Eh, either way I've beaten them and I'm ahead in the Vortex race. For some reason though, there's not an option for global recruitment as the Dark Elves. I don't think I can even when I'm in a city.

Dark Elves have no Global recruitment. Instead, they get to recruit directly from their Black Arcs if they are within range.
Which is kind of a lesser option considering Black Arks don't get access to Black Guard or Har Ganeth Executioners, so your only recourse for armor-piercing damage is the Hydra, which requires a high-level Ark.

In other news, I was able to confederate every Dark Elf faction, even Morathi's cult, which was around as powerful as me. I'm actually debating whether or not to invade Ulthuan now that I've essentially destroyed all opposition in Naggarond.
I think my next Eye of the Vortex campaign will be as Clan Mors.

I wonder what their Vortex-related goal will be, considering how some of them are pretty much opposed to each other (see Arkhan).

I've been going through a Dark Elves campaign for the past few nights, and have actually had some more luck confederating, as I've gotten three factions to confederate with me. Granted, they're all a lot smaller and weaker than I am, but still. Either way I'm ahead in the race for the Vortex, and finished up a war with the Aghol Norscans to get all of Naggarond back except for one region, which idk is part of Dark Elf lands or not (i'd assume everything that's north of the mountains right up near the map border is not, but eh, they declared war on me.)
I do kind of like the Dark Elves, though. Even if they seem to take a lot of casualties Murderous Prowess normally helps when it comes to stuff like that.
Also, I'd forgotten how shitty fighting Norscans was, especially without its DLC.

Thankfully with the Dark Elf ranged units being armor-piercing by default I can take down lots of stuff pretty easily as long as I have enough Darkshards.
