I've always got the impression that those who rant about refugees sexually harassing/assaulting women are the ones who on about how the "feminazis" are ruining society.
Halper's Law: as the length of an online discussion of minority groups increases, the probability of "SJW" or variations being used = 1.I believe that the problem is also that you've got the attacks being carried out not by refugees but by the descendants of past migrants. Basically as previous communicates were not integrated they've now raised a generation who are lashing out.
As for the leaflets thing, it's patronising but also horrifyingly effective, the number of people who don't realise how consent works is disturbing as fuck.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranAre the leaflets targeted against migrants (or a similar specific group) only? Then that's bad - everyone should learn about consent, it's not a migrant-only thing.
Rather it's a problem that popped up with interactions between male migrants and local women. Whether leaflets were the right call, I have no idea. They're given classes over here, but its part of the general cultural education.

Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleIt depends on how those leaflets are worded, but they are mostly about avoiding cultural misunderstanding. For example, there were a number of problems at public swimming pools because some refugees confused it with a Turkish bath house and started to cut their nails aso there, or they didn't turn up in proper swimsuits and jumped in their underwear into the pool, or they jumped into deep water without being able to swim properly (I guess because they underestimated how deep the water in the pools are) and yes, they were staring at young girls in their bath suits so that they felt uncomfortable. To explain the different rules and that what in some countries count as normal interaction is not condescending in itself, it is supposed to help avoiding mistakes like that. And also to understand that if Germans act in a certain way, they don't mean to insult either.
Looks like we are making progress here:

Of course we also need to drop the numbers of people from Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan but so far things are going into the right direction.
Migrant crisis: Austria passes controversial new asylum law
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleThe European Commission proposed new migrant-related legislation today. A reference number is set for each member state, based on GDP. If the number of migrants in any country surpasses 150% of that reference number, the excess is distributed among the other member states. Refusal to take them in means the country has to fork over a quarter million euros per migrant.
The Hungarian, Polish, Czech and Slovakian foreign ministers are calling this extortion. The Polish one is doubting that Brussels is even seriously considering this.
Yeees, this won't polarise the discussion even further.

Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleSorry, 403 sympathy denied. They are all representing governments whose chief immigration "policy" is that they try to turn it into a game of hot potatoes.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYeah they can all go directly to fuck. They can always leave the EU if they feel so insulted, and it wouldn't be much of a pain on the EU as a whole like, say, brexit would be. They want EU monies, they have to contribute. This is how they can contribute.
Final Fantasy, Foreign Policy, and Bollywood. Helluva combo, that...Seems like a fair amount.
Assholes.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Dear god do I hope that passes, if the Eastern block don't like it they're welcome to leave the EU and deal with the situation themselves.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranHow will this payment policy be enforced, as an aside? It has only teeth if it can be enforced without the national government's say-so.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThat'll probably bring the whole EU project down, Silas — especially during a Brexit.
Keep Rolling OnSome German politicians have unsurprisingly voiced their support for this proposal. I expect German newspapers tomorrow to campaign for it too. The question is, what does Merkel think about it? Is she ready to confront the Eastern Europeans? So far she tried to play down tensions with Warsaw.
Furthermore it will be important to see whether or not the number of refugees remains stable. Since the Balkans are more or less secured, some countries might find it easier to support this proposal.
Does the law state how you have to treat the refugees you get?Cause I'm a bit cynical about some countries choosing to toss the hot potato in the garbage when they get it.
Secret SignatureEastern European countries are still getting a lot of aid to catch them up to Western European standards (even economically successful countries like Estonia are still getting about a billion euros annually to supplement their budgets). Therefore enforcing it would be to make cuts to said aid.

Human rights and refugee conventions apply. Not that anyone actually cares.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleX5 The expulsion of the Eastern 4 might help keep the UK in, after all a big argument for Brexit is that folks don't like free movement applying to Eastern Europeans. No more Poles "stealing British jobs" is Poland leaves the EU.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranThere won't be any "expulsion" before the Brexit, I am pretty sure that even if this proposal were to pass, it would take a few months until an agreement could be reached.
FYI, that aforementioned payment proposal from Brussels?
Hungary would have to pay 322.5 million euros. In local money, that's 100.223 billion - according to the secretary of govt communication, more than the entire portion of the 2017 national budget allocated to VAT reduction.
Hungary could always take refugees (and treat them humanly), then it wouldn't have to pay anything.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranHungary is expected to get 29bn€ as development aid by the EU in the next 6 years. Simply give the money to countries who take in refugees ( I know that this would not be legally possible, but it would be a fair solution).
I think there were some articles posted here featuring refugees noting that they did not appreciate the patronizing implications of some leaflets being handed out advising them not to sexually harass people.
However, the types that get all their information on the refugee crisis from Breitbart or some "dank meme" Facebook page aren't the type you can debate. At the very best, you're presenting an alternative point of view for anyone listening.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiot
