A supernatural Weird West (and the trope is invoked) strategy-RPG game?

"A Turn-Based tactical western of six-shooters and the supernatural, Hard West is coming to PC (Windows/Mac/Linux) on November 4th.

Hard West is currently available to pre-order for $19.99 (USD). The newly announced Collector's Edition can also be pre-ordered for $24.99, and includes the original soundtrack, art book, and comic book for download.

Follow Warren on his descent into the darkest recesses of the human soul, and try to survive in a world full of hard choices and even harder consequences. In this world, death is a constant presence and the black pacts you make will forever haunt all those around you.

Fight your way through 40 missions of henchmen, cultists, and cannibals in your quest for vengeance. Uncover the plans of the ancient powers at play and make difficult choices that resonate throughout your journey. Collect and combine poker cards to craft special abilities, and arm yourself with an eclectic collection of firearms including outlandish prototypes of the era.

Hard West is the second game from Warsaw-based studio, Creative Forge Games, and features the talented writing of Haris Orkin (Company of Heroes 2, Dying Light and Call of Juarez series), and an original score composed by Marcin Przybyłowicz (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)."

It looks a lot like Jagged Alliance 2. (Except for the demons.)

It's a good deal less complex than Jagged Alliance (but more so than the XCOM reboot). In between missions the game plays out sort of like a strongly simplified Wasteland 2, where you travel an overworld map and visit places, but events are handled as text only. Sadly the enemy AI in combat seems to be absolutely terrible. Other than that, there's quite a lot of interesting stuff in there, esp. the skill and perk system.

Looks so damn interesting. I just really hope they fix combat AI before the game is released. From what I've seen in a few videos, they're...not that great.

Give me cute or give me...something?

Quite like expected. A solid game for a solid price. Not much to complain there.

That's why they called it "Hard" West.
