Mostly because the franchise's quality has dropped a bit and Johnny Depp has earned a negative reputation for being a physically abusive husband.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I haven't followed his career or his personal life (didn't even know what he really looked like because of all the makeup/outfits he puts on in the few films I've seen him in), so, fair enough (and I guess I have some Googling to do), but-
Again, glass houses. When Suicide Squad came out people were like, "ha hah, this is going to blow Avengers out of the water, this is going to be a way better superherovillain ensemble!" Yeah, where are those people now?
At least wait until this movie's out and it's gotten that sweet 98 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes before throwing shade.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I mean, I honestly don't care, I'm gonna go see both of them anyways.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? Not really. If we were going off the idea you're not allowed to have an opinion on a movie unless all the movies you like are critically acclaimed masterpieces then very few people are allowed to criticize any movie.
I have heard On Stranger Tides was bad. I liked the original trilogy but haven't seen OST. Probably won't see this either unless it's actually good.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.On Stranger Tides was pretty average. Didn't feel as messy as the preceding two films but wasn't really anything to write home about either.
It's interesting how the public general reaction to On Stranger Tides has been apathy or surprise it exists, and to this day it's actually the most expensive movie ever made, both adjusted and unadjusted for inflation.
I'm pissed at On Stranger Tides because it took one of my favorite books and failed to adapt anything at all from it. Why even take the name then?

So, first we move from snyder defense/bashing to....talk about another movie that dosent even have to do with superheroes?.
this people....this thread.....damn.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I suppose DCEU threads are cursed by Loki.
Where there's life, there's hope.Well it's sort of competing with Wonder Woman in that they're in theaters at the same time.
Though to take about both together would probably belong In the box office thread after both release.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureApparently WB moved up the review embargo to Monday.
GOH! JII! RAH!That's a very good sign. Studios only lift embargos early if they are under the impression that reviews will be generally positive.
Yes that's good to hear. Having the embargo only lift so close to the date of the premier only inspired suspicion.
Wonder Woman comes out next week, right? Or is it the week after?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.June 2nd in the US, a week from Friday.
I'm talking with a few friends to get a group together. It's exciting.
Plus security. It's most likely for the best.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.When I mentioned to my mom that Wonder Woman was getting a movie even she got excited, she remembers the Lynda Carter show but couldn't care less about the average blockbuster movie. I've talked to a number of people who have expressed interest for the very reason of "It's Wonder Woman."
I was checking out movie times for opening day and came upon the assigned sitting for the Dolby Digital showing and the IMAX 3D. These were the more expensive showings and at this point they seemed already 1/3 sold out. So I can't imagine how regular tickets are going.
All the members of the tank fandom are really disappointed, I'm sure.
That could've just been the marketing department.
Everything in the trailers look accurate to the time period.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureYeah, when most people think "Tank" they don't think "Trapezoidal box" like tanks were back then.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.
Did.... did I miss something really controversial about Johnny Depp or the Pirates franchise in the past year?
Because for a thread awaiting a film that a lot is riding on but the chance of falling apart is high, it seems a bit hypocritical to go, "Ah, WW has a good Twitter response, it's gun be gud" and then go, "I hope WW smashes that stupid Pirate film, internet reviews are dishonest!"
Make no mistake Pirates has reached critical mass, but it doesn't deserve bile from a thread about a superhero movie that's part of an already widely criticized shared film universe.
Like, glass houses y'all.
