Can you link the page?
Is it exactly like it appears on all other pages with working folders?
Is it very large? Folders break when they're too large.
Check out my fanfiction! There is no folder code on that page. The [AC:] markup does not create folders; it creates asscaps section headers.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Check out Text-Formatting Rules. Folders are at the first item discussed.
Check out my fanfiction!Having a similar problem here; https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/LittleShopOfHorrors

Those last two had / after “folder” In the code instead of a colon.
I'm having my own problems with folders. Case and point: Look for yourself
I don't see any problems, except that the article is a stub and will be cut without trope examples.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"i coded [[Folder:Hosts]] but it stays as the text i typed
It has to say [[folder:Hosts]]; the capitalization affects the code.
Edit: also, the page is full of Zero-Context Examples. That needs fixing.
