So I'm reading the policy, so as long as the work is not child pornography or any semblance of it, and as long as the trope list doesn't describe it lewdly (i.e. not getting off), it's fine to put it in the works list, right?

But what about unpublished works, are they covered by that, or is it still strictly no?

I think the same policy is applied to Unpublished Works.

(As nitpick, "child pornography" is generally a much narrower thing than the stuff the Content Policy covers)

So, say, it's a comic series or a doujin work, as long as I don't go unpleasant, it's fine right? Since Excuse Plot can be a bit tricky there.

Unpublished works should meet the same standards as any other work in terms of their inclusion under the content policy. The difference, of course, is that nobody but their author typically has the ability to review the work to see if it complies.

The situation hasn't come up directly yet, but if we were to determine that someone is writing a work that they know violates the policy and writes a Darth Wiki article for it anyway, we would deal with them pretty harshly.

The policy itself I'm a bit confused. I know aspects like no child porn or pedophilia period, and that describing its tropes should be stated without obvious "embellishments", but it's the Excuse Plot that makes it a bit hard to gauge.

Like say, I've read this Star Fox doujin, and despite the explicit porn, it had a really well thought-out emotional aspect on the characters. So would it still be allowed?

Ambiguous cases are why we have the P5 review board. If the work is viewable by other people than its author, then it could be submitted to that board.

So I guess it's a matter of submitting a link to the doujin to the board and asking if it's all right to add then?

Same with say, works published only through online galleries and stuff?
