I wonder if it'll be a MCU Adaptation. Telltale got Game of Thrones castmembers for their GOT adaptation, so I'd be REALLY cool to get RDJ and Chris Evans and Scarlet Johanson on the project.
Aside from the Wolf Among Us, all of their recent games have had you playing, essentially "OCs" in that property's world, so if it is in the MCU I wonder if they'll do that here, or if it'll be a known character.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Wow, I never would have expected this. I hope it's not set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe because that gives them more material to work with.
It's a Sam And Max game, set in the Marvel Universe!

Come on, I can dream can't I?

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. What's wrong with more material to work with???
I think they're saying they hope it's not in the MCU because a comic-inspired universe has much more material to work with.
For example something like Marvel Ultimate Alliance would be difficult to do in the MCU because of the relatively small number of heroes, as well as licensing issues for people like the Fantastic Four and X-Men.
It almost certainly won't be in the MCU. Why would it? None of the other games have been.
Fingers crossed for Civil War.

Well, The Wolf Among us had a huge amount of material to use (Not as much as MCU does, obviously) but still a lot to sift through.
And its not like they can't do something smaller. Agents of Shield and Agent Carter obviously toned things down significantly. Something like that could be possible. I think an MCU adaptation could be fun. Maybe something starring Black Widow might be easier for Telltale's typical gameplay?
So it's going to be in the style of the choose your own adventure game...
Mileena MadnessI don't know enough about the Marvel universe to prefer particular adaption.
I like Telltale Games, so I'm excited for it.
Sorry, my language was misleading. I meant Marvel's games, not Telltale's. Marvel has made a lot of games in the past, and unless they were direct Film Tie-Ins, they were always based in their own universe loosely modelled after what people consider the Status Quo of the Marvel Universe.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.What are some really good Non-Action characters? I figure there can't be many, but there should be some.
Would a Squirrel Girl game work?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Why not. The comic's quite popular, from what I hear. And at least she's funny at times.
By this point having Telltale announcing a brand new IP created by them would be a Plot Twist in my eyes...
But they do things well, so I'll bite, not sure how well the Adventure Game aspect mesh with a superhero setting, but we'll see.

Well, Black Widow, while not a non-action hero, is certainly more in line with how Telltale has done action sequences before.
They announced that they have an original IP in the works though. We know nothing about it besides that there's something completely original in the pipelines. Probably created out of frustration of adhering to canon rather than completely following through on natural plot lines.
Good to know. But I gotta admit, thier engine needs upgradiing or else it becomes out-dated, maybe the new IP wil introduce it. Anyway, I'll be going off topic then...
As for the main character, I think they'll most likely go with some Action Survivor OC. But maybe they can find a few in the comics that can fit that role if they dig enough.

I'm just hearing about this now, but that seems like a really good fit.
Well the sky's the limit at this rate
When's the 40K Telltale game gonna get announced?
Just imagine Groot as a Telltale protagonist. All of the choices would be "I am Groot." and the usual "..."
It's been 3000 years…You know if this game gets made, 90% of what sold the pitch was a screenshot mockup with exactly that joke.
If it wasn't, I would be very ashamed of them.
Confirmed at "an event in San Francisco" which seems like a needlessly vague way to describe it, but whatever.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this- Telltale have proven their competency in making licensed games to me, but the mentioning of "striving for authenticity" feels, ironically, very unauthentic.
I'm curious what, exactly, they could adapt.
