Chapter 0

The gentle world keeps turning.

There, there lies a landscape of endless ruin. Buildings toppled, an endless fire raging across the concrete jungle. A hard rain to show only lament. Many people lie upon the blacktop, yet the world keeps turning. Some have the comfort of darkness. Others have the horror of the light. Their bodies change, they cry, wishing for a release from the anguish. Others confront this darkness, others suffer, yet the gentle world keeps turning.

The sky above flashes with red and blue. Unnatural energies swarming, fighting a war that no one understands on a day no one wishes to remember. Swords rain down. The sky splits open. The prismatic colors of the Other seep into the sky. Into the ground. Into people like a vile smog. The victims of this miasma pleaded for mercy. They found none.

The gentle world keeps turning.

Many looked on. Many prayed to God, to a Goddess, to the World that a hero would come. A hero would appear. Their Savior had come, but he failed - struck down by the very evil that brought them ruin. He joined them on the ground. Pitiable. Lamenting. However, unlike the others that were given the embrace of death, he was given an entrenched memory.

Why?

He looked to the sky, body bleeding, soul scarred. There was no answer. The rain continued to fall. The flames roared. It was the same as it had always been. The World’s response to even the greatest calamity.

It was all the same.

The gentle world just kept on turning.

6 Months Later — Muyomi City Police Station

The ceiling fan whirred above. It was loud, causing an irritating echo in the room. Below the chattering fan were men garbed in white uniforms. They seemed to be part of the local police department. One in particular had a worried expression and a sweating brow. He looked up from a pair of tightly clenched papers in hand, “Are you sure about this?”

“Yes sir.”

“...” he shook his head. “Another one. Do we know anything?”

“No sir,” it seemed any lack of information caused the man’s anxiety to turn to frustration. He continued asking questions about any possible leads. When finished, he let out a heavy sigh.

“Dismissed,” Aziz shook his head while looking down to the floor. The crumpled papers hit the desk with a slap. “Nothing. Nothing. All nothing!” he yelled out while throwing himself back in his chair. He had dismissed the rest of the officers earlier, since he wasn’t one to let anyone have his own case of brutal self-loathing. Screaming was the only thing that did it for him anymore. Between the stress of handling his own children, the murders, and the Sangue Benedetto filtering into Muyomi - his life was just going downhill fast. He reached for a closed box on the end of his desk.

There were two things that calmed the man down. Well, three, actually.

His wife’s smile. Screaming at nothing/and or his kids. And a cigar.

He flicked his hand, causing a bright flame to spark at the end of his finger. “Huff,” he exhaled a nice plume of smoke into the air. He kicked himself around on the wheeling chair, throwing a hand out to open the closed curtains.

His office was on the second floor. He didn’t want it that way, but there was never really any choice given the hasty arrangement of his new ‘job’. It was convenient that Muyomi had openings just after the Calamity had happened. It was even more fortunate that he and his family made it out just fine.

“This is my city now,” he mumbled while opening the curtains and thrusting the window up with one hand. “Have to protect for their sake,” Aziz found himself looking at a damaged photo he managed to recover from their family home. Beli, his beautiful wife. Bajirao and Jai, his own two troublemaker’s. And his daughter. Sometimes he questioned if he made the wrong turns in life when he raised them. Of course, he questioned that every step of the way. What did it really mean to be a parent for him? If the three of them turned out that way, that was definitely his fault, wasn’t it?

“Guess I did,” he didn’t want to admit to being wrong about anything. That was and never has been his style. He had the image of a stubborn, harsh father figure to uphold. Then there was the issue of his daughter being an Esper. Though… was it an issue? It wasn’t even her fault. And if she was a Natural Esper, would he have treated her any differently?

Likely not. It was a father’s job to love and support, not to ostracize and hate. He couldn’t consider anyone who would do that to their kid a parent.

“Excuse me, Mr.Singham?”

“What is it? On a break here,” he really just wanted his mind off of the ‘night murders’ going nowhere.

“We’ve gotten word that the Chikyuhime Gate Academy’s, err, aid has arrived,” the man didn’t walk into the room. He simply spoke through a crack in the slightly open door.

“...” Aziz didn’t like accepting help. It was like saying he couldn’t do his job. Though this job, the things that were happening… they were bigger than just him. What if his wife was next? His daughter? His sons? “Alright. I’ll see them later. Wait til my break is over with, would you?”

“Uh, sorry, sir.”

Aziz shook his head while looking out the window a second time. He mumbled under his own breath, wasting away the rest of his time with his quiet worries and cigar smoke.

Muyomi Gate Academy

The clock ticked down past four in the evening. The Muyomi Disciplinary Committee lead by the capable Maria Belmonte, was informed of a meeting earlier in the day. The Captain of the Chikyuhime Disciplinary Committee - as well as some special agents from the Chikyuhime Peace Force, were coming to meet with local police and other affiliated organizations. The visitors were lead through the relatively large school. From the entry way, down the main entrance hall which had four grand pillars standing there to support the insides of the room.

“It doesn’t look much different than the one back home,” a girl with short, brown hair spoke up. She spun herself to get a full view of the room.

“The schools usually have uniform architecture. They’re all the same, I’d think.”

“Really?”

“From what I’ve seen, yes. There might be small variations here and there.”

“That’s somewhat oppressive.”

“It’s just how things are,” the Captain of the Chikyuhime Disciplinary Committee offered a wry smile.

“Just how things are,” the younger girl repeated her senior’s words. “Isn’t that different than how things should be? If it’s depressing, then it should be changed.”

“Are we still talking about architecture?”

“I’m actually not sure anymore.”

“Excuse me, are you two done gawking yet? It’s a building, yeah, let’s go,” the tour guide, a girl named Natalie Triston, stood there with her hands at her hips. She wore the usual Muyomi Academy uniform of a white button shirt and a black skirt. It was as ‘base’ as you could get when it came to a uniform. What stuck out from it were the fingerless gloves she wore on each hand and the combat boots.

“Oh, sorry about that,” the reprimanded Captain laughed a little. “Tomoyomi, let’s go.”

“Yes, we’re sorry,” Tomoyomi bowed while following after her friend.

Natalie lead the two to the Disciplinary Committee Meeting Room. What followed next was…

SLAM!

“I brought your guests!” Natalie booted the door open with no grace whatsoever. The Disciplinary Committee room had members of both the Student Council and the Disciplinary Committee inside of it, likely either seated or talking amongst themselves before Natalie’s interruption.

Tomoyomi looked at her friend, Anatole, for what to do. Anatole just slid her a look back that just said ‘let it slide’. Tomoyomi nodded, still not really sure what to do next.

“My name is Anatole Lawson, Rank S, Captain of the Chikyuhime Disciplinary Committee,” she bowed politely with one hand over her chest to help set a more professional mood. “And this is another member, Tomoyomi Anno.”

“It’s nice to meet you,” Tomoyomi bowed.

Natalie just kind of stood there before staring straight at Jake. She was probably at a loss for what to do next.

The Art Club Room

A room located on the western side of the school. It’s at least three times bigger than most classrooms, and has all manner of arts and crafts plastered on the walls made by students, past and present. It was the usual meeting time with the usual appearances. Rion Summers, the usual quiet type, stays to himself as many older members expect from him. His eyes pop up every once in a while to catch a glance at the usual resident.

Sayo Tamanaka. A complete contrast to her younger sister, Katou. If anyone held any secrets to the anomaly that was Katou, it was definitely her. Rion thought a few times about asking about her, why she is the way she is, but Sayo’s serious ‘aura’ just kept him from approaching her. “What?” she locked eyes with Rion.

“Nothing! It’s nothing!”

“Go back to painting, kid.”

“I-I was, I was! Sorry, Ms.Tamanakaka!”

“What are you, a crow?”

“Yes! I’m w-whatever you want me to be!”

Sayo sighed and shook her head, “Hey, Sis, you about ready to go? I can only stand being around a nerd for so long.”

Muyomi/Model-Building Club Room

It was the usual stuffy ‘club room’ that was actually dorm’s wreck room. It was a tad larger than the rest, probably because she got lucky enough to ‘claim’ it was the club room. There was a pool table tucked off in the corner, a shelf with some old manga, and a DVD set of “Desu Our Lives” which a strange woman named Sayo Tamanaka couldn’t get enough of. There was a circular couch there, too, in front of a big screen TV that people could hook up whatever they wanted to it. There was also a shelf stuffed with all sorts of model-kits that a resident 'member' and president often works with. There were art supplies nearby, too. This place was just a mis-mash of different interests. It helped that not a lot of people spent time in the campus wreck room. They were either out in town or held up in their dorm rooms.

Then there's also the punching bag hanging off somewhere in the corner because apparently someone likes working out.

Then there was the local 'work station' of Saya who seemed to enjoy making all sorts of 'magical crafts' right beside the president whenever she was trying to have her infinite 'alone time'. Thought, what was going on there? Some members were around, but the Club President?

Reina’s Point of View, Sitting In the Clubroom Doing Her Favorite Thing

I continued typing. And typing. And typing. I didn’t get much sleep last night, or this one. It was the same as usual. I went around the History board on Psi Chan to talk about ancient civilizations and claiming things that I knew were already wrong to get a rise out of people that I’ll never meet. Did I mention that anonymity is great?

“Aaaaaah,” I let out a yawn while looking over my shoulder. The usual people were here, mouth-breathing as they usually do. They let me to my business as I let them to theirs. The entire concept of having a club like this is asinine to begin with, so might as well let other people leech of an imperfect system, right?

“Oh,” I got up from my hobble in the corner. I walk on over to the fridge to open it up. There’s some Dr.P? Grabbing that. Walking over to the computer. Plopping my ass down. Ad infinitum. Well I give another weary eyed look to… everyone in the room then get back to ‘shitposting’.

  • This is going to be a bit of a strange rule, but you guys will actually be able to decide Reina’s actions. Will put votes down in the post following this one, and you place it in a spoiler at the top of your post to influence what goes on in the scenes she’s in. This is a bit of an experiment, so let’s have some fun with it. Keep the choices ‘appropriate’, I’d guess, if you go for customs.

Muyomi Gate Academy; Disciplinary Committee Meeting Room

Jake was sitting a little phased out in the meeting room, casually thinking to himself about his classes this week; essentially re-watching the lectures as he looked lazily over the table. It passed the time and it allowed him to study pretty much anywhere...

The sudden slam certainly caught his attention as he looked over to the door and... Okay it was just Natalie. Jake was used to her straightforward and brash approach to things, even after all that happened that remained intact. Whenever he saw her he always fought of one of their sparing sessions, usually when he was younger and got beaten a lot. Regardless Jake thought it would not be appropriate to speak before their Vice President did with this attempted formal atmosphere trying to be set-up but did give her a amused smile, a bit of a shrug and a clear glace towards the hallway behind her. Then turning his gaze to the individuals in-question.

Muyomi Gate Academy - Muyomi/Model-Building Club Room

Mireille sat at the table, currently focused on painting the last layer of camouflage on a Soviet T-28 Medium Tank, she was delighted that her 'club' finally got allowed, it was quite a hazzle to get the Student Council to allow the club, seeing she was the only member, but after some... negotiations she was able to secure a clubroom, well technically her 'club' shared the room with the Muyomi club but since she was also a member in that (and seeing the Muyomi club's... purpose) it didn't really bother her all that much.

After finishing the tank she put the small brush on the table and wished some sweat out of her face, quite possibly rubbing some paint on it with that. She probably would have to do some weathering to make it look better but not now. She looked around in the room, the club president currently sat at the computer, she thought for a short while about pulling some prank on her, but then decided against it, pranking the own club-president and the one also having keys to the room where all her models stood to maybe get revenge on her didn't really seem all that smart.
Daydreaming a bit she remembered that one time when she fabricated her own little pocket war by giving life to some of her models... WWII era tanks and mechs were surprisingly well matched against each other (possible helped by the fact that they had vastly different scales), looking at it in retrospec that was pretty stupid, it did cost mana, and had more or less zero gain safe for some giggles on her part... still she knew that she would have to do this again sometime.

SLAM!

The stream of discussion that had been passing through Jessica's head faded off into static as she looked for where the interrupting sound had come from. Glancing at the door and how the hinges might be broken (again), she saw the grinning Natalie take her leave. Of course, it was Natalie. Even after all that happened the last few months, she still had no sense of subtlety whatsoever.

Seeing the two guests that had entered the room, Jessica tried to concentrate on the meeting and shut out other thoughts. She had to focus on the meeting because she was here as a Disciplinary Committee member and not for anything else. And there was definitely no usage of Link Connect if she wanted to pay attention, even if someone needed help. Shuddering at the possibility of another lecture if her mind wandered, Jessica waited for the discussion to start.

>Take a drink of that delicious Dr. P. It's been a long day, and you already went through the effort to get it.

Muyomi/Model-Building Club Room

The roof of the club room needed a little touch-up- the 'off white' had evolved into 'dirty white', and was plagued by some stains of an unidentifiable nature. Darian knew this because she was leaning so far back in her chair that she was almost parallel to the ground. She had to keep awake if she was like this, she figured, otherwise she'd tip over and make a royal ass of herself.

Not the best cure for insomnia, now, is it? The rebuke took on the voice of Dr. Kirima, who would surely have that 'only wants what's best for you' frown on her face if she was here. But she was probably at her office instead, wherever that was. Darian had never called back to find out. Kirima seemed a nice enough gal, but that didn't stop the hot streak of anger that invaded Darian's mind at the thought of her.

Damn psychiatrists.

The chair slammed down onto all fours again as Darian stood and sauntered over to the room's punching bag. Kind of an odd addition to an already odd room. She was pretty sure it was whatshisface, the kickboxing kid, that had got it in there. The Hitmonchan. No, shit, the other one. Hitmonlee, Bruce Lee, get it right.

She let off a few jabs, bouncing on the balls of her feet, but her heart wasn't entirely in it.

Muyomi Gate Academy - Disciplinary Committee

Now onto the next action of the day: consuming meal #6. Eating small meals over the course of the day was both the most efficient and the least time-consuming way to ingest the daily nutrients needed to continue living. This way he could continue his daily routine even while eating, thus adding about 1.3 hours of extra time each day, thus allowing him more time for training and completing his schoolwork. Of course, both of those would have to take a small loss to their allocated time frames because of the fight earlier, which cut into his 4th homework block. That just wouldn't do. Fights would have to be done more efficiently from now on.

SLAM!

Naoki stood up in his seat as an immediate reaction. His hands slammed down onto the table. He was leaning over his desk slightly, propping himself up with his hands. "Announce yourself and your intentions before you enter the Disciplinary Committee room! Do not cause damage to School Property!" His voice was commanding and unwavering. The words that came from his mouth appeared to be clearly memorized, definitely rules that no one in the school bothered to read. Of course, that would not excuse breaking rules. It did not matter whether an individual was aware of them, but being present in an area governed by rules and then not following them was an outrage and a personal insult to his integrity.

He seemed to be seething already. Veins popped up along his neck and near his temple. For a moment, his vision was clouded in his rage, but Naoki was conscious enough to notice that someone high ranking had shown up.

...89, 144, 233, 377, 610, 987...

He cleared his throat and adjusted his uniform. Now, he was the perfect picture of calmness. "Ms. Lawson. Ms. Anno. It is an honor to have you with us today. I apologize wholeheartedly for the actions of Ms. Triston." Naoki shot her a glance that implied a disciplinary meeting later. Then he looked at the two visitors.

Muyomi Gate Academy Disciplinary Committee Meeting Room.

Maria was patiently waiting for her guests to arrive, while thinking to herself how she got here. Honestly she should have payed more attention when she was signing up for Student Council Vice President. She honestly thought it'd be one of those positions that'd make her look good while not actually needing much effort put into it. But nope captain of Disciplinary Committee.

She sighed and watched her finger as the clock ticked on. She was balancing a pencil vertically on the tip of her finger. It was something just challenging enough to keep her attention but easy enough that it didn't need much effort, thanks to her practicing this little trick since she was young.

Then the door slammed open and the pencil fell to the desk eliciting a momentary "tch" from her. Unlike her left hand over there she stood up casually and stretched before sliding her hands into her hoodie pockets. "Thanks Natile." she said seeming genuinely grateful to the gril that just kicked in the door.

She acted as if Naoki's freak out didn't even happen, and turned her gaze to Anatole. Instead of bowing she grinned and raised one hand. "Yo! Maria Belmonte, Rank A, Vice Pr—-You know what? Just call me Mary."

Muyomi Gate Academy - Muyomi/Model-Building Club Room

Thinking of the little Pocket War again Mireille couldn't help but feel that a little 'practice' couldn't hurt. She concentrated on the newly made T-28, allowing little amounts of mana to circulate through her body before transferring the mana into the tank. Shortly after that the model came to live, it fired a salute shot from its main gun before beginning to swiwel around its turrets as if searching for a good target while slowly driving around on the table for a bit. Finally it came to a halt, targeting a nearby model of a Königstiger. At that point Mireille had enough of it. She sapped the mana again and the model returned to its inanimate stage. Giggling a bit she stood up and walked through the room a bit.

Muyomi Gate Academy - Muyomi/Model-Building Club Room

Shane waltzed into the once proud, teenager-treated and cola-kissed room that was his arbitrarily mandated hangout following the rigor of his wrestling with falling grades. Literally waltzed, his feet tentatively shuffling to a beat even he couldn't actually hear. Imagined chords did not a cadence make. Maybe Miss Hamasaki beating at (Aomori's?) punching bag over in one corner was the syncopation of his one two step. Whoops, quite the innuendo there. Good thing he hadn't said that aloud, Hamasaki didn't look like she was in a mood to play for the moment.

Tough crowd in the room for the moment, in general. Lots of girls keeping to themselves facing corners or computers or other things that hid their face from an errant friendly word. He gave them the usual once over apiece, then tip-toed in dubious form to a table loaded with more model kits than the average convention Gundam booth. Not like Shane would have known what any of those looked like, ahem.

He was wearing something with a generically dull flavor, this-and-that and beige prose all over jeans and tee. A slender hand, well trained by the finest of arts, snapped at a chair back and summoned it for his being seated. Lécuyer, resident cutie first year, had a bit of a vacant look in her eyes. She always seemed a bit spacey, so this was par for the course. He kept a respectful distance, with arms wide open (under the sunlight) that he might claim space at the table as maybe rightfully his. Kept a casual smile so that she'd see those sweet pearly whites first she awoke from her daydream.

"Hey Lécuyer." And yes, he totally butchered the pronunciation. "New one's looking nice." With a point he made it clear he was referring to the model she'd just finished gluing. "Super aesthetic." That was his buzzword of the new school year, apparently. She stood up, having apparently missed him. Oof, rejected. By a first year, no less. Shane wallowed exaggeratedly in the ashes of his own defeat, dramatically posing as The Thinker with his chin on hand and arm on table, gazing into an incomprehensible distance and all the dry wall it offered his senses.

Reina's Point of View, Club Room

I took a sip of my Dr.P since I already went through the trouble of going to get it. I walk back on over, maneuvering through the resident golemancer's shenanigans and the wannabe playboy. Then the sounds of a punching bag being beaten resounds straight to the ears.

Hit. Hit. Hit.

Keep attention on the laptop.

Yeah, not happening. Is Miriellie controlling her figures again? I mean, nothing against it, but seeing those things come to life still freaks me out. I know how mana works, pull it into your body, expel it, yada yada... still not something you get used to. Then Shane started talking in a way that seemed to feign interest in the strange mecha magic— no, wait, he's not faking it. Is he actually interested, or is he still just that bad at making conversation? I'm not any better (mostly because I'm not interested in that shit), but... whatever.

Oh, hey, the page updated. I write out a long four paragraphs arguing a moot point over something I've long since stopped caring about. I look up from the laptop to see Shane looking like he's having bowel problems. "The bathroom's down the hall," I say that while refreshing the page repeatedly. "I'm not helping you there, just so you know," I take another drink of the Dr.P then sigh.

Being the Club President is hard work.

After standing up Mireille recognised that she had been spoken to. She turned around to face Shane, currently engaged in a thinker pose. She made a somewhat casual variant of a salute "Hiya. Err *Giggle* I hope you aren't here because you are mad at me." She smiled and tried to make those puppy eyes that noone could get seriously mad at.

A few more swish-swish-thunks and Darian hit a sudden, intense revelation. It's too damn hot. Her aviator jacket looked amazing, and had people thinking she was a badass or a douchebag in equal measure, but now it was causing her to swelter in the small room.

She shrugged it off and, like a heavy fog, her bad mood shrugged off with it. She was in her element here, her muscles tensed and body humming. Literally, she could feel the magic thrumming through her like a generator. Which is why, when Reina piped up about the bathroom, Darian let out a guffaw rather than a grunt.

He kinda deserved it, the Shane kid. He wasn't bad by any means, but only a liar would say he wasn't a tool.

"Don't worry, kid," she said to Mireille "He's too sweet on you to do anything but act sour." Well, she couldn't blame Shane for that. Mireille was cute, if way too young.

Muyomi Gate Academy - Disciplinary Committee

"My name is Natalie Triston, I have cordially invited myself to kicking the door in," Natalie smiled from ear to ear, showing her shark-teeth. Then her eyes quirked as she saw the veins, "Eesh. Go see a doctor, Nao. I think your veins are going to start clawing their way out of your Adam's Apple," after that she gave a wave to Jake. The smile was more cordial with her long-time friend than with the local stick-in-the-ass.

"You should really respect the rules," Anatole looked at Natalie with a frown.

"See? The VP approves," Natalie gave two thumbs up to Maria.

Anatole heaved a sigh, "Mary, then? You can call me Anatole," the white-haired girl stepped into the room while bowing to Nao and Maria. "I look forward to working with you."

"The same goes for me," Tomoyomi did her best to smile.

"I'd like to get straight to the point as to why we're here," Anatole walked forward while reaching into a bag she had slung over her shoulder. "Shipments of Sangue Benedetto have been trailed from Chikyuhime to Muyomi. This has primarily been the Peace Force's job, but they formally requested the aid of the Disciplinary Committee. Then the Peace Force was requested here in Muyomi, which naturally meant we had to follow," Anatole pulled some hair out of her face.

"Now we're all in this together. The primary objective here is to find the sellers and the shipments of Sangue Benedetto. I apologize if none of you have been notified about this, because these were some ... hasty arrangements," Anatole scoffed under her breath. Not at anyone in the room or Tomoyomi, but at the people who arranged this haphazard operation to begin with. After her explanation, she set a sample of Sangue Benedetto on the table. It was the red — the color of blood. A deep crimson filled with the power of life."Ingesting this will enhance the body and give those that don't have powers any sort of ability. Those that already have them will awaken to something new. From what we know, it has no addictive properties — but people still can't get enough of it anyway," Anatole placed the sample back into the bag while handing it off to Tomoyomi. "I know this is all fast but, again, I'm sorry," the other Disciplinary Captain bowed in apology. That was less from herself and more on behalf of whoever screwed this up.

"Anatole, don't apologize so much," Tomoyomi walked over to tap her on the shoulder.

"Ah, I don't want to be too forward," Anatole stood back up. "If you have questions, I'll do my best to answer them."

The Art Club Room

If there was anyone in the school who best displayed the possible consequences of the disastrous plague that had effected so many, it was Katou. An enigma if there ever was one, Sayo's buxom little sister's daily behaviors exhibited perfectly a textbook fractured mind, lost and broken from the terrible tragedy that had effected so many. At the moment, she was putting the finishing touches on her latest project, a sculpture of clay, glitter and feathers. To the untrained eye, it might just look like random blobs and crooked shapes, but Katou's was a very creative mind, and in her art, every movement was purposeful. She knew what she was looking at, and that was enough.

"One more swoop! One more swoop!~" She was clearly enjoying herself, her rapid eyes moving all over her work, and her hands staying busy. She finished by giving her work a kiss, staining her lips with glitter. She bounced over to her serious older sister, putting her arm up in a salute.

"The final solder has been created, Sir. Your intergalactic troops are ready to be deployed! Da da da da!~"

Muyomi Gate Academy - Disciplinary Committee

In contrast to his rage at the rulebreaking, Naoki now stared at Natalie with a blank expression. The mocking comment had gone straight past him in its entirety. He gave a slight bow in Anatole's direction when she requested that Natalie obey the rules. "Even should the Vice President be.. lenient in her reaction to rulebreaking, I can assure you I will not be."

Naoki listened to Anatole's talk of Sangue Benedetto and the fact that it had come into his area of jurisdiction. He took in a deep breath as an instinctual reaction to hearing this news, but he stayed calm. When he discovered the lawbreakers, then there would be a reason for direct action. For now, it was time to wait and see. His eyes lingered upon the vial of crimson liquid, viewing it as he would any sort of contraband. With disgust.

"We will do our best to provide anything we can to make this investigation as fruitful as possible. If you have need of any resources or aid, do not feel afraid to ask of our Committee." He punctuated this with another bow.

Disciplinary Committee Room

Anushka sat next to Naoki, lounging as far as she could go back without incurring his wrath over posture. Just as she wore just enough makeup and accessories to be visible, but not enough to break dress code. The whole thing was a practiced art and highly precise, born out of trial and error and hours of work. With her core as developed as it was it wasn't like sitting up was going to hurt her back any time soon, but the fact remained that she had a right to sit and not get hassled over how she was sitting. Just as people had the right to not get shit over slamming doors open, as Natalie just did.

Yeah, Anushka could get behind Natalie. Girl had style and flair, and had the balls to do crazy shit like that during school hours. Best she could manage were occasional jabs. Which reminded her.

"Naoki. Are you implying that our school is so fragile that a girl opening a door rather roughly would damage school property?" She tutted at him and shook her head, careful not to disrupt the part in the middle of her voluminous hair. "You know the school rulebook, and certainly you've also memorized all of the building codes, right? Certainly if this place is up to code to withstand fires, earthquakes, and floods, we're also rated against High School Girls Opening Doors, right?"

She leaned forward at the latest announcement too. She was going to fork her assault, it was going to be ugly, and it was going to totally be worth it. "And you mean to tell me that my father, Aziz Singham, cannot handle the S.B. trade on his own? Is this a statement on the effectiveness of the trade, or on the effectiveness of the police department?"

Sayo watched her sister's usual behavior. There was a faint smile there, but also somewhat of a frown. "Alright, guess you're ready to go. We're stopping by the Keg on the way home. I need something to hold me over before the weekend gets here," Sayo grabbed her purse from a stool nearby. "Do you want anything to eat? I don't want you waking me up in the middle of the night," the purse went over her shoulder as she walked on toward the door. The elder sibling held the door open for Katou to pass on through.

Get up and go outside for a change. You’re young, go do it.

Archery Range

Click. Bazoom. Thunk. Click. Bazoom. Thunk.

And repeat.

Some might think it dull, doing the same thing over and over. But that was how one practiced, and when it came to the crossbow, practice made perfect. Mikael had come in first, as befitting the club president, and was awaiting others. Archery club meetings were always open affairs. He was pretty sure there were supposed to be other permanent members, but he was the only person who was always there so he couldn't even remember.

Not that it bothered him.

He liked some degree of solitude, always remaining ever so slightly distant from others. So he remained alone, shooting and collecting his bolts once every target's bullseye was filled. Occasionally he tried trick shots to amuse himself.

Hopefully someone would come in soon.

Mireille saw the newcomers finding some seats in the room, she reckognized one of them as her new room-mate. She quickly washed her building-utensils and put them away before walking to him, doing her usual casual salute. "Hiya, you're Adam right? Seems we've been put in one room, so, hi, the name's Mireille."

Katou nodded, twiddling her fingers after grabbing her bag. She walked through the open door and waited for her sister to follow.

"I'd love to eat, but I have no mouth with which to eat." She used one hand to cover her mouth.

Muyomi Gate Academy Disciplinary Committee Meeting Room

Victoriana Sokolov stood up, her palm pressed firmly against her forehead and her lips firmly pressed into an angry smile. "And the first thing you decided to do, upon discovering this illegal and dangerous substance," she said. "Was to bring it into our school!?."

She slammed her fist down on her desk - gently for her, at least, though it was still quite audible and made the nearby floor shake. "And what now, do tell? Do you plan to transport it out of our school."

She inclined her head towards Naoki. "Mr. Madeiras, would you be so kind as to recite what the Muyomi Gate Academy says regarding illegal contraband that is found on school property?"
