You don't have to participate in any plots, really. Much of the time, it's drop in, drop out.

Different plots have different Big Bads, so you could say we have a Big Bad Duumvirate at this point. No (known) overarching Big Bad as far as I know.

I haven't really been paying attention to what's going on, can someone give me a basic recap of the current plot arc?

I've no clue, sorry. I'd help if I could. I don't really have the spare time to keep up with events nowadays.

There aren't really any major overarching plot arcs so far as I know, nothing that affects the whole Arena, just character-driven plots that may affect character development depending how they pan out.

Hey, I just jumped in, and I'm trying to think of a color to distinguish myself IC chatting.

Could this work for a good guy, or does this seem too evil a color?

The arena has Loads And Loads Of Characters. I suspect that red is more frequently used by evil characters, but the text color is often determined by things like the color scheme of the character, (magic) elements they like to use, and sometimes even things like the mood of the character. Use whatever you think fits best to your char, you know them best.

What exactly does a conflict ball manifest itself as? And can boss battles have multiple players participating at once? Do boss battles usually have plot build-up behind them? And can a player have theme music or some such event included in posts they make for what they deem pivotal or important moments for their characters?
