Legend of Legacy

So this is an RPG that recently came out in Japan and is coming out in America in a couple of weeks, and it has some old Square Enix team members on its development team.

It's pretty much a Spiritual Successor to the SaGa Series, with characters gaining stats through their actions in battle rather than a conventional level-up system. There's also 7 different characters to choose as your "main" character, although since you can recruit the others it doesn't seem to matter much.

There's a demo out on the 3DS eshop now, has anyone been playing it?

the soundtrack to this game is dope btw

i kind of wish masashi hamauzu would get work on a title that isn't either obscure (Saga Frontier 2) or just bad/controversial (FFXIII), because he really deserves more recognition.

As someone who has never played the SaGa series, I'm intrigued by the gameplay videos I've seen of the demo.

Got the Launch Special Edition with the artbook. That Alchemist chick's outfit is really very revealing :V

Also the stat-grinding reminds me of FFII and the skill unlocks reminds me of Arte grinding in the Tales games.

I saw it in GameFly, the online rental service I use. I thought the name was silly so I decided to look at it, and one of the first sentences began with, "In the latest turn-based RPG from the writer of Chrono Trigger."

I immediately added it to my queue. I'll be back with opinions after it comes in.

I've unlocked the second element. This game is very, very light on story, it's all about the combat and exploration.
