I would like to find some sinister/ominous/menacing, but at the same time energetic and/or upbeat orchestral music. Sinister band marches or old-fashioned polka would be wonderful as well.

Something like The Hall of The Mountain King, or Mars from The Planets Suite, or the March Slav.

As opposed to, say, something more mournfully sinister like the Toccata and Fugue or Dies Irae.

Obscure gems especially.

Not really obscure, but does Lux Aeterna (aka the Requiem for a Dream theme) fit ?

Something like Henry Cowell's "The Tyger", Carl Ruggles' The Sun-Treader or Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps might be up your alley, but neither of those are especially obscure and less charmingly spooky and furtive than violent and brash. Ruggles, in particular, takes the structure and sounds of a big, bold Romantic symphony and completely inverts all of the classical harmonic rules: The counterpoint intricately and minutely resolves from consonance to dissonance.

I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.

A classic tune that might fit is Saint-Saƫns' Danse macabre. Not that obscure, though.
