Man, who didn't love this show as a kid? I watched it to death in 03-04!

I never saw the last season, though, cause it was never re-aired for some reason. From what I heard, it was really bad.

I loved this show because I found all of the main characters except for Vince and TJ very relatable. It's my favorite Disney show from that era and my second favorite overall.

That movie is a legitimately good movie, with an excellent soundtrack.

(Personally, I prefer this version of the song over the original by the Lemon Pipers. Maybe it's not fair to compare, since the original is just a bunch of kids while this is an arrangement and performance by a group of professional studio musicians, but I really love this arrangement, especially those strings and the tone on the rhythm guitar part.)

(EDIT: You know what, I just went back and relistened to the original for the sake of comparison. They're actually pretty on par with one another. Some things I prefer in one version, some I prefer in the other. So...well, nevermind the negative comparison then)

I like the movie, too. It's naturally not a masterpiece, but for a movie based on a TV show, it is really great.

Though the last movie didn't really feel like a proper conclusion.

Anything produced after Recess: School's Out can safely be considered a cheap cash-in.

Though I know the Taking the Fifth (Grade)note  DVD was just a compilation of a couple episodes of a proposed new season of the show, rather than an actual movie (kinda like the Atlantis "sequel").

This show was good, but that 65-Episode Rule kept it from going on longer.

Anyway, Menlo and Randal seemed to teem up a lot. One has Menlo working for Randal near the end of an episode, one has them using Menlo's access of information to blackmail people, and both of them were members of Lawson's Crew. (As the evil versions of Gretchen and Gus)

so who was you guys' favorite character out of the main 6? mine was TJ. quick-thinking, resilient, a little mischievous, but stood up for what he believed in despite overwhelming odds.

I also liked TJ, though I also liked Gretchen because she reminded me of myself (bookish, shy, somewhat nerdy).

Really what I remember from it the most was the kazoo version of the Colonel Bogey March XD

Mikey and Spinelli are my favorites because Mikey is a "heart as big as his belly" character and also a poet and a sensitive guy in general and Spinelli is unapologetically tomboyish.

TJ was my favorite, but I was most like Spinelli, a huge tomboy with an attitude.

I think I just liked Spinelli because she was Italian-American, like me.

that and her parents were actually secret agents.

i just realized something hilariously awesome: if we count all the crossovers and cameos, then this show, Lilo and Stitch, Fillmore, Kim Possible, American Dragon: Jake Long, and the Proud Family are all in the same continuity. that makes me feel good. smile

What was up with that 65 episodes limit anyways? It seems like an arbitrary way to end a show with high viewership.

It gives you three months of weekdays as an easy "season" to sell off into syndication, I think.

i didn't expect so many people here also had TJ as one of their favorites. i guess we all wanted to grow up to be like him when watching the show.
