Cops out of Hell: Signup and Interest threat. (Warning: Mature)

Zachary Williams, also known as "The Crowley Assassin". That scumbag has been on the loose for more than three years. A self-appointed agent of the antichrist and raving lunatic, he has been cutting the throats of little children for alleged satanic rituals. He has managed to elude capture countless times and made fun of police so much that differences were put aside, and through the INTERPOL, a joint police tasforce was created with the objective of putting an end to the terror.

You were one of the people of the taskforce. At first, cooperation had been mixed at worst, but as time passed the joint effort paid off and you have managed to corner Zachary in the valley of Hinnom, Israel. Surrounded while being still bloodstained and around the corpses of three of his latest victims, you were about to finally apprehend him.

But Zachary didn't care. He kept doing his sick routine of drawing strange circles with the blood of dead children, seemingly chanting in some kind of weird magic mojo.

And then the earth was split open beneath your feet, and you fell yourself falling...

... You woke up in an eerie subterranean cave, with only the intermitent illumination of an old neon light. Your cellphones and communications are dead, and the oddly placed neon light has a rather strange message.

Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

Okay, so this is the intro of Cops out of Hell, which is quite the mix between Die Hard and Diablo, with a dash of The Divine Comedy. It will have some adult themes, and even black humour at times, so bear in mind. Also despite using the X Meets Y formula, this is NOT a Crossover, original characters only.

Also, don't be afraid to make a badass character. In this RP all should be badasses of some sort (you're part of the international strike team), that's part of the charm. Also about magic and demonology, it's not really reccommended but if you make an enough convincing case I might allow it (but the tradeoff is that your character will be rather book-worm-ish and unable to put a good punch in fighting).

One question before I write this- how are the characters going to get more ammo if they have a gun? Is it like, shoot all of it and you're done, melee combat for you for the rest of the RP?

• Name: Otone Greenburgh
• Age: 29
• Appearance: 5'7", pretty muscular due to her training. She's got dark brown hair and eyes. Many find her attractive, but find it odd that she wears headphones so much. Usually wears her hair in a bun.
• Personality: Very professional. She takes her job very seriously, as it took her much time to get there. She rarely smiles, but if someone says something actually funny she'll laugh. Because of some discrimination she's faced in the workplace, she has thick skin and is very determined. In most situations she'll be able to keep a cool head; but keep in mind she doesn't suffer fools lightly. Due to her training, she is able to strategize and read people well, but she's also pragmatic and will sometimes risk the safety of others or herself for the greater good.
• Skills:
  • Sniper: She has good marksmanship all around, as she trained to be a sniper for several years.
  • Martial arts training: She got basic combat training, and pursued judo in her free time.
  • First Aid: She's had first aid training, but don't expect her to perform anything more than CPR or sewing someone up.
• Backstory: Most of her young life was unremarkable, besides her parents training her in marksmanship when she was 14. Upon graduating from the academy, she entered into the force as soon as possible. (And by as soon as possible I mean when she was 23.) She wanted the sniper position. That meant years of hard work; she had to be the best of the best to even be considered for the position. After her training, she was... Passed over. In favor of an aging cop who thought being the sniper would be 'easy'. Understandably, she was very angry. 'Were all those years wasted?' She wondered. 'What did I do wrong?' She couldn't stop thinking this, even as she blamed the other cop. Eventually she got her chance- the other officer was eventually retired, partly due to age, and partly due to him being corrupt. She finally got the position, and has maintained it for about a year now.
• Gear:
  • Remington M24 SWS
  • M1911 handgun
  • Ballistics goggles
  • Knapsack containing extra ammo, her wallet & id, a couple pens, a notepad, and a first aid kit.
  • Noise blocking headphones: She's got sensitive ears, so she often wears these when shooting.
• Other: Doesn't really fit anywhere else but I thought it worth it to mention. She's half Japanese half mixed European.

Wow, I only just realized how many times I used the word training in this sheet.

Just as a little side note, when you mentioned the neon light, I immediately thought of this.

• Name: Sean Finch.

• Age: 35

• Appearance: [1]◊ The sunglasses are pretty much always on his face, since they're actually regular glasses in a frame for sunglasses. They also adjust automatically depending on the level of light in the area. (This is actually a thing IRL. It's really cool, but also quite expensive.)

• Personality: Very much a Boisterous Bruiser, Sean loves talking with people, and is always up for a fight, or a good conversation. He's a very good therapist, since he can tease people's troubles out of them expertly, then provide appropriate advice. However, he's not without issues of his own, and nary a night goes by without him getting woken up by his own nightmares.

• Skills: As mentioned, he's a great therapist, and he's pretty decent with guns and various blunt instruments, up to and including a gun.

• Backstory: Sean was born in Camden, New Jersey, to one of the most all-American families you've ever seen; white picket fence, two children, one of each gender, both parents working, etc, etc, etc. He lived a good life, wherein nothing particularly interesting happened. This is why he joined up with the police, and eventually he did so well that he went from the Camden PD to the FBI to INTERPOL, all while somehow finding time to marry a girl and have a daughter. His normal life was shattered when his daughter Lily became one of the kids murdered by Zachary Williams. He blames himself for Lily's death, and will stop at absolutely nothing to bring the Crowley Killer to justice... Even if it means literally going through to get to him.

• Gear: A standard M1911 with several spare clips of ammo, a Kevlar vest, and a pendant with a picture of his daughter and him. Also standard civvie clothes, but those aren't especially important. And his glasses.

• Other: Sean has a minor in linguistics, so he knows a few words in many languages. Nowhere near enough to get by in a conversation, but he can curse in about 30 different languages.

I'm interested; this seems like it would have something of a Painkiller vibe. I was thinking of making a character with Satanic leanings, in the Satanic Temple sense.

Hmm... You would need to justify why he is part of a police force though. And if its that kind of satanism it won't net any occult powers.

Well they are following a an alleged satanic raving lunatic... And having such an uncomfortable close conviction (in name) might cast him as a black sheep. Not that they cant outright discriminate him but there would be reticence. Humans are hardly paragons of good practice. Oh and actual demons might laugh at him. Just letting you know that adding that particular flavor will...yield some angles in the rp that you might not have considered.

But if you think you can pull it off please give a try.

Are any of the demons going to be Revolt of the Angels-style (humanity-loving rebels cast to hell by a tyrant god), or are they all just generic psychopaths?

Who knows? Best if you assume the worst... it's called Hell for a reason.

I can't say for sure that I'll be able to play, as other commitments are looming, but my character is ready for consideration.

• Name: Baal Ginyyr
• Class: Vanguard
• Age: Early 30s
• Appearance: ^Expand  Though almost entirely covered when he's suited up, Baal's pale face is heavily scarred from multiple work-related lacerations, thanks to knife-wielding terrorists and gang enforcers. His black hair is kept short as per protocol, and his amber eyes are bright and intense, as if to stare down trouble before it starts. He stands six foot six, and uses his size to his advantage when possible.
• Personality: ^Expand  Baal keeps to himself mostly, not often finding common footing among his more authoritarian colleagues. He enjoys his job, though, and doesn't have much to complain about - as long as things are exciting, he's happy. Outside of his closest friends, very few people know he considers himself an atheistic Satanist. Not a devil-worshipper, or even believer, Baal is instead inspired by classical literature, identifying with the literary figure of Lucifer, the rebellious angel who was cast to hell after warring against a tyrant god for the good of humanity.
  
  Baal is compassionate and just, and sees his strength and training as tools to protect those incapable of defending themselves. Conversely, one does not consider oneself a Satanist without a rebellious streak of their own, and indeed Baal does enjoy attention. He knows actions speak louder than words, however, and he finds more than enough in the glory he garners for his bravery. Not one to participate in arbitrary ritual or accept without evidence, Baal never even imagined hell was a real place until now.
• Skills:
  • Strength: Baal's sheer size gives him a distinct advantage in close-quarters combat. Equipped with his riot shield, he'll often simply charge in and barrel enemy combatants over.
  • Weapon Focus - Submachine Guns: The small automatic weapons aren't known for their accuracy, but Baal has trained himself to effectively resist their recoil while firing them in one hand so the other can be occupied with a riot shield.
  • Toughness: Baal's armor can't stop every bullet, and he's learned to fight through the pain of taking one. While not one to gloat, he's been awarded several medals marking some of his more grievous injuries, and damn proud of them.
• Backstory: ^Expand Baal Ginyyr has seen more than his fair share of protests, usually from behind a plastic shield while reminding people he's just doing his job. When things got out of hand, the nightstick and teargas came out, but Baal never took pleasure in it. Rather, he usually identified with the causes of his adversaries, and decided he needed to get out of the position of riot control if he was going to do some real good.
  
  His performance matched his ambition, and Baal was placed into the SWAT unit, where he was finally able to take the fight to the real criminals. Entering barricaded structures full of hostiles armed to the teeth held the excitement and purpose he had been looking for; being the first one inside a breached room behind a ballistic shield made tangible his sense of protecting good people from those who would do them harm for personal gain or in the name of corrosive ideals, even if the shield didn't always keep him completely safe.
  
  Bravely and repeatedly taking injuries on the job without being discouraged apparently got him noticed by INTERPOL, and placed on the taskforce. To Baal, the man he's after now, this "Zachary Williams," represents the worst qualities of superstitious devotion, and he'll be all too happy to put down the degenerate who has the gall to call himself a Satanist.
• Gear:
  • MP5K:◊ This selective-fire SMG is just small enough for Baal to use comfortably in one hand while he holds his shield in the other. A few attachments, such as a flashlight, laser pointer, and red dot sight occasionally come in handy.
  • Body Armor: The distinctive, intimidating black suit of bulletproof armor that riot police are known for. Baal's helmet includes a clear folding ballistic visor, and is of course always worn with a black balaclava.
  • Ballistic Shield: A tall, bulletproof metal shield with a thin viewing port for returning fire from relative safety wherever Baal might find himself. Should enemy combatants close in, it becomes a weapon in itself, used to bash and knock back assailants.
  • Tonfa: More adapted for riot control than counter-terrorism operations, Baal still occasionally finds use for the classic nightstick.
  • Flash-Bang Grenades: One of these, when applied correctly, can turn a room full of hardened thugs into easy pickings. A bad experience with a poorly-thrown flash-bang has kept Baal from using the things when he doesn't absolutely have to, however.

Well, I'd like to be player number four. I just need to nail down what I'm doing character wise before I start writing the profile up.

• Name: Thomas Thompson the Third aka T3
• Age: 28
• Appearance: Thomas is clean shaven with a shaved head at the moment. Black stubble is starting to grow in. He is of mixed European descent, with a heavy dose of German. His nose is crooked and squashed from being broken multiple times. He's got a couple facial scars and various other scars across the rest of his body.
• Personality: Thomas is not a very verbose person. All said, his people skills are lacking. Still he has a ferocity about him and is not easily deterred. He does however have a temper, and a lust for violence which is mitigated by his desire to do good.
• Skills:
  • Marine Corps Martial Arts Program Second Degree Black Belt

  • Urban Operation Specialization
• Backstory: Thomas Thompson is the third Thomas Thompson to be a Marine. His grandfather was a criminal before joining the Marines in WW 2. Though most of his criminal activity consisted of being a fighter in underground pit fights. After completing his tour of duty in WW 2 and leaving the marines Thomas Senior started up a business. Thomas Junior once of age, skipped the criminal activity but basically duplicated his father's life path. Except instead of starting his own business he ended up taking over the business his father started. Thomas the third on the other hand, once he was finished with the US Marine Corps ended up joining the Police. Where once he got onto a SWAT team he excelled in the high risk close range environment of raiding buildings.

Also fun fact, during MCMAP training apparently, they will hit the trainees with pepper spray and have them continue training right after being pepper sprayed.

Oh, and if I thought I could have justified a cop having them, I might have ended up with either a claymore wielding Scottish amazon, or alternatively a demolitions expert with a rocket launcher.

Well, like I said, if you think you can justify it, why don't you try pulling it off? T3 is accepted.
