I'd like to see some more options but that's a good contender.
^ They can work, but I think I'd personally prefer an in-fiction example.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Ok that Yuru Yuri is good, it's certainly got enough people there although a little lacking in the cosplay.

Some cosplay would be preferred, but not strictly necessary to show the trope.
I think 5.1 is the best one for now unless we find one that shows the floor layout with cosplay.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?^^^ The first is good. The second isn't much of an improvement over the current, I think.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Found some more suggestions:
- Galaxy Quest: 1◊, 2, 3◊, 4◊
- Supernatural, "The Real Ghostbusters": 1◊, 2
9.3 works for me.
That last pic in 9 is giving a "no hotlinking" error.
I hit up Yuru Yuri Comiket episodes.
I think this wide shot◊ + this◊ or this◊ closeup would be the best for this.
Scale, Cosplay as well as vendors.

The wide shot would need to be cropped to be intelligible at wiki size, I think, but the combo could work.
Looks like we have a decent number of suggestions for this, so here's a crowner.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I suppose it is too late to add suggestions but Oreimo has a lot of comic con episodes. Example◊

Crap, I added the Oreimo image without noticing that it was already there and now it's duplicated. Could a kind soul delete it?

Crowner's hooked and the duplicate's removed.
So umm no one added the multipart idea on 12?
I gotta say though the Happy Tree Friends one is really poor despite being in the lead, it looks just like a regular store and that is just not the trope.

On the contrary, Happy Tree Friends does a better job at illustrating the trope because it's much clearer at showing a fan being ecstatic at getting an autograph at a convention from their idol, who looks like (and in this case, happens to be) an actual superhero. Notice how it's also not the only stand, so interpreting it as a comicbook store in fact requires ignoring a lot of the visuals. Personal preferences aside, the suggestion that it doesn't illustrate the trope is just wrong.
Oreimo is actually a poorer illustration because they all look the same age with less visible giddiness/fannishness, which just makes it seem like it's friends trading comics at a school stand or something. Showing the fan aspect strongly is important.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"At most it looks like someone with a mask signing autographs at a book store which is NOT this trope but is an actual thing and probably should be a trope itself, it happens a LOT in series about nerds as a cheap excuse for guest stars.
A Con should show the scale of an actual convention, not a little corner.

Votes bump; three in the green, one in consensus range.
I have no problem with the first suggestion, it would have been better than Oriemo if there were a couple of unnamed characters in the background.
In Oreimo it shows 'character A' giving a comic book to 'character B' while 'B' is putting her hands in her pockets to get the money to pay for it. I am not saying it is the best possible image (it isn't) but i prefer it more than the rest that got suggested.
I'm gonna go ahead and call this one. Can someone please put up the winner? Thanks in advance.
Caption or no?
I kept the previous caption till something else gets recommended, feel free to remove it if you want.
Damnit I can not remember where this is from but maybe 'Oh hey it's the nerd convention'.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
All it shows is a Comic Book Guy figurine with a Fun T-Shirt that implies he went to a convention, without actually showing one. As a replacement, I'd like to suggest the following from an episode of Happy Tree Friends:
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"
