I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this point. We're obviously not changing each other's minds.
The new Voltron looks good either way.
Fair enough.
Now the question of the music. I'm curious if they use the old theme or go in a different direction.

Oh, they'd better. They can update it if they want, but it's just not Voltron without that motif.
Agreed.
They can have a bunch of new tunes as long as they are good, but you need that theme.
Can't connect those Dynotherms without it. And how would the Megathrusters go either?
You need the old school theme! My Nostalgia demands it.
One Strip! One Strip! The show will also be getting a comic book mini-series.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).They aren't skimping on the tie-ins. But where are the toys? Can we get a Chogokin model of Voltron?
The show isn't airing on Cartoon Network.
I dunno how much Netflix cares about toys and such, because otherwise we'd start seeing Orange Is the New Black action figures.
"That's a to-go order. See! It's already gone!!"Yeah but this is a show bout giant robots. It be weird not to have a single toy.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Oh you're right, there will be toys. But it certainly won't be a factor in how long the show sticks around I don't think.
"That's a to-go order. See! It's already gone!!"The toyline will be handled by Playmates.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).OK, so they're one step ahead of Korra already.
Spring 2017?!
Yikes, it's already looking like a long wait...
Out of curiosity, how long did any of the Transformers shows have to wait until their toylines came up in stores?
I believe they had the toys in the stores slightly before the show premiered in September 1984. Hasbro was utilizing already existing toy designs, from a Japanese toyline called Diaclone, and hired Jim Shooter and Dennis O'Neill to come up with a unifying backstory (O'Neill named Optimus Prime, for instance). In the case of the Transformers, the concept was created to fit the toys. Voltron is the opposite, a concept that began as a tv show (albeit a highly toyetic one) for which they later created toys.

Here's some new pictures of the main characters. Though be careful with the character descriptions, as some of them are rather spoilerish.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022)....
You weren't kidding about spoilers.
Did that say what I think it said about Pidge?
For the love of god, if the rest of your don't want spoilers, don't look at the spoiler space.
On a different note, I like the designs for their suits. very nice.
One Strip! One Strip!I read 'em, because you told me not to I couldn't resist. And wow. The Pidge thing is a huge fricking spoiler, although that makes me even more interested in the show now.
Yeah if you don't want spoilers, don't don't read the profiles in the link.
"That's a to-go order. See! It's already gone!!"
Sorry. Should have known it'd be Schmuck Bait.
If it's true, it's really not something that should be in a profile like that.
Are we sure this thing is on the level. Admittedly, the other profiles seem like how modern versions of the other four pilots would act, but still.
One Strip! One Strip! This ah seems way to fucking big to be a lie, just saying or maybe its so big it is a fucking lie, who knows.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Something seems off about that website. The Voltron design is the classic one. And there seems to be a bit of direct machine transfer in the grammar.
Also Hunk is totally Bolin and Lance is totally Sokka.
As for the weapons, I could easily see Voltron itself using bigger versions of the human weapons. Which would mean in Shiro's case Shining Finger!

Hmm...that's different. It works just fine, but...seems a little anachronistic. It would've fit right in to an anime/ anime import from the 80's, but now...it seems a little old fashioned.

don't see why Pidge had to disguise herself. the previous iterations of the Voltron team didn't have too much of a problem with Princess Allura as the Blue Lion Pilot.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.x8 The link you provided does not work for me.
"You can run, but you can't hide from the Buzzinator!"
. That only happened in the last few episodes, contrasted with Daniel being such a colossal screw up that he had to be demoted mid battle. And it's not like they weren't beaten into our heads before, like the three minutes in one episode where the team literally stops what they're doing to gush about how they wish the cadets were there.
And again, if the setting would be so foreign to new viewers, why even make it a sequel? Luckily Legendary Defender seems to have learned from that.
Voltron Force wasn't completely irredeemable, because I get what they wanted to do at least as far as the military elements, and that Maahox was actually kind of fun as a sarcastic lampshade to Lotor's one dimensional character and Wade's complete stupidity. (Basically the scientific equivalent of Haggar but a complete Deadpan Snarker). But the execution, the whole does not add up, hence my desire to see the whole thing scrapped.
