"Well, as long they're being kept in check and put to good use..."

BE!Pietro gives a shrug.

"You wouldn't mind a nickname like, say... Abe, would ya? Seems like it'd keep bad things from happening... well, unless you tried that before and it didn't work."

"I've never actually tried that before. I usually never stick around for very long, so I keep it to myself most of the time. I guess Abe works."

"Abe, it is, then! I'll make sure to remind Neuff and the others about this. Unless you beat me to it, of course."

BE!Pietro lets out a yawn.

"But first, I'm gonna get some shuteye. Guess I'll see ya later, Abe. Thanks again for the rum."

He heads off into one one of the inn's available rooms, where he'll then proceed to rest up.

And I'm off for now.

Eversong Woods◊ — West Sanctum

There seems to be some kind of unusual activity by the Sanctum. Namely, a portal flickering into activity, courtesy of a five-eyed elf.

*Elsewhere in Eversong, there seems to be a certain gravitational anomaly causing some of the trees to splinter. That anomaly might feel familiar if someone happens to have been exposed to such things before...*

The elf stretches and then yawns, the portal now open... and then it disappears, cloaked under an Invisibility spell.

He blinks, now taking note of the gravitational anomaly, and he begins to float in the air, glancing around curiously.

   Is that you, guy in the red hoodie?    he asks, continuing to look around.

*It'd take some searching, but soon enough it'd be fairly easy to tell where the source seems to be. Once the search has concluded, one would be able to find Verdana just standing in one place, blankly staring ahead of himself while trees near him creak and groan, and sometimes even collapse into splinters. Seems he isn't consciously doing anything...*

Auros soon just hovers to where Verdana is, quickly summoning a barrier around him as defence, before touching down in front of the albino.

He clears his throat, closing the rest of his eyes and simply keeping one open.

   Ahem. What are you imagining right now?   

*Verdana seems a bit unfocused, as despite the movement in front of his eyes, he doesn't really react at all. It's as though he's mentally somewhere else or something... Still, even though he probably shouldn't react to sound either, given the loud collapse of several trees nearby, he does seem to suddenly blink into life once he hears Auros speak.*

"..."

*The gravitational pressure seems to have lightened up, thankfully. Given some time to get his bearings, the albino eventually blinks away whatever state of confusion he'd been in, then turns to respond.*

"Not imagining. That's... probably not the word for it."

   Spacing out, then. Or is 'trapped in the mindscape' a better word?   

Auros smiles faintly, now starting to float in the air once more, idly glancing around, his five eyes blinking to focus on Verdana for a while.

   Nice fight earlier, by the way.   

"...Not sure if I'd use those terms either."

*There's a long pause, Verdana evidently going back into whatever mode he'd been in earlier for a moment longer, then shaking it off once again. He gestures out to one side, and in a pulse of gravitational direction change, the trees and splinters are sent utterly flying away, catapulted by unseen force.*

"..."

*Beat.*

"Yeah, that fight was okay. I should get in those more."

   Heh... makes me wonder, though. What made you hesitate with that fight?   

Auros floats back casually, a smile on his face as he tilts his head, chuckling quietly. The three additional eyes on his head appear to be glowing...

   I mean... it's not like you to do that.   

*At this, the albino remains oddly silent for a long time. He then frowns slightly, evidently having just already been thinking about that very thing, albeit not particularly wanting to talk about it... It comes to mind to him that he might as well voice his thoughts out loud, seeing as it might help get some clarity into the situation. Thus, he turns away and begins pacing.*

"Not quite the right phrasing. It wasn't like me to do that, sure, but then again, I ain't bound by what people think I should be doing. That's half the point. I'm sorta... the emotional side of two different split personalities who drifted their own ways."

*Beat. The sound of footfall apparently makes for good thinking background noise.*

"Emotions ain't logical... hmm..."

   I kinda know that. You wouldn't be a Split otherwise.   

Auros stops for a moment, blinking very slowly as if to emphasise something.

   Separated Splits do gain the chance to grow and develop, though. You're becoming less of a half and more of your own being, really.   

He taps his foot on the ground, before looking up at the albino.

   A bit like... eh, shouldn't talk about that. Heheh.   

*There's a pause. Verdana seems distinctly aware that Auros apparently knows a few things about him that maybe he shouldn't be knowing... That's something that slightly bothers him, although he's hardly a unique case, so there's possible justification there. After a bit more pacing, he suddenly stops.*

"Hm. Individual development... Yeah, that probably pays a part in it. At the time of initial splitting, neither half of us has the... brightest outlook on emotional matters. Ya can't expect someone made with a perpetual state of self-hate to be very pleasant to anything else. But... I dunno."

*Beat. His eyes turn black for a few moments... then flick back to red.*

"The hate ain't really there anymore. Why bother holding on if I ain't contractually obliged to? Things are different."

   Mm-hmm. What a person was is different from what they are now.   

Auros inclines his head to the side, the edge of his lips faintly curling, and he leans back.

   What you thought was valuable before... you could regard as worthless now, and you find value in new things. That's just how things work over time, don't they, Verdana?

*Verdana resumes pacing soon enough, although the mention of his name incites something of a frown... Then, he gestures to the side, and one would immediately be able to observe no less than eight different huge mace-like constructs forming in the air. They flicker with the energies of oblivion and destruction...*

"Never said my name. You ain't supposed to know that yet."

*The constructs don't seem to be doing anything just yet, although they're definitely in position to do so. All he has to do is give the word. Or, in this case, make the gesture.*

   We've seen a lot. Hœlvásy frůn dę biärchľe. I've heard about you and watched a good amount of things here. Œňealðeņ.   

Auros raises his hands a little, looking at Verdana calmly.

   Since I know you well enough, I guess I could reveal a few things. Just look into my eyes if you're ready.   

*There's a pause. Verdana still has those constructs on standby, just to make absolutely sure there isn't some kind of funny business going on, although knowing of the possible justification for why Auros seems to know a few things does mean he's a bit less likely to use them... probably. After some time to think about it, he shrugs.*

"Hmm."

*Some... almost outright excessive preparation of even more funny business disincentives later, he proceeds to turn and take a look into Auros's eyes.*

Wanda and Pietro are currently going for a walk near wherever Auros and Verdana are when they spot the two.

"Oh, great... it's that Joshua guy's white-haired psycho half."

"Strange... normally, he'd be trying to murder that... five-eyed elf."

The twins cautiously approach the duo.

Auros' eyes begin to glow blue... and Verdana gazing into them would send him into a strange vision of sorts, before finally being pulled away from it, and back into the Arena.

The elf then falters visibly, hissing a little, before blinking and staring at both Wanda and Pietro, his eyes widening briefly... but that expression vanishes as fast as it appeared, and he smiles a little. Notably, his eyes are still blue, albeit no longer glowing.

   I am Auros Vitale. Who are you two?

*In silence, Verdana watches the vision flash by, silently observing what goes on and thinking to himself about what it might mean. With what he's been shown, he could probably find some meaningful way to put that information to use. After all, things aren't necessarily the same for everyone. However, he does not speak of what he has been shown yet. He'd rather keep that information secret for later use. Well, mostly secret. There are definitely people who might want to know what he saw.*

"..."

*The moment he's left the vision, he blinks, then gestures upwards. The constructs gathered around near him proceeds to rise up into the sky, then explode well away from the ground as he turns to face Wanda and Pietro. There's a pause.*

"I heard that."

Cue Auros receiving unamused looks from both Wanda and Pietro.

"Okay, I could've sworn your eyes widened for a second when you saw us, so don't play dumb, Five Eyes."

"I'm seriously in no mood for mysteries and crypticness right now, so... where do you know us from?

The two glance at Verdana.

"Well, you are kinda homicidal, dude."

"And forgive me for pointing out the obvious, but you don't seem to be denying it."

   Well... now you know. Life gets funny like that.   

Auros soon turns to focus on Pietro and Wanda, before snorting a little, his eyes now back to their green colour.

   How do I know you? Well, we tend to stay back and watch the ongoings here as we please, so...   

He shrugs casually.

   I know you because of that. What answer did you expect?   

Wanda sighs, clearly annoyed with how unhelpful Auros was.

"I was expecting the truth, not a cryptic, unhelpful response. You seemed visibly surprised to see me and Pietro here, which is hardly something a mere observer would do. Now, would you mind doing away with this nonsense and actually being truthful?"

Pietro, meanwhile, rolls his eyes.

"Wow, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to repay you for that helpful reply of yours!"
