Hey, I'm new to the Exalted universe, so I may have to do a lot of talking with the GM. Just a warning ;)
Also, considering my constant Eldritch Horror boner, I have a feeling I will enjoy this :D
I'm thinking of being a Defiler Infernal.
I'm also interested, but I know...just about nothing as well. I know the different types of Exalted, a few Charms, and that's it.
I'll help out with any question you guys may have!
Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?Hm. Here's one.
I'm planning on making my Infernal be derived from a Solar, as with most, and, are there entire noble families of Exalted, or is it just for individuals?
Exalted, generally, are Individuals. They can COME from noble families, but the family themselves likely won't be Exalted. The only type to have entire families of Exalted are the Terrestrial/Dragon Blooded, because instead of having a shard be bestowed upon them for their worthiness, they have it passed in their genes.
Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?I'll dig out my Exalted book and finish this after finals are done, but I shall submit a WIP of my user of Solar Hero Style. Also, if I may make a request? I totally understand if it doesn't work with any plans you have, but I think it would be rad if we fought an antagonist who uses the Infernal Monster Style. It's more or less an evil version of Solar Hero Style, so a fight between users of the two styles would be pretty rad!
- Name: Solar Hero Ryo
- Age: 22
- Personality: Like most Exalted, Ryo is exceptionally strong willed, and spends most of his time training. For him, training includes lifting boulders the size of elephants, challenging wild animals to fist-fights, and getting into brawls. He really, really likes fighting. He won't go around beating up random people, and he will almost never hurt someone unprovoked, and he dislikes killing people. But if someone challenges him to a fight, he'll have a hard time backing down unless it's obvious his prospective opponent would kill him. Even then, he might press his luck under the right circumstances. He absolutely hates when the powerful use force to oppress the weak. In case it wasn't obvious from his name, Ryo is a practitioner of the Solar Hero Style.
- Appearance: checkit◊
- History: (Very bare bones ATM will flesh out later) Lived in a southern village. Town was attacked by Fey trying to get some kind of artifact and just when it seemed they would they were stopped by a mysterious man. The dude beat up all the Fey with his bare hands. Ryo's parents were dead so the martial artist adopted him. He was actually a Solar or maybe Terrestrial named Jackie. Ryo trained under him, and eventually became a Solar. Then Jackie disappeared, and now Ryo searches for him.
- Exaltation: Solar
- Caste: Dawn
- Motivation: To become the strongest warrior, so that he might protect the weak from those who abuse their power.
- Other: Statted his virtues today. For now, they are:
- Valour: 5
- Conviction: 3
- Compassion: 2
- Temperance: 0

Exactly how close are we sticking to the rules, and, if we're following them closely, what edition are we using?
Fairly close. Charms, essence, willpower, limit, etc. Etc. And as for how thats done, 2.5 errata.
accepted thus far.

Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?I know that it's not a Martial Arts style in the books, but is Wind-Cutting Blade Style acceptable for use? Otherwise, I'll go with the other idea I had.

Sure, i don't see why not!
Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?Cool! I was inspired by 3e's Single Point Shining into the Void Style, but since we're using 2.5, Wind Cutting Blade will have to do. Sorry if the history is a bit bare, since I don't know much about the lore.
Name: Wind Cutter Snipe (Snipe for short amongst his friends)
Age: 31
Personality: Snipe is an honorable, if cold man. Patient, dedicated, disciplined...stubborn, cocky and distant. He's not one much for words, being a warrior for nearly as long as he can remember, and values expression through action highly. His cocky exterior, however, hides the fact that he's not very confident in himself, and when pushed hard enough by his skill being called into question, he collapses into intense self doubt. He has compassion for the common folk, as well as soldiers, having been both at one time before his Exaltation. However, he holds no ill-will towards the nobles and dynasts, not even the Terrestrial Exalted, despite his status as a Solar Exalted.
Appearance:Sans the spear.◊
History: Wind Cutter Snipe was a commoner, growing up in the slums, though he got along in life well enough. Shortly after he left home to join the military, his parents fell to the plague, leaving him with no family to speak of. He spent the majority of his 20's as a soldier of some reknown, fighting in few small battles all over. It was at one of these battles that he was assumed to have fallen, and left for dead. Realizing that his companions had left him for dead in a rout, he limped back to civilization, bleeding from his wounds, only to fall short at the doorstep of a house in the wilderness. However, it was at this moment that he Exalted, bathed in the light of the Unconquered Sun, and became a Dawn Caste Solar Exalted, as befitting a warrior such as he.
- Said house belonged to a hermit Sifu, who took the newly Exalted Solar in and tended to his wounds. When Snipe came to, one of the first things he did was profusely thank his saviour, pledging his loyalty to the man who had saved his life. Said Sifu was a teacher of the Celestial First Age Martial Art, Wind-Cutting Blade Style. It was after observing Sifu's kata one day that Snipe became enamored by the discipline, the strict patient movement using the slashing sword and sheath. Spurred on by the desire to become as great as he was before, Snipe begged for Sifu to teach him.
- Now 31, 5 years after he was presumed dead, Snipe sets out to become a legendary swordsman, though knowing full well that he has much still to learn.
Exaltion: Solar
Caste: Dawn
Motivation: To become the greatest swordsman in all Creation and be recorded as such in the annals of Creation's history.
Any additional information:
- Obviously, he's skilled in the use of Wind-Cutting Blade Style, and hence the use of slashing swords and reaper daiklaves in Melee.
- He holds a grudge against the soldiers of his former unit for leaving him on the battlefield.
- He is a firm teetotaler, as, to quote "Drunkenness and sloppiness are brothers".

Accepted!
Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun? Also, if anyone has any questions about the setting, characters, anything like that, PM me and I'll answer it with the utmost accuracy!
Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?Where will the RP start?
Mmmmm...one more person. People can join afterwards of course, but one more and we'll start.
Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?- Name: Alder Crake
- Age: 30
- Personality: Alder's a very deliberate guy. He knows he has clout, and given the right situation he could certainly get what he wanted most of the time, but he also viciously detests any sort of rashness. He also wants to prove himself independent of his overseers in any way that he can, and relying on them to get things done would be disgraceful. He keeps a very close eye on his appearance and puts great effort towards affecting a look of a slick traveler, bordering on a Ninja. He worries more than anything that the Armor of Fate will get misused by the crumbling celestial bureaucracy, and more importantly fears his own diminishing faith in the capital of the gods; he feels that it is improper to not have absolute confidence in his mission.
- Appearance: Alder is about 5 feet tall even.
- History: Alder's stayed pretty close to the Sidereal way for awhile now. As a child he got into all sorts of advanced History programs and all about the bureaucracies and political struggles of the world, the hidden stories behind the scenes. He was guided further when he picked up a job as a clerk, and paid his way into an enclave of historians through the money he gained in this job. He gained his final Exaltation after an all-nighter of work organizing and interpreting papers, only to realize that someone had been copying his work. He went after the spy, tackled them, and found out a rival academic was trying to steal credit for his work! For showing such vigilance and fastidiousness in maintaining records, and for his dedication to maintaining history and records of the world, he was Exalted into a Sidereal. Alder's career as a Sidereal settled into keeping records—not literally updating them, but ensuring that important information was kept safe and secret. This meant that his tasks ranged from sentry duty to assassinating people who actually got through, and when the Sidereal bureaucracy caught wind of The Armor of Fate, Alder was chosen to go get it and keep it out of the hands of any dumbshits who'd actually think to use it.
- Exaltion: Sidereal
- Caste: Chosen of Secrets
- Motivation: Alden wants to make sure that nobody else gets the Armor. Optimal outcome is to put the Armor on a rack in a Sidereal office building, but destroying it would be just as fine.

Fantastic! Accepted. I'll write the discussion and opening post tonight!
Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?Naw, I meant where in Creation will we start? And I won't really be able to post till Monday.
Probably in the South, either between Gem or Nexus.
Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?Not to put too fine a point on it, but are you sure it's a good idea to start it already? We only have three people, counting me. And I won't be able to post until Monday. I understand if you don't want to wait, and it's of course your decision. I'm pretty biased cause my sheet ain't done.
You don't have any Lunars. Are you familiar with TAW Lunars?
tldr: refined Lunar caste rework.
Vaguely, but i do remember they seem fun. If you wanna make one, go for it!
Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?
In the land of Creation, there are few legends that prove to be untrue. If a tale has spread of a great man, singlehandedly defeating an immense beast the size of a small island in the great ocean to the west, there is a good chance that this was indeed true.
In Creation, there are seldom legends, only truths.
But do not trick yourselves into thinking this is a good thing, dear readers. Sometimes, you'll wish the things you did hear about were nothing more but tales and legends.
The Armor of Fate, three suits of armor, each one holding immense power in such a small containment. Three suits of armor, capable of bringing great blessing, or great destruction, or even worse, both. The armor, long since lost to the sands of time, has not been seen since the downfall of the Primordial's, lost with the knowledge once the Sidereals broke the mask and took their existence and knowledge, with them.
But word spreads, dear readers. It spreads faster than the most roaring fire, and farther than the most deadly virus.
Warlords discuss in whispers how the armor could bring about the end of neighboring countries. Rebellions mumble of how the people can rise up against the Dynasty. Dynasts laugh at the idea of using the armor to take the Scarlet Throne by force...
And the Deathlords muse with the idea of using them to raze creation to the ground...once and for all.
So begins a tale, a race, to find the armor before they can fall into the wrong hands. Will you gather the strength you need to find them, and the worthiness to wield it? Or will you single handedly allow Creation to be destroyed by your incompetence?
But beware, reader...there is an old saying...
Power corrupts...but absolute power corrupts...absolutely.
...
Armor of Fate is a roleplay set in the Exalted Universe, which will involve an awful lot of World traveling. I did mention there was only three suits of armor, but there can be more than enough players. After all, who said the armor could only be used by one person?
The sign up sheet will look like this:
Let's have some fun folks, and let's save Creation.
