing thing that ever happened to him?
- He was caught peeking at Olivia while she was bathing. That earned him a slap that knocked him across the room and a dressing down by his friends.
- Biggest secret?
- His ties with Black Talon. An offshoot of a well-known terrorist group spells trouble, despite their intentions, especially if some of the members are willing to resort to murder.
- What is the one word you would use to define him?
- Stoic. He's not one for freaking out or charging into battle recklessly. He keeps his emotions in check, especially in the heat of battle. That's not saying he's emotionless, he can express when he feels like he needs to.

Well, I guess I'll write something down for the air-head.
1. How old is he? (And how old is he mentally?) Falken is 17 and usually, tends to have the mindset of a teenager who wants to have fun and simply live life and being surprisingly down to earth and stable compared to others at Beacon. Which...is probably saying a fair bit.
2. Did he have a happy childhood? Why/why not? Being the second youngest child out of five, Falken's family life was...certainly an interesting...but pleasant one. Rarely staying in place for too long, the air-head wasn't given much of a chance to make friends until his teenage years, but didn't really mind. High-School was a highlight being a bully/bigoted-towards-faunus hunter, vice-captain of the soccer AND football teams and excelling at track and field. ...Just don't ask how the archery classes went.
3. Past/present relationships? How did they affect him? Being the second youngest child out of five between his triplet older sisters consisting of a Cool Big Sis, a one that's...quite temperamental and likes to drink, one that usually focused on her studies and his younger twin sister that's...much more sensible, if a little shy.
His parents were a doting mother who is quiet, patient and relatively grounded while his father flits between calm and excitable, supportive and a little silly.
4. What does he care about? That...is not an easy question to answer. Mostly because he doesn't have much aside from his friends and family which mean a lot, as does staying fit and fashion.
5. What is he obsessed with? ...He likes apples and constantly trying out new clothes, trying to make friends and hit on nearly everyone for giggles.
6. Biggest fear? Falken...is not a good swimmer. That's really the only standout considering his happy-go-lucky and confident nature. And he's slightly, okay, considerably claustrophobic.
7. What is the best thing that ever happened to him? The worst? The best thing would probably be being acknowledged as the star player on the Verdant Vanquishers and winning the yearly cup. Conversely, being barred entry from a certain contest because it would've been unfair to the other contestants.
8. Most embarrassing thing that ever happened to him? Probably his first impressions with most people at Beacon. ...And probably anything involving a lot of apple cider or wine.
9. Biggest secret? His fears Aside from that, he's pretty open if people ask him questions.
10. What is the one word you would use to define him? Cheerful. Carefree. Confident. Cocky.

It was me, Dio!
Real post once I wake up in the morning. For now, here's a Lexi study.
- How old is she? (And how old is she mentally? Is she a 40-year-old in the body of a sixteen-year-old, or vice versa?)
- Alexia is 17. Or at least 17 for a grand total of four more days. As for her mindset? In some ways she's still a little girl believing in fairy tales, really. She tries to mature herself as fast as possible though.
- Did she have a happy childhood? Why/why not?
- Alexia had a great childhood. Loving parents, good friends, literal royalty. Yeah. Still, it's made her...soft. She barely understands what people like Alfred or Lucas went through, although she is trying her best.
- Past/ present relationships? How did they affect her?
- Oh boy. We're going to be here awhile. First and foremost is her family, who she loves more than literally anything else in the world. Her mother is her hero and she strives to be as much like her as possible, even though Alexia feels that's she's too weak. Her father is her pillar, her comfort. Pa always has the answer to everything. Her sisters...well, for most of her life she didn't know she had sisters, but hey, life's funny that way. She loves Alice and Erin to bits and she knows they love her back. Alexia is particularly protective of Erin, as her sister barely got out of Luna alive. As for her friends at Beacon? Pius is her childhood friend. She feels she can just be herself with him and she trusts him completely. Also, he's one of the few people she feels comfortable teasing. She's honestly started thinking of Medus as a surrogate older brother figure, she appreciates his groundedness and admires his confidence. Ieria is...someone whose strength far surpasses her own. Lexi admits that she envies the Jade in her darkest moments, but mostly she admires her. Also, she thinks Ieria is the best, sweetest girlfriend ever and wishes she and Alfred could be like that. Hope is honestly her best friend, which is odd since they've known each other for barely five months. Still...she felt a connection there and Hope just....has something in her that Alexia immediately wants to be close to. Alfred, Alfred, Alfred. Alfred has caused more confusion and heartache than literally anyone else on this list. But also, has caused her more happiness and warmth too. She loves him, she's sure. His wry smile, his cynical joking, his fierce personality. Honestly, she doesn't know when it started, but she's head over heels for him.Glen is a bit of a sore spot. He almost killed Erin the first time they met, but she can't deny that he is quite troubled himself. She's forgiven him, but it's mostly just awkward nowadays.
- What does she care about?
- Short answer? Everyone in the kingdom. Her friends, her family, her duty. She will literally work herself to death as long as everyone stays safe and happy.
- What is she obsessed with?
- Her duty is everything. She needs to be the best she can be. The best Huntress, the best Princess, the best Person. To be anything else is to fail everyone, and she refuses to let anyone down. On a lighter note: Art. She fangirls.
- Biggest fear?
- Failure. If she can't do her duty, then what good is she for? She'd be useless, she'd be a disgrace to her family, she'd be letting the people down...
- The best thing that's ever happened to her is Beacon, no question. She's met amazing people here. The worst? Haha, coming soon. But as of now? Umbra 13. Erin almost dting is a close second.
- Most embarrassing thing that ever happened to her?
- The Domlexia incident. She doesn't want to talk about it.
- Aside from the "turns into a horny dominatrix when drunk" thing? She had a crush on Pius and thought Lucas was attractive though she was never interested in him as a potential boyfriend. (Troubled, blackhaired guys. Lexi has a type!)
- What is the one word you would use to define her?
- Idealist. Sums up everything about her.

Hi, here's a thing I did about Yun.
How old is he? (And how old is he mentally? Is he a 40-year-old in the body of a sixteen-year-old, or vice versa?):
Yun is around 18 years old, but is mentally in his twenties, being one of the more stable residents of White Rose.
Did he have a happy childhood? Why/why not?
Not really. When he was six, Yun watched his parents- along with most of his village- get slaughtered by a horde of Grimm. He was raised by his grandfather after the massacre, and forced to grow up quickly, working part-time jobs after school hours to support himself and his grandfather.
Past/ present relationships? How did they affect him?
As his parents died when he was young, Yun's strongest bond is with his grandfather, Magnus Summers. Being a retired hunter, Magnus helped Yun cope with the loss of his family, as well as trained him to become a hunter himself.
In Beacon, Yun either considers his classmates as friends, or respects them as fellow Hunters in training. He values his team, does his best to be a good leader for them, and hopes to spend more time with them outside of missions.
There there's his girlfriend, Hope Remington. Yun loves her and couldn't care less about the fact that she's wheelchair-bound. She's now one of the most important figures in his life and just being with her makes him feel happy.
One more relationship of note would be Beth, who he holds immense gratitude for building his prosthetic eye.
What does he care about?
Growing up with only one blood relative left alive and few opportunities to befriend children his age, Yun deeply cares about his family, girlfriend and everyone in White Rose.
What is he obsessed with?
The well-being of his friends and loved one; Coffee (he loves the stuff); Literature.
Biggest fear?
Watching as the people he cares about die around him, and being unable to do a thing about it.
What is the best thing that ever happened to him? The worst?
Best thing that happened to him was his girlfriend. Worst thing was losing his eye.
Most embarrassing thing that ever happened to him?
The time he got drunk and ended up in a menage-a-trois with Sophie and Hope, with the time Alice called him a "vagina-loving maniac" being a close second.
Biggest secret?
Loves the Ninjas of Love book series.
What is the one word you would use to define him?
Either Stable (considering his past, it's a wonder that he doesn't have mental issues) or Caring (even Umbra 13 and everything after that did little to diminish this).

1)How old is she? (And how old is she mentally? Is she a 40-year-old in the body of a sixteen-year-old, or vice versa?) 17. I'd say her physical and mental age are about the same.
2)Did she have a happy childhood? Why/why not? No. She was a target of constant bullying and harassment and ended up with what appeared to be a permanent injury. When she got some reprieve by learning from Mr. Hood, that too ended in tragedy.
3)Past/ present relationships? How did they affect her? Her relationship with her parents is positive but marked with a general passivity and cluelessness that left her victim to bullying. Mr. Hood was the first person to help her in a way that would help her deal with her problems and he would often act kind and supportive without ever talking to her about his problems. She realized too late that that wasn't good for him in the long run.
4)What does she care about? She wants to fit in and blend in life, as she believes sticking out leads to negative attention and suffering. However she does see the education of the younger generation as a vital part of life and wants to be a teacher some day.
5)What is she obsessed with? She's a big tabletop gamer nerd at hard and has a binder full of drawings of characters from Grimm and Gauntlet campaigns across the years.
6)Biggest fear? She's terrified of horses. They were responsible for her injury and she'll be on edge if she's so much near a stable.
7)What is the best thing that ever happened to her? The worst? She was elated when Imuka decided to fix her wing as she believed she might finally be able to fly again. Mr. Hood's death by contrast left her in a six month state of depression which she only exited upon arriving at Beacon.
8)Most embarrassing thing that ever happened to her? She once had to bring cutlery for a class picnic in her ordinary school. She ended up bringing her arrows. If that wasn't enough she tried to convince the class that they were just fancy chopsticks.
9)Biggest secret? She kind of has a crush on Imuka.
10) What is the one word you would use to define her? Anxious.

Quick warning for anyone not able to access the Skype chat: I messed up big-time, resulting in my phone and laptop being confiscated for the time being. I'll try and squeeze in some time on the main computer under the guise of "story writing" to make some posts in places if necessary, but for the most part don't expect a lot of activity from me until next week (Christmas Day for those in the states, and probably early Boxing Day for Grim and KR assuming my time zone calculations are correct).

I've been trying to make and send you a present, but I've been dragged from film to film today (and probably will continue to be dragged into film-watching, considering we haven't finished the Two Towers film yet), with little time to get on my computer and and get it done.
