I'd watch it.
Poking at Google map, Vietnam looks to be a good bit farther west than I thought it was, relative to Japan. I could see two or three hours' time difference, which is pretty big if Makoto goes to bed soon after sunset.
Chinatsu's cute, but not everyone likes having strange kids poking at them in a restaurant/cafe.
Right? Poor fox.
Give the God Eater game thread some love!New episode:
So Kei's mother writes picture books. Pretty nice ones too.
Inukami's back, this time in white, and she does some proper fortune telling, even if the interpretation leaves a lot to be desired.
This show spends almost as much time on farming as it does on magic.
Nao first impression of Akane was... interesting.
Do you get a jet lag if you just teleport around?
If you spend a few days overseas so your body clock adapts to that timezone then you might?
Give the God Eater game thread some love!
I think it was done more for Rule of Funny than actual geographical accuracy (the difference in timezones between Vietnam and Japan is very minimal), as the author needed Makoto already asleep for the joke to work.
In reality unless Akane left Japan in the late afternoon, it would be at best early evening when she popped back to Japan, unless Makoto was the type of teen to sleep early.
She was jetlagged because of her trip to Burkina Faso, which is in Africa. ._.
Give the God Eater game thread some love!
Makoto? You might talking about another episode, because Makoto spent last week's episode (the one where Akane teleported to Vietnam) at the cafe. That's the one with the weird cut, where Akane leaves Vietnam (which was still daytime) and yet SOMEHOW arrives in Japan in the evening (where Makoto was asleep).
I was talking about this week's episode. Akane mentioned being unable to sleep at the end since she's been napping all day due to jetlag. She was in Burkina Faso for the first half of the episode.
Give the God Eater game thread some love!Yay, Inukai revisited! And she properly shows off her craft.
Chito traumatized Al real good.
Farming is just as magical as magic itself. Oh, and Nao will never accept mandrakes.
Akane's disappointed face was very amusing.
When part of the fortune includes travel and gift, you can easily spot a certain someone doing these things. Inukai's fortune-telling is quite on point.
Episode:
Nao is bad at cooking. Or so she thinks, but she never tried since childhood. With proper instructions and bit of encouraging, she does pretty well.
Makoto makes some creepy cookies.
Kei is such a girl.
Also, bees, ninja witches and apple trees.
Does anyone knows why there wasn't an episode last week?
Ran a search, and all I got was that there was a rugby match between Japan and Scotland on the 18th. I'm not quite sure rugby is big enough there to warrant interrupting regular broadcasting, so it's probably something else.
Give the God Eater game thread some love!It may be a silly theory I have, but sometimes close to the point where seasons change for broadcasting a few shows have weeks skipped to that they end a bit into the new season, for no apparent reason.
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareSo, episode 11 is out:
A witch newspaper with news from the other world. How exciting.
Flying whale is awesome. It looks so cool! And it has ancient ruins on it's back! I could leave on a back of a flying whale.
Anzu-chan is back. And she sure knows her history.
Time for some hotcakes. From a hotcake robot.
Kenny-sensei. The cat who studies anthropology.
Anzu even knows the history of hotcakes.
Message delivered by owl, British style.
Well, someone racked up quite a tab.
What a great episode, it was well worth the wait.
So is episode 12. Looks like the last two episodes aired back-to-back.
Give the God Eater game thread some love! And in the last episode I finally noticed that Akane's hair and her aunt's hair have exactly the same sticky out bits on the sides. The cast feels far more like a proper family with details like this, than your average anime family does.
Nice bittersweet ending, not doing anything special, just the same slice of life fantastic that the rest of the series was. Here's hoping for an OVA or a second series.
Oh, episode 12 is out too. It's just like this show to not do anything big for the finale and instead just have another pleasant relaxing episode, with some nods to things that happened.
So witches do wear proper robes, though probably only on formal occasions.
I like the way the brooms fly, it's so smooth.
Leave it to Akane to drink whole day. And get the robe from Internet. What a modern witch.
Nao is such a good girl.
No Chito, you can't get a robe with cat faces on it. You'll look like a total douche.
Makoto tries to keep the robe a suprise. It dosen't quite work out.
I like the casual way this series is about supernatural stuff. A ground fishes that love festivals? That's neat.
Makoto will sure have a lot to write about in her report.
Such an relaxing, pleasant series. I don't think I ever watched something quite like this. The best way to describe it would probably be mellow. I hope this gets a second season sometime in the future.
More like a lazy witch. ._.
Give the God Eater game thread some love!Maybe she's just no good at sewing? But yeah, she's pretty lazy.
I also like how there's apparently an online shop catering to witches.
Well, if there's a newspaper...
Give the God Eater game thread some love!I kinda want to write a Flying Witch/Harry Potter crossover where Akane is pursued by a horde of Howlers sent by angry cafe/bar owners.
11:
Anzu's love for history is incredible. And having a cat as a history tutor is the coolest. My respects, Historian Kenny.
Ah, so that's the difference between hotcakes and pancakes.
Should've known Akane was the type to skip paying bills.
12:
Witches are not so fussy when it comes to the colour of their robes, it seems.
Makoto tries to surprise Chinatsu. Chinatsu out-surprises her instead.
Ground fish that are more active in a festive atmosphere, huh?
A light show only for Makoto, if only because Chinatsu was tired and Akane was dead drunk().
Overall thought of the show: Cooooozzzzzyyyyy.
You could make an entire spinoff out of Cafe Curioso, honestly.
