I think current is fine (the stats screen is kind of necessary imo because of the "Slots available" part and it makes the image look complete, and there's aspects like the "Grab Panel" icon, weirdly shaped stuff like the Backpack slot, and tabs that get across the fact it's a grid inventory), but I'm biased because the source is one of my favorite games.
