So not interested enough to post a character?
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)He's a little tied up with work. Wait a while longer.
EDIT: Whoops.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Sorry. I'm kinda tied up, so I'll need to rescind my interest.
"The literal meaning of life is whatever you're doing that prevents you from killing yourself." Albert CamusExpressing interest, with character idea. Let me know if it needs retooling.
- Name: Shylocke
- Age: 31
- Gender: Male
- Race: Goblin
- Equipment: Padded leather armor, an easily concealed dirk, a lockpicking kit, an appraisal glass, light rations, and several empty purses.
- Skills:
- Combat: Able to slip into darkness or scenery, especially if a distraction is handy. Can also drive his dagger into an opponent's vitals, preferring the neck, and assuming he can get a good enough opening.
- Noncombat: A skilled locksmith and pickpocket. He can also appraise the value of any item given a moment with it.
- Magic: Mind
- Pacify: Causes a single living person or being to become non-aggressive. Only can be used on one target at a time.
- Remove Fear: Removes magical fear effects. May or may not be effective at helping ease more mundane fears, as testing this proved...inconclusive.
- Frighten: Terrifies a living thing, making them desperately run away from the caster. Again, only one active target at any time.
- Telekinesis: Manipulate an object from a distance. Good for setting off traps safely, or grabbing items you couldn't reach normally.
- Sleep: Makes a single living target very drowsy. Assuming no loud noises or other violent disturbances, they will fall asleep shortly. Even if awoken, they will be groggy and less effective.
- Backstory/Personality: Raised by a roving tribe of merchants, Shylocke has always had his eyes on coin. Though he does gain some satisfaction from merely owning it, he tends to use it to enrich his life, and the lives of those around him. However, as goblins are seldom trusted by other civilized races, his tribe tended to have some rather dry coffers. As such, Shylocke learned quickly that there would be no harm in merely taking what he needed. No more, of course, unless the mark happened to deserve bankruptcy. Eventually, the mentality of stealing to survive grew into a hard habit, bordering on kleptomania.

I declare this thread to be definitive proof that no one actually likes playing as a dwarf.
As for Shylocke's spells...let's see:
Pacify: Causes a single living person or being to become non-aggressive. Only can be used on one target at a time.
Remove Fear: Removes magical fear effects. May or may not be effective at helping ease more mundane fears, as testing this proved...inconclusive.
Frighten: Terrifies a living thing, making them desperately run away from the caster. Again, only one active target at any time.
Telekinesis: Manipulate an object from a distance. Good for setting off traps safely, or grabbing items you couldn't reach normally.
Sleep: Makes a single living target very drowsy. Assuming no loud noises or other violent disturbances, they will fall asleep shortly. Even if awoken, they will be groggy and less effective.\\
Make note that I specified living things repeatedly, for a very good reason. That said, add these spells to your character sheet and you're good.
I'll probably start the discussion thread later today, and the actual RP will kick off in a few days (to give any stragglers who want to jump in a chance to do so).
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Well why would they, Totemic? All Dwarves are exactly the same.
But kick ass. Glad to be a part of this.

As a Heroes III player, I always lumped dwarves together with the Rampart town and AvLee, so I end up thinking of them as an oddly-placed unit from "the elf kingdom". (Along with the centaurs.) They didn't have much of a presence to me.
...Although as a perpetual Dorf RP-er (because somebody needs to represent them), I share your sentiment.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Funnily enough, my character concept for this RP was a dorf. I just couldn't manage an unconventional take on them.

Signups are now closed, pending launch of the RP. They may be re-opened later, depending on what happens.
Edit: The RP is live.
