RIP Iwata. You were an amazing President and Developer. You will surely be missed. *Salutes*
Godspeed, and condolences to his family. The industry has lost a good man today, and gaming has lost a friend and one of the people who helped shaped it.
Dost Thou Desire the Power ... Glove? It's so bad. That's a shame.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Damn. Why?
I mean, now it makes sense why he missed E3, but damn.
RIP, sir. You were a good president and developed some great games. Though you are no longer with us, your legacy will always live on. Nintendo will not be the same without you, though.
"Thanks for the lesson. But I don't need you to tell me who I am."Wow, this really bites. At such a young age, too. What a tragic day for the gaming community. My condolences to both his family and his employees at Nintendo.
Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy. What I'm wondering now is who's gonna be in charge. Very sad to hear about this though.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Well, I honestly can't stop laughing at the comments in the first link. I can't believe that they said the NX is more important than the man who helped run Nintendo. I wonder how his death will affect the company?
I won't be suprised if Miyamoto takes the helm.

Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakSeems like I am going to bed in a sad mood this night◊
Rest in peace Iwata. You made Pokemon Gold & Silver great games, and your work made countless people happy.

That's awful (way too young to go). May he rest in peace.

A sudden death and a severe blow to my childhood right here.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.I still can't believe it. I know it is real, but I keep hoping it's some sick prank that the internet loves to do.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Unexpected this is...and unfortunate. Iwata has always maintain Nintendo steady and firm, refraining it from falling into the rush of DLC that many like EA and Activision have done. Now an uncertainty lies before the future. Who will take his place? How would Nintendo be affected by this?
In any case, I shall miss the man who has that happy-go lucky smile and a Luigi hat in the Miiverse Plaza...
I can't believe Iwata's fucking dead.
my blogI'm really sorry to hear this. It's unexpected, too - I mean, he was only 55. My thoughts go out to his family and everyone at Nintendo. He'll definitely be missed.
I hope they can find someone good to take his place, though. I'm no expert, but it seemed like he did a really good job running the company, and I'd imagine he'd be a hard act to follow.
i had trouble believing this when i first read about it. talk about a punch to the gut.
maaaaaaaaaaaan he was way too young.
It seems like Nintendo's higher-ups have been expiring lately. First Yamauchi, now Iwata.
Someone better check on Sakurai, Tajiri, or Reggie fast!
Gonna miss the guy. Condolences and best wishes to everyone that cared about him.
His final Iwata Asks: Splatoon and Fire Emblem Fates. These were a great insight in the workings of Nintendo and just great reads in general.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.I wonder how the rest of the video game industry will react.
God, this sucks for Nintendo and his loved ones. (Stay strong, Reggie.)
Hard to believe that he sounded fine on the Digital Event, and that was like, what, 2 weeks ago-ish?

Some of Iwata's accomplishments as a programmer. I honestly didn't know about Gold and Silver and those were my favorite Pokemon games. May he rest in peace.

Sad news, but it seems Satoru Iwata, Nintendo of Japan's president, has passed away at 55 from a bile duct growth
Here is Nintendo's official statement on the matter.
I...
I can't really find anything to say other than this was a great loss to not just his family and coworkers, but a great deal of the gaming community and industry as a whole.
