I am going to give this a whirl tonight.

I keep getting lost.

So I finally got the client running, just finished the (rather impressive) tutorial, and spent all my resources expanding my base for various bonuses.

Needless to say: I'm sold.

I'm beginning to notice that it's actually more practical to grind the tanks in the PvE mode than in Pv P. You're FAR less likely to randomly die and barely damage or affect anything, you don't have to worry about ammo costs, and unless your team is full of Leeroys that refuse to even take cover or AF Kers you're likely to win most of the matches. Sure, the exp and credit gains from a great Pv P match will always outweigh the results from a great PvE match in comparison, but by average you'll end up making more in the long run.

The only vehicle that seems to suffer in PvE matches are the arty units, but that's because of the way the game handles the enemy spawns, frequently raising the risk that the enemy reinforcements will spawn right next to your SPG's hiding location.

Speaking of PvE, I'm kind of confused as to how someone can die to the bots on Easy? Granted, I have Wo T experience and they have numbers; but still.

Its the auto-loaders and auto-cannon vehicles which tend to be the culprits. In addition to their rapid rate of fire, they're pretty speedy too. Add in to the fact that some of the maps have some REALLY shitty spawn locations for the vehicles, and the chance of an auto-cannon totally wrecking you from behind because it literally wasn't there a moment before becomes too common.

I have an question, it's normal to be called an faggot on the official forums for hailing from Wo T and playing badly?

Different game and looks/sounds like the same crowd.

It probably is the same crowd, but I could never draw that kind of rage on the Wo T forums (they just think I've lost my mind lately and grown resistant to my trolling).

But this time, I had an legitimate question, and I had to deploy my countermeasures to adhere to the trolling code.

You're correct in that most of playerbase carried over from WOT. And unfortunately, so did a lot of the douche bags and elitists. Apparently, you're an unforgivable n00b to their eyes of you weren't part of the Early Access phase and didn't master the basics yet... nevermind how many of those same players like to use the "Be a Better Human. Support New Players" banner on the forums.

It just comes with the territory of being in any kind of MMO, I guess...

Well this is gonna be an interesting twist for the tech trees... the developers are floating the idea of introducing a "Tier 9 Token" mechanic. The way it works is that Tier 8 vehicles will ultimately be able to unlock the Token via their gained exp. Once researched, the Token can be used only once to unlock any of the Tier 9 tanks available to the Arms Dealer that the predecessor tank belonged to. I'm not sure why they'd make such an odd option available, but I guess it's to help players play through tanks they enjoy, and avoid grinding tanks they don't perform well with.

One exception though: you can't pull the same trick with the SP Gs. Wo T veterans can probably figure out why that one's the odd duck out pretty easily.

Considering the rumors that I heard on Game Labs about how the classes scale, I won't be suprised if everyone uses them for the MBT first.

It appears that great minds think alike. For I planned on using nearly all of the crew skills that he listed. Except that I wanted an faster turret traverse for my MB Ts. And I haven't gotten far enough in the game to fiddle around with the retrofits and commanders, though.

Tier 9 vehicles, custom matches, and the typical balance changes are going to be added in tonight.

So what's this buzz on their forums about an credit income nerf?

Nothing about that on the patch notes. And since I stopped following the forums due to all the whining and vitrol I can't comment on that scene either.

If I had to venture a guess, it might involve the PvE missions and their income on the hard difficulties being a bit too efficient vs what you could earn during the regular Pv P matches. Otherwise, I'm in the dark just like you.

So, got the game installed and claimed that T-62...

600+ ping on the European servers. Talk about painful.

Is is any better on the North American servers?

Apparently it alternates between 200 to over 1000 ping on the US servers. I doubt getting an Asian server farm up and running is a primary concern of the developers...
