Heyo, nice to find someone like me here!
"YOU SHALL FEEL THE FLOWER'S WRATH"thanks
MIAI've written Cyberchase fanfiction if that counts.
I we talking about tropers who write the tropes on this site or tropers who actually write novels, short stories and other things?
Former creepypasta author here, as a matter of fact.
Currently writing an entire novel on Wattpad.
Hello, BrightLight here.
Currently working on two Avatar: The Last Airbender alternate universe fanfics.
As well as a manuscript that could potentially be published as a children's picture book.
Ahoy! Currently writing something for NaNoWriMo YWP!
artsy geek | any pronouns | "well, if you're hearing this, then chances are you've made a very poor career choice."Really need to update my real-time Nuzlocke fanfic if I wanna keep the illusion up. But eh, what can you do?
Hey guys.
Aspiring writer, never gotten published, not even on a fanfic site (I'd like to start there, begin small, y'know?). I'm extremely nervous about it. Any tips?
Forum signature.I wanted to make a post here after I got my first fanfic posted, which was meant to happen last weekend but due to procrastination and now lockdown* , I won't be able to for a while.
On the bright side, the first chapter can go through a bit of extra processing, because I'm now accepting of the idea of doing more than one written draft for an excerpt, and my initial idea for a certain core aspect of it has changed thanks to a what-if question that made things seem to make more sense when I answered it differently.
Not working on it as much at the moment cuz homework's piling up but I have good hope in this one. Although it's merely a retelling of events in or behind the scenes from a certain character's perspective. That still makes it a fanfic right? Ah whatever, who cares, I still like the premise I'm going for.
Might eventually post it here if that's alright. That would make it my first ever uploaded piece of fan-writing too so I'm technically a beginner as well. My advice is just always find ways to improve and have fun.
Looking to become a writer!
I love writing. Like a lot. Songs, stories, anything, really. I currently have a story going that Im hoping to get published, although I havent edited it in some time (just had other stuff going on, such as Kingdom Hearts and Splatoon). So hope Im welcome here!
Got two books published now and almost done with the third. Three more planned to complete the current series! All I have to say to aspiring writers is this:
- There is an audience out there for everything. Just write. They'll come to you.
- Don't be afraid to write your first draft. It's better to write it badly and then later have to go back to edit it, then to have it forgotten and disappear forever because you 'saved' the idea for later.
- Even if you only can write 500-1000 words a night or every other night - set a schedule and stick to it. Over the course of a year, you will have written a book. One you can edit to perfection before publishing! :)
- Publishing isn't as scary as it sounds, but there are pros and cons between self-publishing vs. major house publishing. I chose self because of several factors: new author, niche fandom/fan base, unknown or not established IP, full freedom over how I want to build my series to include cover art/formatting/distribution/more.

If you're not careful, the media will have you hating the oppressed and loving the oppressors
