So glad to see dynamic weather returning in Zelda! Hopefully that storm was so short for demo purposes, and will be longer in the game.
That lightning bolt outright shocked me when it fell so close! If a video did that I hope the effect is even more pronounced while actually playing it.
...Godammit, that was a pun. I'm so sorry.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."I hope we can get struck by lightning.
i. hear. a. sound.Considering how much work was put into the fire physics engine, I fully expect they did a lightning physics engine as well.
Like you are holding a metal weapon and metal armor, you have a higher chance of getting struck by lightning.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Didn't they basically say during the Treehouse Live Event at E3 when they encountered weather that they chose to use wooden weapons so they wouldn't get struck by lightning?
They also said sometimes the enemies could be struck by lightning if they use metal weapons.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventurei want to use Link as a lightning rod to kill the magitech enemies
i. hear. a. sound.Did anyone notice how the grass caught fire from the lightning strike? Or how the wind slowly died down after the storm ended? How about the little bit of rain while the sun was still shining? Some nice little touches there. Nintendo's always been good with that kind of attention to detail.
Game Center CX (or DX for some reason) plays Zelda.

So pretty...
"YOU SHALL FEEL THE FLOWER'S WRATH"further confirmation that breath of the wild is a zelda I remake
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-Maeprobably a direct homage if anything
New theme music also a boxWill this mountain be 2spooky4you?
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.I wonder why they're so insistent on not showing anything beyond the plateau?
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonBecause they want to save it as a surprise for the players.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I'd love it if they only stuck to the plateau for most of their marketing, just teasing screens or seconds of other places to make us go "holy crap what is that!" and there isn't much to see in them except, like, different plants and a couple broken rocks so we'll still be totally surprised about where we end up.
i. hear. a. sound.I want to at least see a town of some sort. To make sure it's really in and and that the world feels lived-in. Especially with these sorts of games, if they're not willing to show a feature it's probably not worth getting hyped up about.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. They said that the reasons towns aren't being shown is so that there aren't any spoilers for the game. I don't get why that means that towns are unimportant.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeI got the impression the world was supposed to be kind of post-apocalyptic so I wasn't expecting the towns in it, if there are any, to be super big or impressive, mostly just some small settlements and a lot of ruins.
I am sort of getting sick of seeing the plateau. On the whole, it's just rather boring and I'd like to see more environments.
This song needs more love. Some people like there to be life and civilization in their open world games. You know, to break up the monotony of exploring dungeons and killing monsters. Plus towns are good places for storage/side quests/plot/etc. They can say a feature (towns) is in, but not showing anything off paints a pessimistic picture. Because if they were good they would be very nice to see in the marketing. So if they're not willing to show towns but claim they're just hiding them for spoilers, I'm going to assume they're going to be small and pathetic until I have a reason to think otherwise.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.
That's a rather cynical way to look at it.
Have the towns in Zelda ever been small and pathetic? I'm just gonna wait and see on the matter myself.
I mean, there's no proof you're wrong, but assuming the worst just because they haven't shown anything doesn't seem like the best way to do things either. Considering how tightly they held on to info on the Switch, it may just be that they are being unnecessarily tight lipped as a general policy.
One Strip! One Strip! It mostly depends on what facilities are available in towns versus out in the field at large, this time around.
Given that discovery seems to be a keyword in this game's development, I suspect we've not seen much beyond the plateau to keep things secret- Indeed, it wouldn't surprise me if the plateau was specifically designed to only give the tiniest glimpse of anything outside of it.
I sure said that!
Nintendo Japan updated their Zelda page, and here's a little gem of a video to go with it.
