Opening suggestion: Cartman being thrown under the bus in South Park.

I had to look at it a bit to figure out what was going on, but it works well enough pending other options.

The OP is great. Obviously an "accidental" type death with is not accidental. [tup]

A bit weird composition but it works.

[tdown] Not a fan. It relies on a caption/trope context.

I don't watch that show regularly and no caption has been suggested yet, but I got it.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.

What's the missing context? Holding someone in front of a bus rather than just shooting them looks like making it look like an accident to me.

Show image in OP to a random troper and ask what it could represent. I doubt Make It Look Like an Accident will be among the answers.

As someone that doesn't watch South Park, it looks like they're holding out someone to be mauled by a bus.

Doesn't quite work for me. [tdown]

^ They're pretty clearly throwing him (notice the guy on the left holding nothing and Cartman's arc of motion), so I don't see that.

I don't have a problem with it.

The bus driver is seeing what's going on and the viewer is seeing what's going on. Who is being tricked?

The driver is clearly oblivious and how the hell are we going to have an image if the audience knowing will negate it?

It looks like to me that they are just trying to kill the fat boy.

I understand the South Park image, and I absolutely refuse to watch the show. It has my tentative support until someone suggests something at least equally clear that isn't hideously ugly.

This image from this website depicts the same scenario with better visual cues. It's still lacking on the "accident" side of the trope.

That just looks like a demonstration of "throwing someone under the bus".

Aye, that particular imagery is strongly idiomatic.

It would do well on Literal Metaphor, but that page already has an image.

The clock is up and I'm not seeing enough consensus for either suggestion to go with them. Locking up.
