Um, Miss Frost? Matt opened his eyes and blinked in disbelief before closing them again. Can you help us?

I think. I'll send you a mental map of the interior of the slaughterhouse. It appears someone has been a busy boy in here, though, so be careful.

Thank you, ma'am. Matt's eyes moved rapidly behind his eyelids as his mind's eye began absorbing Frost's intel.

I've gotten a map of the place, he announced to the others with him. I'm searching for the targets now. With that his mind probed from room to room, seeking the presences of their quarry.

Inside the place, near different ends of it in fact, there were two groups of people - one of them was composed of a darkly dressed young man, a brightly colored robot, a well built, muscular youth, and a young woman - those were apparently the missing students who ran ahead.

And Matt brushed then against the other group, the Inner Circle.

Blink - obsessive, under a spell, devoted, dangerous—-

Mortis - deathly, despising of her family, simmering inwardly with detest—-

It looked like the Circle were not the only people, however, in the area with less than good intentions. Matt was able to pick up on the presence of two people, basically Z-List supervillains, namely, The Lance - a powered armor wielding man who wields, well, a lance, and Silencia - similarly, a powered armor wearing woman whose power was given to her by the armor, namely the power to fire destructive sonic waves.

It looked like those two were standing guard over a particular room, and there were really, really bad vibes coming off of that room.

Immediately upon teleportation, Scarlett barely kept from throwing up her ungodly amount of Twix. Mental note, she thought once her stomach settled, no sweets before 'porting.

She looked around the slaughterhouse. It...was definitely grimy, not to mention poorly lit. Nervous, excited, and wary, Scarlett split her skin and extended a few blood tendrils from her forearms.

"So...," Scarlett whispered, forming some of her blood into crystalline claws on her left hand. "Where do you think they are?"

Rachel could barely see anything in the darkness. She stepped carefully, not wanting to trip over anything. She saw some movement out of the corner of her eye and she quickly turned to face whatever it was. Then she took a quick step back from it.

"Holy crap!" she shouted. "That rat is huge!"

Zach ignored Rachel's reaction to the rat, as he activated his goggles flashlight mode. It would provide some illumination for the rest of the team.

"Can you send a mental duplicate of the map to me so I can save it to my wrist comp? And locations of our fellow students and bad guys would be cool too."

The slaughterhouse was very old, and obviously it had a history, one that could be seen in the still-lingering piles of flesh left around - an informed inspection would say it was pork meat, left here when something happened to make the place become abandoned. The rats had indeed feasted long and bred well, screeching and hurrying away from the teenagers as they encroached.

Yet, despite the old, horrid appearance and stench, there were modern lighting systems, updates to the flooring, and what looked like tiny black boxes - highly advanced security devices.

There had been a lot of activity here, yet whoever was responsible was not really concerned about the morbid and decayed atmosphere. Going by some of the states of the meat left around and the hooks, it was almost able to be inferred he / she liked it this way.

There was a piglet keeping area to the north, and just past that was the offices and employee rest areas - barely better kept than the places pigs were slaughtered.

The west had a large sector where pig carcasses were kept after being "processed", and some of the carcasses were indeed still left lying around. Beyond that was a strange old sealed room not included in the scheme of the area. There were a number of smaller branch off areas, especially to the north and in this main area.

"Bleh. So this is what the inside of a slaughterhouse looks like..." Echo noted, "Suddenly I don't feel like ripping and tearing any guts..."

Lapis looked at Matt, "Looks like you've found something I can tell by the look on your face, and it doesn't appear to be good." He turned to the rest of the group, "And yet, here we all are, still together. It's really the first time I've worked as a team. Lead people? Sure, been a member, never," he thought to himself, he would only let Matt read that, he felt strangely comfortable in the presence of the group, like he knew nothing could go wrong.

Jake looked around and noticed that the girl leading them - Cassidy - was not looking quite so confident and assured any more. More or less she looked horrified at what the inside of a slaughter house looked like.

Stepping forward, he mustered his voice and said, "Come on, lets...get going..."

Lapis noticed that no one was being quite as bold as before, "I can take lead if someone gives me some light." He really didn't like the feeling that the others were starting to get scared, because he wasn't. Of course though, he grew up in such madness.

Cassidy nods a few times, and then decides to let Lapis lead the way in, hoping she can recover enough deeper in to get her dignity back.

How's Jake handling this so...urgh...

Jake looked around, thinking about that time those guys dragged him out to a similar location. He grit his teeth, if he had his power then...

Whatever. Gotta let it go. Deal with the present.

Lapis stepped forwards, telepathically speaking with Matt, "Shoot me the map and locations of each person, make it red dots for enemy movement and blue for friendlies, I need to know which areas to avoid." Remembering his shoes were off he started feeling the ground for whatever minerals were in there, searching for some tungsten or other dense metal.

Rachel suppressed the urge to throw up. She was seriously considering vegetarianism. "Can we hurry up, guys?" she said impatiently. "I don't want to hang around here any longer than I have to. Which way are we going?"

Daniel's face was even paler than usual, he clearly wasn't enjoying this that much. "Lets just get to everyone so I can try and 'port them out" Daniel says with disgruntled voice.
*Daniel draws his phone and starts to type a message to Amy.*

I will provide what I know, Matt replied as he closed his eyes again, translating the information into the visual medium that Lapis asked for. Is that good?

Jake kept going, and as the group went forward, Matt would detect the presences of the two Inner Circle members starting to approach, and Cassidy outright gulped.

Both of them radiated a sense of sheer...nihilism. They didn't...believe in anything. Except Selene, maybe - and even then, she was dead now, making the effect even more pronounced.

She managed to recover after the shock of the area they found themselves in, and reported on this, "Seems we're expected."

"Good. Can't wait to beat some faces in," Echo noted, a mental smile on his face.

"Oh joy," he said with an annoyed tone. "Everyone remember the basics behind the plan?"

Zach flicked his goggles over to infrared to see if he could catch sight of Blink and Mortis before they would the group, and pulled out his lightning gun.

Lapis began walking in the direction of the students, making his way around the map, sensing for vibrations in the ground. Once he passed a mole, which caught him off guard, but aside from that, he was making good progress towards the other students, "Thanks Matt."

Zach saw Mortis first as she crossed from a different part of the area, Blink not far behind. It looked like they weren't detected yet themselves, though the Inner Circle looked anxious and prepared for certain things.

Jake looked over at Cassidy and nodded, he really hoped he could make a good show here. Making ready to step forward, he reminded himself to be careful about these two - they had messy death-related powers, and one hit could be all it took.

Ngh... Matt groaned as he felt two darker presences out of the others in the building.

Be advised, he warned anyone linked to his mind. We've got at least two bogeys here, and they are not friendly. Despite the discomfort their mental presences caused him, the mute telepath probed for them again in order to more accurately pin down their location and warn the others about their movements.

Zach drop his voice to a low whisper as he spoke to the psychics. "If either of you can do some sort of mind whammy on Mortis, now is the time."

As he waited for their response, Zach nervously raised his lightning gun and began taking aim at Blink. The weapon wavered and shook in the youth's grasp as he did his best to line it up with the teleporter.

"What the—-!" Blink caught the sight of a flash, and then mere instants before the lightning was set to crash into her, she up and vanished, appearing again in front of Zach, "Pretty proactive for a "hero"." Not even missing a beat, she tried to teleport a chunk of the ground into Zach's arm.

Mortis immediately lurched as Cassidy started a mental attack, trying to push the girl into sleep, but it wasn't easy. "I am done with people like Frost!!" She sent a blast of deathly energy at the kids aside from Zach, not really caring who she mowed down.
