I think that looks more like Cyberspace than this trope.
Check out my fanfiction! The distinction between the two is tenuous, to say the least. I'd almost argue that the distinction is meaningless enough that they could be merged without much problem, but that's an issue for TRS. If we're going by the distinction offered on the pages, then Cyberspace has a pretty weak illustration since it only shows the cyberworld inside without establishing a connection to the outside world. I think something stronger for that would be something like a group shot of the Matrix characters being "jacked in" and then a shot of them actually inside the virtual environment.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Yeah, I kind of agree. The more I try to figure the tropes out, the less distinct they seem.
Check out my fanfiction!I think the difference between this trope and Cyberspace is quite literally the same as that between a computer and the internet. The former is more focused on an individual device where as the latter is about a much larger network.
Not sure what to think about the suggestion.
So yes, I think it would be better to shelve this discussion until this trope overlap is better sorted out, which will presumably take a while as the TRS backlog needs to be cleared out first.

Clock's way past due; locking up.
Opening suggestion: Computer reality simulation in The Thirteenth Floor.
