I apologize if I've mentioned this before (I forget whether I have or not). But when I PM block someone, the fact that they have a message is showing up as "you have a PM," and I have to unblock them and read the PM to get that red 1 removed.

I despise hypocrisy, unless of course it is my own.

It doesn't block any notifications. It just means you can't read that person's PM.

...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.

Huh. In that case, wishlist item: can we get that changed and make PMs from a blocked user simply vanish without incident?

I would second this. There's not a lot of point in blocking somebody if the system still tells you that you have a message from them.

Did you block the editor before or after receiving a PM from them?

[up]I only ever block people after receiving a PM from them. I don't really believe in preempitve blocking, regardless of what they've said in a thread. It's only when they can't be civil in private message that I put a block in.

I take that it matters in some way?

Yes. The blocker only stops incoming PM's. Already existing unread ones need to be read.

[up]Yes but once I've read the first PM from the person and have blocked them it should stop any future ones, yes? Because it's not doing that.

Locking this in favour of this more focused thread.
